The strong points
The waiters and waitresses were very attentive. The rooms and hotel grounds were clean.
The entertainment staff did a great job of getting people involved in activities.
The weak points
The food was very bland. The restaurants did not have a lot of selection.
The rooms have double beds, not queen sizes.
The hotel is very small, there is really nowhere to walk around.

I've never done the 'all-inclusive' thing before, so it was worthwhile to find out how that works. The staff are friendly. Everyone works very hard to make it an enjoyable experience. I have no complaints, it just doesn't suit my style of travel. I doubt that I would do it again. We were there mainly for dentistry, so it worked OK for us to book it with a minimum of fuss and preparation. If we go back to PV, we might rent a condo in Bucerias, or something like that. Do our own cooking. The last time I was in Mexico, I was working there. I was getting paid to be there. [Details]

The strong points
Not having to carry cash around with you.
The weak points
Eating in the same 4 or 5 restaurants all the time. The food is not that great to begin with, and the menu quickly gets boring. Being way the hell out there, far from downtown PV. We rented a vehicle to get around.

This was a nice hotel, the room was nice but if you are looking for a vacation with sun all day you would be disappointed the buildings block the sun from the pool area until approximately 1 in the afternoon. Found that there wasn't much to do at the hotel, the entertainment seemed to be sporadic and not advertised very well. At most other all inclusive that I have been at the entertainment group was very active in making sure people were aware of what was happening, information was posted through out the hotel to let people know what activities were available and how often. The restaurants were ok but not great, restaurant waiters and staff were very good though just not the quality of restaurants I have experienced before and not enough variety of restaurants. There was always a communication problem with room staff, didn't have enough hand towels and face cloths for room, the staff seemed to try and tell us there were not enough available. Our refrigerator was never topped up without us having to ask, we had to consistentantly ask for more water, more coffee, etc. Disappointing. [Details]

Our week at Grand Park Royal Luxury Hotel was great! The hotel is freshly renovated, so physically it was beautiful. The location is great as well, not close to town, but it's easy to get to Puerto Vallarta with the bus or taxi. Private beach makes sunsets breathtaking. The staff at the hotel are also very friendly and go the extra mile to ensure you are happy. [Details]

The resort itself was very nice. The lobby was modern, clean and very open. The front desk staff was exceptional! The pools were nice and the common area around the pool was kept very clean. The staff at the Sole cafe was very friendly. Most employees could not speak english (except servers). The food at the mexican and italian restaurants were good. The food at the seafood restaurant was NOT and the server was NOT pleasant. If there was an entertainment crew I didn't see them (neither did any of the other guests I spoke to). There is NO entertainment. No activities during the day to engage the guest except a water aerobics class that isn't even announced or encouraged by employees so most days there was maybe 2 ppl participating. 1 day they play a game of bingo. I was there with 2 daughters and they were bored out of their mind after the 2nd day. Its not all that fun just sitting at the pool for 6 days straight. They need to engage the guests...they need to provide something to do in the evenings beside DJ music. [Details]

The weak points
Entertainment is needed. There was NO entertainment crew and if there was they are NOT GOOD. They had not activities, no entertainment and they did not engage the guests. This was the most boring all inclusive resort I have ever stayed at.
