Hotel Magenta 38

The neighbourhood around the Canal St Martin is really happening! There are great restaurants and shops and it's very lively. The hotel is close to Place de la Republique, which is exciting and has access to many Metro lines.
Was it because we booked a discount tour package that we put in possibly the worst room in the hotel? The heating/ventilation system was 100% non functioning. Staff had provided a portable heater and fan instead.The internet was unconnesctable, and when you could connect elsewhere in the building, it was usually uselessly slow. The two Macs in the lobby were also unusable. The batteries in the remotes were dead as well; not that we were in Paris to watch TV, but still.
On the plus side, breakfast was good. the staff were friendly. The room was clean. [Details]

This hotel was great. Located walking distance to Seine river, Norte dame and more. Hotel staff spoke English when we asked.
Clean, comfortable room, great bed and pillows with a nice duvet.
Would definitely stay again. [Details]

The hotel is close to two major railway stations and has nice connections to historical centre and airoport, located next to metro station. Close walking distance (15-20) minutes to majority off attractions. Recomanded to all travelers. [Details]

The Magenta was exactly as we expected from reading other's reviews. It was well situated, friendly, and the rooms are small but clean. [Details]
