Best bang for your buck

Hotel was OK, room was not what we asked for with ocean view. Ended up with a balcony looking onto air conditioning equipment and propane tanks. Very noisy.
Food was OK,staff were very friendly and service orientated for the most part.
Beach area was very small, pool area was good.
Good value for the cost.

The service and staff at the Canto Del Sol were wonderful. We had no problem getting Drinks and the food was awesome. The Front Desk sent us to the side desk to pick up our towel cards and we got a little bit harrassed about time shares(even though they swore that they were not pushing time shares!)Other than the desk harrassment it was a great hotel, we were expecting a mini bar in the room that they didn't have, mostly for bottles of water! Luckly we brought water bottles and got those filled every night!

We got to the hotel at around 5 am and had no room . We didn't have a room till afternoon .Slepted on two chairs in the loby, we should get a refund back on a future trip to this resort.

Nous avons été impressionnés par ce resort. Très propre, bonne bouffe, belle chambre assez moderne, personnel tellement gentil et souriant. Près du centre-ville accès à pied ou en autobus (6.5 pesos) faut l'essayer... Seul "hic" la plage: cailloux, et petite, mais c'est Puerto Vallarta... Nous le recommandons à tous. Nous y retournerons certainement.

This resort was just fine. I feel like this resort was a little more suited to families with young children. We had to change rooms because the first two mornings we were woken up by screaming kids and knocking on the adjoining room door. Food was not great.

Commentaires basé après avoir effectué 15 voyages dans le sud: Hôtel non récent mais très très intéressant, le personnel y est fantastique, la piscine y est chauffée, la bouffe très bonne, de très beaux spectacles le soir et l'hôtel n'est pas trop grand tout est à notre portée, quelques pas suffisent !!! Le WI-Fi est disponible dans le Lobby et les chambres avoisinantes. Le système d'autobus vous amène partout pour l'équivalent de 50 cents et le Malécone est à découvrir (Vieux-port à Puerto Vallarta, mieux que Playa Del Carmen). Si votre priorité est la plage, oublié cela mais si vous aimez les vagues et qu'une piscine chauffée vous convient pour le 3/4 du temps ... allez-y !!!

I honestly can't figure out what peoples complaints are all about. There was a group of 9 of us ranging in ages from 13 to 57. Everyone of us had the best time ever. It is definately not a 5 star resort but it is a strong 3 1/2-4. Yes the food got a little repetative, but I am a seafood eating vegetarian and never had a problem finding something to eat. The pool was awesome, beach not great but a 5 minute walk north and you will find a beautiful white sandy beach that was very swimmable. And ALL the staff was amazing. I was a little worried when we first got there after reading the bad reviews about the front desk, but they were wonderful. Also,while piling into the van headed for the airport, we were informed that we had a 6 hour delay with our flight, so Canto Del Sol replaced all of our bracelets and let us keep our all inclusive until the delay was over. They did this without us even asking, and with smiles on there faces. I would stay here again in a heart beat!!

The hotel was very clean and the staff was excellent. The activities and entertainment was very good. The food was good also.

this was our second year to this same hotel and just as expected - amazing service, great food, best pool atmosphere and super clean facilities. the weather was awesome which made the pool activities fun to be apart of. really recommend taking public transit as much as you can as it will enhance your "mexico" experience. the new malacon is fantastic and we felt safer there at 2am then we do in our own city at 9pm! don't listen to the rubbish on the news - mexico is safe and friendly!

We have stayed at the Canto before so we knew what to expect...the food is good, service from the staff is great - except the front desk.

The one thing that bothered us was the amount of information taken when exchanging or paying a bill at the Canto in US funds....way too much...they photocopy your passport you must fill out an additional form ( with lots of personal info ) in order complete the transaction.

Hotel shows signs of age, but everything is kept very clean. This is second time we stayed there. Both times we had to ask for a change of room as the first room had 2 double beds and no balcony. It is worth persisting as the next room we got was much better. Food was very good and staff are very pleasant and helpful. Not much beach left after the hurricane in 2003? Close to downtown Puerto Vallarta.

Very clean and friendly staff

i found the hotel to be in reasonable shape and the staff was okay. Nothing spectacular. I will never return. The staff was very sneaky and deceptive with the towel cards and trying to sell us timeshares as soon as we arrived. I will never stay there again as a result of that.
The front desk staff were very poor in english which made it very difficult to get any answers.

This is my second time here, it remains a great, clean hotel to book with and within walking distance to town.
Only problem would be with two points with the food: every beef dish was like shoe leather and the pasta dishes in the Italian Restaurant lacked any flavour. They have to work on those.

Le buffet (seulement 1) est simple mais tout est bon. Les resto sont ok.

Allez mangé au resto The Kliff, si possible pour les vue extraordinaire.(Ca vaut le détour, c'est a environ 15-20min de l'hotel.

Propre, propre, propre et plus propre.
l'hotel est toujours nettoyé ainsi que toute la ville de PV.

Tout les mexicains sont attentionné, ma femme s'est cogné la cheville et nous avons eu de la glace dans un linge de la part du serveur en un rien de temps

Wi-Fi gratuit dans l'hotel ainsi que 3 ordi son disponible

La plage est petite mais nous avons trouvé une place 5 jour sur 6 . (on est pas lève-tot)

food was good , staff very nice , beaches was not good for me

This was our fourth year going to Canto Del Sol Dec 30th to the Jan 6th. As always there were lot's of staff to help you no matter what you needed. The New Year Eve buffet, staff, stage show and fireworks which they put on every year was great. For families with kids this really is a good hotel for them and you. Believe me you will feel safe letting them walk around on their own. There isn't much of a beach but, what is there is always full by noon. They have security 24/7 along with the staff. I have talked to people who have stayed at a number of different hotels and they say this is the best one.

le mexique c est le mexique...je suis rarement decu vers toutes les destination mexiquaine...la bouffe meme dans un 3 etoiles est delicieuse...et j ai voyager a travers toutes les caraibe une cinquantaine de fois et le canto del sol pour son personnel devoue et rapide est dans mes top 10....

Nice, small resort. Request a room facing the pool. Not all rooms have balconies. Food was not great in the buffet, but the Grill a la carte was very good. Snack bar was pretty good. Alcohol was terrible. We walked 5 mins to Blake's sports bar for dinner and drinks a couple times - much better! We chose this place because we were travelling with 10 other family members and 3 were small children.

Our room was close enough to the ocean that we could hear the waves at night, which was great! Smaller resort, but clean. The staff were friendly.

Arriving at 3AM and in need of meds there was NO bottled water in the room.Phone was inoperative.Person in next room snored like a chainsaw.....no sleep! Requested a room change and phone service: 5 requests later (trips to customer service)we had a new phone.Any activity, conversations,music, laughter was way too audible.Don't expect too sleep well here. Food was O.K. but same fare daily. Only one person on the main grill for any meal. An omelate typically took 20 minutes and by then everything else was cold.Very narrow beach and extremely limited # of lounges/chairs.Ocean in this part of Mexico is EXTREMELY POLLUTED unlike the Cancun/Cozumel area.This resort displays/advertises 5Star. Don't believe it or the brochure photography. I am a retired Travel Agent and NEVER in a million years would I recommend this terribly mis-managed resort.

Older Hotel but clean and well maintained. Not the best food ever, but something at each buffet always appealed. Great value for the money!

The hotel was not bad. Rooms were clean and hotel lobby staff were friendly. I did not like the main buffet restaurant. On many mornings there were long waits in line just to have breakfast. My family and I waited over 20 minutes several times. The staff in the restaurant were not very friendly as well. Food was OK however, there was too much Pork and not enough clean and tasty Beaf. I don't eat Pork for religious and health reasons. The Beach was not bad but the water was murky and got very deap very fast. There were also many large sharp rocks near the shore. One big wave smashed me in to a rock and now my left leg looks like it got mauled by a tiger shark. Be careful, I wouldn't that to happen to a child or anyone for that matter
