Before planning a Trip to this country (Haiti) referrred by Travel Agency as Montrouis to confuse you ! Make sure you go on the your Gouvernment site and and abide by their recommendations! ! ! ! !

All vacations to this Country (Montrouis) Haiti are cancelled by Air line Feb 15 to November 2019

Very Slow Transfer to our hotel Royal Decameron with 4 armed police officers!! Waited 2 Hrs at airport before we left for hotel!

Our holidays were cut short 1 week,as we had to escape this hotel via Helicopter at our expense to Port au Prince the Capital. As the only road to this hotel was closed and dangerous! Haiti is a very political unstable country, and they were experiencing the worst political demonstrations,the week we were there Feb 3 to Feb 17 2019,and considered a very dangerous destination!

Large Basic Hotel 3-3.5 Star mostly ocean view rooms facing the ocean.Nice ocean view from your room.nice sunset.Very small balcon.Although the interior and exterior of hotel was renovated (painted only )the exterior walkways needs lots of updating.Very old ! Food tasty but very basic. Nothing Fancy! Rice,beans, pork, chicken,soup.Salad,vegetables Bread,cheese,lots of desserts,pasta,very little fruit choices,No Fish,no lobster,no fries,juices are watered down.You will always find something to eat. You wont starve however! Bar basic drinks.Dont expect a Sambucca /martini or other fancy drink after supper! But you can still get pretty loaded on the rum and beer if you not carefull!! Bar opens 10:00 AM closes 11:00 Pm .Ocean and beach lots of rocks.Would say very deep water,and you can not walk far in the ocean.2-3 feet max.You must bring your water shoes! lots rocks! Large beach area to walk.Water calm while we were there. Sometimes small garbage was noticed in the ocean.Plus you cant walk on the sand as it burns your feet it is sooo hot and rocky.You need to reserve you chair on the beach!Rooms are very small and nothing fancy. All painted white,plus bed spreads are white.they forgot to put a door in the shower so water is always all over the floor. Only 1 mirror in washroom.None in the living arear.Sliding window door in the bathroom.A la carte restaurants not exceptional but good tasting! You have to reserve around 8 am and maybe you will get a reservation If your lucky! A la Carte Restaurants were quite empty however! I guess They prefer you go to the Buffet! Day entertainment None! Be prepared to pay $21.00 US for your week for safety box.We paid $42.00 Key lock only.No problems for towels.Room and beach.Lots of beach chairs.Pool chairs from the 70's.in good condtion but vert old! No iron for your clothes.Good service from restaurants and Bar. The staff would need to Smile more and be more helpfull,but I can understand their frustrations of their country. Internet service Lobby only! very poor connection! several days no connection all day! Room cleaning service each day good. 1 Bottled water only provided in Room.Beds are harder than rock! No beer or soft drinks in the rooms.but a fridge is there.Don't expect to go on excursions they are not available although they are advertised because of political problems.You are stuck in the Hotel for your stay as you are not permitted out.There is no such thing as a Taxi or Uber here! There are lots of local Haitans at this hotel vacationing. Our experience at this hotel was not what we expected! Hotel grounds are kept very clean.Finally Would not recommend this distination!! You can find through your travel agencies other safer destinations,at a better price!

It was a wonderful experience. Hotel is clean and well maintained, food tasty (out of preference I would reduce salt in the meat), staff polite, loved the 3 excursions (Montruis, Port au Prince, Hike up a mountain visiting watercrest fields) RICH IN HISTORY and seeing how the people live.
Beach amazing, (small pebble beach)
Poolside good ambiance.
Bar unfortunately does not carry alot of popular summer drinks... no mojito, amoretto sour, dacari and even when I got something I liked I would go back the next day none available.
