Excellent location for independent travel
LOCATION: Pictures of the hotel on websites reflect reality. The hotel faces the sea and the acropolis of the town with its castle and medieval town. We had an ocean-view room and sunsets were breathtaking! There is no beach in front of hotel but an excellent one is accessible only a short 5 minute walk away. However, no beach chairs or parasols are available on that public beach. The hotel is located a 10 minute walk away from the train station (= main reason we chose this hotel) and a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
ROOM: Our room was large. At our requiest it included 2 single beds, 2 night tables, a mini-fridge and 2 closet spaces. We also had a large balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The bathroom with a shower was also of a good size and even had a bidet. N.B.: Maybe because of timing, Agropoli is a shopper's paradise! Came back with 3 purses and 2 pairs of shoes!!! FOOD: Food is very good and varied -- particularly when considering the overall package price and the fact that both wine and water are included at lunch and supper. A generous box lunch was provided when we were out sightseeing during the mid-day meal. Anna-Maria and Mariella provided exceptional table service and always asked reason we had not finished or had eaten little of a specific plate.
