May 2022 Trip
Overall pleasant week, balance was good in terms of number of people at the resort, never felt too busy, staff were mostly pleasant and helpful. The resort is looking a bit dated and tired and was surprised to learn it was only 15 yrs old, lobby area is very nice, we liked the cafe, unfortunately, so did everyone else, so wait times were, at times, quite long. Pool area is nice and offers adequate shade, sun beds were horribly uncomfortable and become intolerable after 30 minutes or so. The pool itself also looked somewhat “tired” with numerous poor repairs and loose mosaic tiles floating around the bottom of the pool, which I stepped on, on more than one occasion. Pool water temperature was always too cold, which, seemed to be the general consensus around the pool. Beach area was nice, but again, beds were horribly uncomfortable. Our ocean front room had a great view of both beach and pool area, but can only be viewed whilst standing due to the pillar design railing, that said, the balcony chairs were so uncomfortable, standing was the better option. The air conditioning in the room was terrible! The only way to control the temperature in the room was to open and close the patio door! The room always had a musty smell and everything always felt damp, including the bed. Bathroom functioned ok, aside from having no functioning air extractor. Again, looking a bit dated and tired. So, on balance, not a bad experience, but, I wouldn't come back.

2nd Trip to Iberostar Rose Hall Beach
This is our 2nd time at this resort and we will return for a 3rd trip. We had no complaints from 2018, but they have outdone themselves during our 2020 trip. Food was even better this time. Absolutely loved all the jerk options. Had lunch everyday at the beach buffet and it was always delicious. Love all their fish options. Ate at the steakhouse 2 different nights and steaks were perfectly cooked. Delicious. Anyone should be able to find something delicious to eat here because they cook dishes from just about every culture and are delicious. The perfect opportunity to try foods from other cultures. Room was always well maintained. Check-in staff were courteous and check-in went smoothly and Tash, our concierge was so welcoming and helpful throughout our week. Nice to see one of our favorite lobby bartenders, Patrice was still here and absolutely delightful to interact with. Our favorite beach waitress, Monique was here again this year and she did not disappoint. All the bartenders and waitresses were so friendly and you could always hear some of the waitresses singing while they worked. The entertainment staff at this resort are phenomenal and even can get the quiet and shy folks participating, which they did with my quiet hubby. These are committed and hard working people and deserve the utmost respect for the wages they make. Tipping is our number 1 priority when we vacation at these resorts and although I have witnessed many who do not, they are still treated well and with respect by the staff. We actually visited the resort next door as an option to upgrade but prefer Rose Hall Beach. Actually saw and chatted with folks from the 2 adjoining resorts and they preferred this one for various reasons. Can't say I blame them. Can't wait to return next year.

Amazing destination for a family getaway
We travelled with my 5 year old twin girls to stay at the Holiday Inn Montego Bay. It was a beautiful resort that was clean with staff that cared. We stayed in building 1A, located off the main lobby. It was quiet on our side facing the tennis courts. The sun always rose on our side of the hotel and morning coffee on the balcony was always how we started our day. The room was clean and well kept. House keeping came every 2nd day and often was not completed until late in the afternoon. The staff and especially the lifeguards around the pool were amazing. They kept a watchful eye without being intrusive. The resort felt extremely safe for the kids. More than once when our group was separated we were asked where the other child was, it was nice they noticed and were aware of who belonged together and if someone might be missing. The entire staff went out of their way to accommodate the kids and that made it so special to them. They also have a kids club where kids can go and play in a supervised area and parents can take their own break. The area of sea between the small island and the main beach is incredible. Warm, clean, clear and relatively shallow made it easy to get back and forth comfortably as well it being relaxing, picture lazy lounge time just floating in the water. The food was good, buffet breakfast was good, we loved the a la carte restaurant (Italian and jerk) and the quick eats at the day time bars were great too. Loved it and would definitely go back for a family vacation.

Nightmare! No Concern over guest safety
Please note I have never written a review of this nature in the past. While we can certainly understand and are sympathetic to new hotels going through growing pains regarding service issues, I hope H10 would agree that safety of its guests should be a priority. On our second night of our stay, we noticed water leaking from the room above into our bathroom prior to departing for dinner. Upon returning to our room that evening, there was no power in the room. We called for maintenance and they reset the panel. We showed him the leak and he determined that we needed to move rooms given the leak was hitting electric lines. Given it was near midnight we agreed to move in the morning. We were promised another room the next morning and told it needed to be cleaned and would be ready for 3pm. So we repacked. A bellman was sent to assist with our luggage to the new room. When we arrived at the new room it was not ready so we were instructed to go back to the old room until it was ready. We never heard back despite following up numerous times. There was no leak that evening, and with no further correspondence we were forced to unpack again. The following evening, the leak returned and the power went out again. The next maintenance person indicated we needed to move rooms as it was dangerous to stay in the room. So we re-packed again and waited. Eventually we were moved to another room. Thank goodness that none of us, including your staff, were not electrocuted. During this entire 2 days and even thereafter my wife requested to speak to the hotel manager on several occasions but we were never extended the courtesy. We are not picky travelers and do not expect perfection, but we do expect a safe stay.

Wonderful stay, felt catered to the whole time.
We went to Zilara for our Honeymoon/Winter vacation. We loved our stay, and would certainly go back and recommend it to anyone! Here are some things we thought was worth mentioning: You get access to Hyatt Ziva - 5 minute walk to the family-friendly resort, Ziva, that is attached but operates semi-separately. You can eat at any Ziva food (Coffeeshop, French, Brazilian, Italian, buffet etc.), you can also participate in any of the Ziva activity program, use their beach/pool etc. We stuck to the Zilara activities, but ate many meals at Ziva. Fantastic Restaurants - we loved that we did not have to make reservations, were not limited to how many times/which one we went to. The breakfasts lasted until 11am. We especially loved the French Toast from Urban Heatz and the Brazilian steakhouse. That being said, the buffet restaurant was still fantastic as we tried it once for breakfast, lunch and dinner each. The rest of the time, we went to the restaurants. Genuine service - everyone was very accommodating, no pushy sales pitches and shout-out to Kevin from the Brazilian steakhouse who was able to get us the chocolate lava cake from Petit Pariz, the French restaurant. Great snack options - Jerk Chicken and Pork were very tasty. Also pastries, muffins and smoothies were options during the daytime. The Ziva side has pizza, burger/hot-dog/Jamaican patty cart, a child's dream candy shop, which had wall-to-wall candy, cookies, ice-cream (the cookies and cream flavour had real cookies crumbled into it). We were never more than 50m away from food. Room - spacious, elegant, clean, quality linens, had most things you needed. Only issue was we found the pillows fell flat. There are no bad views in the place. Beaches - We checked out both the Ziva and Zilara beaches. The Zilara water was a bit pebbly. Both beaches have wavebreakers, making the waves quite manageable, even for those who don't swim much/at all. Entertainment - wonderful bubble party, Z crew threw entertaining events, evening live musicians were absolutely incredible - I would have happily paid to see them in a concert! The best all-inclusive resort I've been to!
