Overall we had a great vacation. The hotel was clean but a little tired. The pool and beach area were beautiful. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The breakfast buffet was good, lots of choices, but a little more variety in fruit would have been nice. The food on the resort was excellent, but more choices would have made it outstanding. Shuttle options for the evening would have been nice as there was very little entertainment. [Details]

The strong points
Nice private beach. You could always get a chair at the beach or pool. Great quiet relaxing vacation.
The weak points
Not enough options for dining., and the shuttle did not run evenings to go into town for entertainment options.

Initially we were given a room on the first floor. It was badly in need of maintenance and updating. As Hilton Honors Diamond members we were moved to a renovated room on the fifth floor. This room was considerably better. [Details]

The strong points
The sea - snorkelling right off the beach.
The weak points
Many, many sand flies that leave huge welts when they bite.

on the positive side...

wonderful staff, lovely grounds, good food, clean, great snorkelling right off the beach, a 40 minute walk to Willemstad, and a comfortable bed.

on the negative side...

... an aging hotel that needs work.

the hotel floors are numbered 0 - 5. we had an oceanwiew room on the 2nd floor (3rd level). It did not look anything like the photos of the rooms on their website! ... those are the remodelled rooms on the top floor. our room showed its age and had a musty smell to it. we expected more from a Hilton.

about the all-inclusive...

this hotel had some all-inclusive guests and some who were not. this caused it to be a different experience from the other all-inclusive resorts that we've visited in the past... a little awkward and limited food choices. [Details]
