Wow....where do I start?? So, my husband surprised me with a two week trip to Cuba and told me about it two days before departure!! First week was at The Pullman, second week at The Melia. All I can say for The Pullman is the staff is wonderful! As for The Melia, words are not enough and I wish we had done two weeks here!! First person we met was Yanquiel, The Prince and he made our trip THAT much better! The food...unbelievable for Cuba! Probably the most variety I've seen in Cuba yet! And tasty! From the buffet, to the snack bar, to the beach grill...endless options! All the staff were amazing but the best of the best is the Amazing Orialys....always SO busy but ALWAYS pleasant, smiling and attentive! You melt my heart Cuba and we will definitely be back...and after almost twenty visits to Cuba, we will ONLY stay at Melia resorts from now on ❤ [Details]

We had a great time at Melia Cayo Coco even with a hurricane in the horizon…lucky for us we did not lose any electricity. We received a bottle of rhum and sparking wine as we were celebrating our anniversary and birthday. The hotel and rooms are super clean, the staff amazing and friendly even after working long hours. Unfortunately the hotel were missing products on a daily basis but not in a negative way as it was not their fault…it's all about supply…you just had to wait until the next day or so. The beach staff were very entertaining and jovial. Suggestion: club music and a place to dance is needed…as we ended up doing our own party and celebration in the lobby. Last but not least, the beach was nice and always cleaned. Be aware of mosquitoes and sand flies…don't forget to bring your bug spray. [Details]

Went to Melia Cayo Coco for a week and had one of the best vacations ever. The staff were all so inviting, nice and genuine. They couldn't do enough for us.

The food was excellent, and hotel had all the condiments. I had been to another hotel here and the food was very bland and had no condiments.

Will definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to all.

First of all this was my first time going on a vacation all inclusif.loby looked very nice and clean,the employe was very patients and polite.first room we had was ordinary and clean but looked like it needed some repair.next morning we asked for an up-grade to switch for a better room with a view on the ocean. That room was better than the other one.

Evening shows where a bit redondante,singer or musical group before the main show that where mostly dance. Probably some new stuff should be tought of ,like maybe magic show,karaoke night or more specific musical show little less dancing.

Food was a bit desappointing,don't really like sea food,the meat was a bit dry to much cooked and alwaysthe same,lunch time and diner time.i know suply are complicated to get right now.

Maybe you need more places with pool table,maybe ping-pong too,more similare games like that. Better internet and câble tv. [Details]

Our entertainment program has been widely accepted by most of our visitors. However, each visitor can have their opinion about it. Your recommendations in this regard were communicated to the activities department, they will be taking action in this regard to the extent that their budgets and objective conditions allow. We have also sent your recommendations regarding the activities to our superiors and corporations who have greater management power. It is a pity that our food was a bit disappointing for you, even though we made great efforts in this regard. However, we are aware that, the innumerable inconveniences that we present in this sense because of our external suppliers, cause lacks and shortages of necessary products that our customers can appreciate. Regarding the presence of some insects walking around the plates with food, we can guarantee that we have already discussed the issue with those involved and have also acted on it. Amazing experience

First of all I want to apologize to Marco the hotel manager for being so late to write my review!

I stayed at this hotel for 28 days and I really did not know what to expect with Covid etc. I was greeted by Marco which I find is a nice touch, he tries to greet all the new guests at their arrival!

The airport transfer was great only 15 minutes to the hotel. Check in went really well, I was impressed with the reception staff, very professional and they spoke very good english.

My room however was not the greatest, run down and no view, ground floor with no balcony. I did not want to stay there for 28 days. I decided to speak to Marco and the staff at the reception and requested an upgrade to a better room with a better view. The hotel is old and they are slowly renovating the rooms. I was very happy to be given a better room on the second floor, ocean view and newly renovated! That is great customer service!

The food at this resort is amazing! I have been to Cuba many times, this is the first Cuban resort where the food is so good! The drinks were good as well, although I was not entitled to the better quality drinks, they cost extra. The red wine that was served, from a bottle was very good and I am usually fussy with my red wine. The a la carte restaurants were very good even although booking was sometimes a bit complicated because of limited guests at the hotel so some were closed certain days.

I kept busy during my 28 days, I took long walks on the beautiful beach, I used the gym, I participated in yoga classes, I took advantage of the free bicycles, I played tennis with the attendant which was very helpful, I swam in the ocean, I snorkelled, I read a lot, the weather was perfect expect for maybe three days where it rained.

I would love to go back in the winter 2023 but I noticed the prices have at least doubled. I was lucky to get covid prices for my stay.

I recommend this resort to anyone, the only down side would be the room you might get which could be old and dated.

Quiet and pretty

The resort was clean and beautiful, the lobby was very white and clean with beautiful couches, great places to sit with a group of friends, lots of pretty locations in the resort to take pictures. Was worried about having stomach problems from the food in cuba, but the food at the buffet was good and safe and gave no problems. Always provided bottled water when we asked. The resort is full of alot of quiet, older couples and groups here to relax, not a place to party but more of a place to relax and lounge. Customer service is lovely, a lot of lovely workers - one cleaning lady went out of her way to help us light a cigar for our first time and taught us how. [Details]

The food is okay not the best but I think that's pretty standard for Cuba. The reservation restaurants are definitely better but it's still not the best. Pool also closes very early which is annoying.

First Stay in Cayo Coco Melia - Amazing!

First Stay in Cayo Coco and Cuba in general. It was a bday surprise and I was completely blown away from the entire experience. The staff and Cuban people definitely were the most memorable part of the trip but every detail from the entire experience was incredible. The food was delicious and there was a ton of options (I had always heard mixed reviews about food in Cuban resorts). The only caveat was I wish there were some more vegetarian options for my girlfriend but she was still happy with the food overall.

The level of attentiveness from staff is incredible. They take care of any need you have right away. We never had to wait for any of the cabanas or pool or beach chairs (I'm not sure if it's because of the season) and there wasnt any wait for really any of the other activities or experiences.

One big thing I hope that improves is the organization around the programs and activities. We received a programming schedule but it seemed like it was hit or miss. So we would show up for an event and wait, but then no staff member showed up for the event. There also wasn't much promotion around some special events so it seemed like we would only hear about those events from word of mouth from other travelers rather than staff.

At times they would also run out of certain food or drinks but they had some workarounds. They also had some issues with our bathroom and plumbing. [Details]

First Vacation to Cuba

I spent almost a week at Melia Cayo Coco. It was a fun experience with the excursions offered such as the catamaran/dolphin interactions, and I was able to explore the 2 neighbouring cities as well. Amenities were great, with a 24 hour lobby bar and snack bar. They also have restaurants that you can book dinner reservations for, in addition to the buffet. The view of the ocean was amazing and the water is so warm. Also they have cute friendly cats roaming around the resort! Had a great time and will definitely come back in the future :) [Details]

Best resort I've ever been to. Julio and the team does their absolute best with everyday activities and shows. There are nightly dance shows and beach parties. Drinks are very tasty and so is the food. Make sure to make reservations for the a-la-carte restaurants! Beautiful pool, beach and great and kind people! Memorable Vacation

We had a great experience staying at the resort. This was our first all-inclusive vacation, and will be a memorable one.

First of all, I would like to congratulate GM Marco and the Management for having terrific staff members across all areas of the resort - restaurants, front-desks, customer service, house keeping, entertainment/dancers, etc.

I would like to specially thanks Prince and Liz who really took care of us and making sure we had the best experience. We had challenges in getting the restaurant reservations, and hence offered a free gazebo dinner. Also, our room had AC issues, and was appropriately taken care of.

We really enjoyed the entertainment shows every night, and had more fun by participating in some of the dances. They even have quick lessons to learn Cuban dance. We also enjoyed doing Archery (thanks to the Sports Club staff for teaching), playing beach volleyball, activities in the pool, etc.

Some tips for first timers - try to book your restaurant dinners as soon as you reach the resort, don't miss to visit the beautiful Pilar beach, and also take the Catamaran tour (it is an amazing experience specially if you are a decent swimmer)

I also strongly suggest to take clothes and Dollarama items for donations, in adding to giving cash tips. Also, if you like spicy food, take some hot sauce and spices with you, the cooks will add them specially for you if you ask.
