 Almost the perfect place

The staff are incredible. Especially Miguel Moreno and Monica, the beach servers. The very best! And the dining room staff match them every step of the way. As do the fabulous bartenders.

The hotel has a wonderful waterfall in the lobby. We first stayed at this hotel in January and enjoyed the soothing sound of flowing water. Unfortunately, the hotel management has decided to add new age muzak, at an incredibly high volume, to the waterfall. This echoes up into the rooms from 9AM-9PM. The front desk staff have no control over the volume. It's managed off-site. So, unless you're into Enya, big time, at high volume, with booming bass, and 12 hours straight every day, beware!

 Just what we needed!

This was my second time here and, we were also joined by my in-laws. One of the many things I appreciate is the property is small, so you don't have to walk very far to the restaurant, pool, beach or your room, which was great for my elderly in-laws. It also allowed the staff to get to know you quickly. The staff really knows what customer service is and they always were polite and smiling.

The poolside cafe was very good and I wish I could have eaten more pizza! The main restaurant buffet in the evening was adequate, but I preferred eating off the menu, which was excellent.

The only hiccup was our check out - as we were all-inclusive, we had to be out of our rooms at noon - understandable. However, we were confused as to if we would be allowed to eat there until we left for the airport at 8 pm. Our Sunquest rep was rather absent, and when we finally spoke with him he was a bit non committal, saying we should negotiate something with the front desk... Not quite the answer we were looking for! Long story short, the front desk people were very gracious and said we could keep our bracelets and eat and drink until our departure, although we did hit snags with that when we were trying to sign for things...

All in all a great vacation and we will probably return next year!

 Ocean Breeze Hotel

We did enjoy our stay at the Ocean Breeze Hotel. The staff were very polite and friendly. The suite was spotless and housekeeping was excellent.
One suggestion we would make would be to change the chit signing with every purchase if it is all inclusive. It seems to take a lot of time to get the bill ready. Other than that it was a great location, quiet and safe.

 Good place and relaxing

we travel at least once a year from resort to resort in Mexico so we decided to try out sea garden ... i liked the big comfy sofas in the lobby area..modern with alot of glass... there is only one resturant there a pizza station that kept pumping food out of it all day night... food was good with either a buffet or from the menu ...
the swimming pools were good because it was heated. If you wanted to walk to the beach from the pool area you can either walk around or walk over 3 sections of island. The beach was nice too

 Wonderful experience

I was most impressed, this hotel is a gem. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent (if you didn't care for the buffet food you were able to order off their regular menu. They changed up the entrees in the buffet everyday so there was good variety), the service was outstanding and the room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is on the smaller side so you don't have to fight the hoardes like so many of the large resorts. Never had to wait for a seat in the restaurant or for chairs around the pool. I had read some complaints about having to sign for your meals but I didn't have a problem with that. I wouldn't think twice about returning to this hotel for another visit.

 Sea garden

This was our first visit to Mexico and our first experience with an all inclusive resort. The Sea Garden was a four star hotel with five star service. We loved it all and would like to return early in 2012 if we can find any more good deals including flights from Edmonton, AB Canada Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience.  Awsome vacation

this hotel is located only about 20 min from the airport, check in is a bit slow but it is so worth it! the staff are very friendly, rooms are spacious and very clean. We asked for extra towels and within minutes we had six of them in our room! we asked for bottled water, and they asked "how many" we said two please, and they brought us three!! They were super nice, grounds were super clean, food was good, you only had two choices of restaurants though to choose from, and you have to sign for every meal because a lot of the resort is time shares. Still totally worth it! not alot of entertainment wich for us was great, we travelled with our kids and couldnt do much because they would fall asleep early.Quiet place and relaxing that is for sure! would so defenetely go again!
great golf course if you like to golf.
they have waitresses by the pool bringing you your drinks and food if you don't feel like getting up to go to the restaurant! Fantastic place!!!!!!

 Great vacation for excellent price

The location was good and we felt very safe considering the news coverage of the violence in Mexico Very impressed with quality, cleanliness and food. Staff were very helpful. The only thing we were disappointed about was the beach. The undertow was very strong and for non swimmers we were unable to get in the water. Plenty of excursions available; in particular the "The Rythms of the Night" great show but a bit overpriced.

Great place great service far exceeded expectation

My husband and I were looking for a"hot deal" as we decided on a last minute getaway. We paid just over $730 (each, taxes in) which I thought was a deal and a half. Some other people even managed to pay a bit less. Due to the deal, I did not have high expectations for this resort as I heard it was rated between a 3-4 star. I was apprehensive as I had not heard much about this resort, and there were not many reviews. The reviews that were out there were helpful and I decided to take the chance and book. After some investigation, I realized this hotel was actually a timeshare but they are now offering this hotel as an all-inclusive. I did not have high expectations as we got a rediculously good deal. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The hotel is very clean and modern. Service was better than we have had experienced at some 5 star resorts. It is not a huge property, so it was easy to get around and find everything that was available to us. Now, all that being said, there are a few things some people may not like. But, if you get a deal for this resort, the down sides do not out weigh the good. They want you to SIGN for all your purchases (food, drink, etc..). This does not mean you will be charged! We didn't have to pay for anything, not even bottled water. Many were annoyed withhaving to sign, but it is worth your time and patience to do so. If you use the swim up bar, you don't have to sign everytime you get a drink! Run a tab and sign at the end of the day. Also, if you are a beach lover, the ocean is rough and it is not always advised that you swim there. Like most Mexican resorts on the Pacific side, the sea is rougher. The beach is very walkable and you can walk a good stretch of it. If you are allergic to sand fleas, you might want to stay away from the beach. We did not visit the beach much, but we were still bitten as the pool is adjacent to the beach. My husband usually does not get bit, but even he had many bites. I was bitten badly and many of the guests were. Make sure you take some anti-histimine for the itch. Also, the beds were extremely hard. There is not a large buffet, but the food quality was excellent, just don't expect a huge buffet like at many four or five star all inclusives. Remember, this was and still is a time share. The food is very mexican in flavour, choice and preparation. I do not enjoy spicy cuisine, but I still managed to find enough to eat. Lunch was a la carte off the menu and there was a great selection. There was always loads of fresh salads every day, fresh fruit and breads. There is not much night life at this resort and there is no spa. There are no a la cartes here, but there are a few local restaurants in the area. If you are looking for rest and relaxation this is an ideal place. This hotel was one of those "wow" deals and we definitely got what we paid for. If we saw a deal for this hotel again, we would definitely go back.

 Fairly quiet vacation

I think most of people care about hotel quality and food quality, so I would like to give you some feedback on those.

Most Hotel staff are nice and friendly, especially the restaurant staff are very friendly, chat with you and give advise of best siteseeing place. Even introduce me to the nearby 5 star hotel, it has all the fun kids stuff, like water slide and wave pool. Really make us feel like guest of a family. Facility is quite new, bathroom is very clean with marble tile on the floor and counter, very spacious. Bed is slightly firm, my family has no issue at all. Hotel room has safety box, one large dressing table and vanity mirror, room is spacious with high ceiling, large windows with small belcony, very bright and airy. My room is facing to the street, initially I was thinking to change to ocean view, but after one day I love the room, so why bother..

Regarding food /drink, because half of the customer are from timeshare, so prepare to pay tips for every drinks, snacks or meals. Not quite convinent to carry changes all the time when sitting by the pool. Restaurant has high standard when you order the food, saw an restaurant auditor from their head office, so quite pleased with their quality system. However not too much of food choice during morning and dinner buffet time, my kid bearly eat nothing at the first couple of days, only bread with butter and some fruit.

All the staff work very hard, which completely different than other resort I saw in different country.

Ocean is kindly of brown sandy water, you can not swim there. Swiming pool is very nice actually heated, so you can swim there any time you wanted, especially good for small kids.

Overall it is a small resort, no evening entertainment at all. But it is a very quiet peaceful resort.

 Clean/Quiet Hotel

Clean and quiet says it all - but quite different from any other all-inclusive that we have stayed at ... having to give your room number for everything (even though you had a different coloured wrist band was annoying), room upgrade to a suite with full kitchen was $300 for the week, not worth it esp. considering that it was 1 bed not 2 beds as in the standard room, not great with 2 kids (we travelled with our 2 sons, ages 5 and 10 ... internet is available, but costly at $95 for the week and slow ... 3 pools were great, swim up bar great, people friendly esp. when tipped, beach was fabulous ... if you needed water, get large bottles from the restaurant ... side trips were good, but bargain with the vacation rep or with the tour operators on the street ... also, convert your money to pesos once you get there, from a bank or banking machine - know the exchange rate, not dollars - either US or Cdn, as you won't get a great exchange rate on the street, difference is approx. 20% ... biggest problem was food and activities. Ocean Breeze is really setup as a timeshare - the only activity was some bingo, and some beach volleyball, NO kids activities ... the food became boring after a day or so - the place is not used to tourists eating in their restaurants everyday, ie. they are more setup as a restaurant for the timeshare people ... overall nice trip and nice area, wouldn't stay at this particular hotel again as it really feels like a 3 star, that could easily be higher if they re-operationalize to cater more to the all inclusive vacationers ...

 A gem of a find

Ocean Breeze is also known as Sea Gardens Hotel. Great place, excellent food and excellent service, though only one restaurant and one snack bar. Theme nights added variety to the food. Very good value for an all inclusive holiday. Rooms were a good size with all the basic amenities, very clean. TV set was old and we had to get it changed due to a lousy picture though credit to the staff response as they gave us another set within an hour of our complaint. The pool was warm presumably heated. We would certainly go back and recommend this hotel.

 Ocean Breeze / Sun Garden

All in all, this was an excellent vacation. Because this hotel is mostly used as a timeshare, it was a little different experience than a regular all-inclusive (signing for every meal or drink tab).

The food was some of the best I've had at an all inclusive (except for a couple of 'misses'). Selection is not as good as in some of the larger hotels. The breakfasts, beans, fresh salsa, hot chocolate, coffee, traditional Mexican dishes and fresh fruit and veggies were great.

The staff were always friendly and helpful.

Our room was a little dated - old, small TV, no coffee maker - but it was very clean. They cleaned the room at different times of the day, so we never knew what to expect when we came back to the room. Sometimes we had turndown service, other times the room wouldn't be cleaned until the afternoon. The beds were hard, even with the foamy on top. The pillows were uncomfortable.

The beaches were amazing. Perfect for long walks or playing in the waves.

I would definitely go back to this hotel. It is good value for the money.

 Absolutely Wonderful/Diamond in the Rough

This resort is correctly rated as a 4 star or even better. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The food, the alcohol and services and the hotel staff was perfect. The only thing that was a bit of a pain was having to sign for everything but I think its just because the resort is still sorting some things out. The rooms could have been ready earlier upon our arrival as we had to wait out by the pool. We arrived at the resort about 12:30-1:00 p.m but rooms not ready until 3:00p.m., and this seems to be the case for all arrivals. I think the resort could easily become a 5* with a few little glitches ironed out. The beds are very very firm, but it just makes you appreciate your bed at home more.... I do think the resort could use some entertainment in the evenings, the only thing available was karoke one night and that was fun. I would return to this resort in a heartbeat.

 Ocean Breeze Puerto Vallarta

beautiful hotel. Has a waterfall in the lobby which was popular for pictures. pool was big and clean. large beach with a pier only 5 mins away. Hotel was suited more for older couples as there wasn't alot to do activity wise and not much nearby within walking distance.  Clean and quiet resort

We stayed at this resort during the Xmas week, and that place was still dead quiet even during their peak season! It's good in a way that kids can enjoy the pools almost all by themselves, and no line-up to get food!

The resort is very elegantly decorated and the property is very well kept, very clean and tidy. The lunch only offers snack type of food such as pizzas, burgers, some finger food. You can only eat a-la-carte between 3pm-6:30pm and after 9pm, the buffet takes over in between. Food is quite good, they do a theme meal every night, mexican, italian, asian, etc.

One thing this resort lacks big time is the activities. There was not much entertainment during the day, and none at night!

The beach is nice and is literally steps from the hotel rooms, but the waters were a bit rough. However, you can walk alongside the beach and you'll get to calmer and shallower part. It's got a nice view of the downtown Puerto Vallarta also from there!

We took the water taxi to go to Puerto Vallarta, big mistake. Cost $20 usd per adult and the ride took about 1 hr on a twin-motored boat! worst yet, upon arrival, we had to transfer to a smaller boat and wade through the shallow water to go ashore, and we had an infant with stroller! I'd rather spend $13 pesos and take the bus there!

Nuevo Vallarta isn't big, it's more like a tourist town, you can ride the free touri-bus that takes you around the town for sightseeing and it drops you at a shopping centre. But Puerto Vallarta is definitely worth visiting!

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and I'd recommend this resort. If you like quiet and setback atmosphere, this is the place for you!
