 Belle semaine!

 So so location

Peurto Adventura is a wonderful safe location, however it is fairly run down. We upgraded as soon as we got there but had to use the original room for a few hours. It was terrible - dark and not so nice. Although the new room wasn't terrible, we won't be going back.

 Nice place to stay.

This was my first time to Mexico and my overall impression was very good. Very clean and a excellently staffed. A smaller resort that gave it charm, with also lots still to do or just relax. I would recommend to friends and would return there at a future date.

 Very nice place!!!

There are 2 hotels in the complex that are sharing everything: 5 pools, water bars, restaurants, disco, theater, etc. The lagoon has no waves and lots of colorful fish; we also saw barracudas. They have lots of beach chairs and you can choose to lay in the sun or under the reed umbrellas. We wish we'll go back one day.

Another great vacation at Catalonia Yucatan

This was our 2nd trip to the Catalonia Yucatan (which meant added perks for us as guests)! We had another fantastic holiday.. Tons to do around the resort (and off the resort as Playa del Carmen is only about 15 mins away)... VERY safe, VERY VERY clean and VERY VERY VERY friendly staff.... Once again, the highlight of our trip was the amazing and entertaining animation crew around the pool, doing various activities around the resort and performing the shows at night... The shows were out favourite part of the evening...

 Belles vacances a Riviera Maya

L'hôtel est très bien malgré la plage qui a beaucoup de roche mais on le savait. A 30 min de Playa Del Carmen en taxi. Personnel accueillant. Chambre bien entretenu. Bouffe très bonne et différente.

 Not worth the money.

The hotel it's self is nice enough but the standard rooms need updating. There was no alarm clock, coffee maker or fridge in our room. This should be standard for this price! They want you to pay more once you get there to have these options as an upgrade. The restaurants were not clear on when they were open and the food was not very good for the exception of the omelets and the Japanese restaurant. The location and beach were above my expectations. The staff was nice but we did have a watch go missing?? Also not impressed that you have to pay for the safe. $3.00 per day. I love Mexico and will go back to the area just not this hotel.

 Wonderful!

I would like to see them find a better process in regards to check-in. The food choices were incredible at each buffet (i've been to other resorts and got sick of the food after a few days), and we thoroughly enjoyed the a-la-carte's. The steakhouse was our favorite, and the japanese option was entertaining. Snorkeling at the resort was quite fun (I recommend bringing your own gear: it's approximately 50.00 to buy at the resort). The beach was quite rocky, and lot's of coral reef. Great for snorkeling but difficult to walk on! The entertainment staff were absolutely incredible, and such hard workers(my recommendation? i don't know what they get paid, but I say give them a raise .. it's much deserved!). Our room was pretty plain jane, but all we really needed. Our second last night there, renovation's were going on until midnight (and that's after I called in a complaint at 11), and then they started up early in the morning. I was rather disappointed with this.

 Riviera Maya Catalonia Yucatan

This was our 2nd visit to Yucatan. Both times we have taken advantage of the upgraded room. Service was very good overall, room and resort cleanliness very good. Staff throughout resort very friendly overall. No major lineups at a la carte's. Japanese is quite busy. While this was all inclusive, we were surprised that many guests did not even leave a small tip after a nice dinner at a la cartes or buffet. Recommend you take either a credit card or canadian cash as the front desk no longer accepts US dollars to pay for any room charges or upgrades.

 Really fantastic resort

Fantastic resort, this was our second visit. First time was so great we brought our boys(21y/o & 13y/o)with us the second time. They very much enjoyed it and said they would re-visit the same resort, and are already talking about next year. The staff is phenomenal, the resort must really look after them, we recognised many faces and they still look happy. The entertainment staff is tireless and so much fun. Last year we spent every day on the beach, this year we spent every day by the pool to watch all the antics. Pita and Enrique are names we remember, but they all left a lasting impression. I would definitely return to this resort. It feels like home now.

 Our Honeymoon

Overall we were very happy with what we got for what we spent. There are lots of resteraunts to eat at but Brisas is the main one that is open for 3 meals a day and has loads of variety and is unlimited. I recommend going to the creperie in the evening for icecreams and deserts
Negatives: -On the first day we asked to have the patio door fixed since it would not lock; a week later they had not fixed it nor provided a stick to bar it shut.
We locked all are valubales in the safe-safe costs $3 per day. Closet was a bit small since 1.ft wasted by the poorly located safe.
Choclate syrop is available but there was no chocolate cake- I would like them to buy a box of Betty Crocker choclate cake and learn how to make similiar. They really need a better pastery chef too.

 All inclusive NOT

when you buy all inclusive, it should be. Nothing came included, safe, fridge, you even had to fill your own waterbottles. Incredibly disappointed and WILL never go there again.
The best part of this entire trip was leaving.

 From Debbie S

Had an issue with the air conditioner-leaking water on the floor- lots of water!- I asked for it to be fixed- they came to room thought it was fixed but when we came back into the room later next day -my daughter slipped on a large pool of water right in the front door- fell, and smashed her face on the tile floor - she split her lip open and broke a front tooth -tour rep was great -management took care of it.
Resort overall 3 star- I felt a little bad because I organized this trip for 8 friends and family and was slightly below expectations.

 Everything You Want

This hotel offered great food, great service and excellent entertainment. The beach was private, therefore no peddlers and we were never approached about time shares.
We had our 5 year old son with us, who we couldn't keep out of the kids club. He had a blast with the various activities and swimming times. I Highly recommend this hotel if you are travelling single, as a couple or as a family. There is entertainment for all ages and with all the pools and ability to snorkel from the beach, we were never were bothered with others or with screaming kids.

 Good Family Resort

The Catalonia Yucatan was a good family resort. Our family (2 adults, 2 teens and a 14 month old infant) all had a good time as there was always some entertainment poolside during the day. we were told that we couldent upgrade to the "priveledged" side beacuse they didn't allow children. The rooms we had were fine and the house keepers did a great job of cleaning, however the beds were quite firm. We could also hear all the comming and goings in the hall outside our door. The food was great, however the buffets always had the same food options so its a good thing there was plenty to choose from. The Japanese resturant is a MUST and the Crapiere beacme a quick family favourite in the evenings. The Mexican and Italian resturants were also very very good. We didn't try the Steak House however, because the night we wanted to try it there was a 2 hour wait, and with an infant, that was not going to work. The beach was very nice, however, wether it was on the beach or poolside, we had to reserve our beach chairs early in the day (7:00 am) or else we were sitting in the sand. All in all, it was a good resort and I would recomend it to any family as there was plenty to do for the duration of our stay.

 OK experience

We were at the Catalonia Yucatan from Dec. 27 2011 to Jan. 3, 2012. We have two kids aged 5 and 2. The beaches were wonderful. The sand is clean and there's wonderful opportunities for snorkelling. The shoreline is rocky in places so bring water shoes. But it's lovely. They could use more loungers though. If you aren't down by 8 am it's hard to find a place to sit. The evening shows were great. The buffet food was just ok. The Japanese restaurant is fabulous! The rooms are older and are in need of renovation. They are clean though. We had issues with the toilet not working and air conditioning leaking. The toilet was fixed immediately upon arriving, but the air conditioning leaked for 3 days. We finally requested a new room and this was accommodated. A little frustrating experience though. The tours are great (Rio Secreto and Tulum). A 25 min. taxi ride to Playa Del Carmen. We went one evening with our kids and felt completely safe. It's a wonderful nightlife.
