All excellent, except the beach, too small for walking.

Très belle expérience à cet hôtel. Le personnel est courtois, toujours prêt à nous servir avec le sourire en plus. C'est un hôtel pour adultes seulement.
Les restos à la carte sont excellents. Aucune réservation n'est nécessaire sauf pour le Jade Samouraï et ça vaut la peine de réserver. Il faut vivre l'expérience du souper sur le quai, qui a lieu le vendredi soir seulement. La majorité des touristes sont anglophones, très peu de Québécois. La plage est petite, mais très propre. Une excursion à faire absolument, la descente des Dunns river falls et c'est à 10 minutes de l'hôtel.

The staff and food were fantastic. The resort is kept impecably clean and I can't put into words what a fabulous resort this is. I will be going back next year!

Très beau site et personnel très courtois.

The Jewel is a special resort for couples who enjoy a romantic and fun atmosphere. The resort has a great vibe and pace to it which is due to the oustanding staff who go out of thier way to insure you have a great vacation. They are engaging, fun, and truly enjoy thier work and the guests of the hotel!
The grounds, pool, and beach are beautiful and very well kept. The food is very good and no waiting in line at the restaurants. Also no problem getting lounge chairs on the beach or at the pool. There are lots of activities if you want to keep busy as well as quiet places if you want to do nothing at all.
Don't miss the Steel Band show, the Jerk Chicken Wraps (thanks Mark!), and the catamaran ride to James Bond beach (thanks Vidal pictures were great!).
If you want to try something intimate, and Jamaican give the Jewel a try, you will love it!

It was everything we read about and more. The staff are amazingly friendly and accommodating. They will always try to please you. The resort was spotlessly clean. The food always fresh and delicious.
The entertainment at night was one of the best on a resort that we have found.
The rooms were very comfortable with amazing king size 4 poster beds....slept well!
The only criticism I would have is the beach is short and you are unable to walk long distances due to a pier and a fence on the other side to keep locals from bothering you to buy their wares. The beach itself is beautiful and it is nice not to be harassed to buy things while your sunbathing. The jet skis are annoying as the locals are constantly driving by trying to entice you to rent one. This can get a little annoying and if tourists would stop renting them this problem would stop. But that's not likely going to happen so it's a bit of an annoyance. The only other con is the drinks are weak and I suspect watered down. We drank all day and never felt a thing (just peed a lot) may not be a con as we had no hangovers ha ha
Overall way more pros then cons to this resort. It's small enough to feel like you aren't just a number.
I would definitely recommend this resort to any one wanting an intimate vacation where good food,friendly staff and clean environment is a priority. There were always beach and poolside chairs for us and always beach towels available.
As long as you understand the beach is small but beautiful you will NOT be disappointed!

Good vacation... nice people... small # of rooms so always room on the beach and next to the pool (no fighting over chairs etc.

Its not a new resort but worth the price if you get it on a deal.

Petit resort avec du service..et le staff est extraordinaire..mais la plage et la chambre c`est du 3 *.
En arrivant au check in ils prennent
$ 200. us sur votre carte de crédit. La salle de bain est tellement petite que lorsque assis sur la toilette on ne peut plus fermer la porte!!!

Great time for relaxation

Hôtel très sympa où l'on connait vite tout le monde. Le personnel est toujours aux petits soins avec les clients. Les Jamaicains adorent parler de leur pays. On apprend beaucoup en parlant avec eux.
La végétation est superbe: faites le Nature Walk avec Liebert le jardinier!
La nourriture est délicieuse et abondante.
Enfin un hôtel où il n'est pas nécessaire de se lever aux aurores pour avoir une chaise et une serviette. Même si l'établissement était rempli lors de notre séjour pendant le Nouvel An, on avait l'impression qu'il n'y avait personne tellement c'était calme par moments.
Si vous n'aimez pas les immenses complexes, vous serez enchantés par le Jewel!

Amazing property, wonderful staff, incredible food, fun, relaxing all inclusive, great rooms with good views. Awesome price best value for the price that we have been able to find. This was our second visit, we loved it so much!

Great trip, friendly staff and excellent food. The New Years eve party was above par, again great food. Lose the photographer on site, not necessary and too expensive. I like no bracelets, lots of towels and loungers. Waiter service on the beach, what more could you ask for (Marlon, very friendly)

We selected the Jewel because it was adults only and five star rated, but we loved it because the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. It's a long but entertaining transfer from the airport, with the driver's patter making the trip go quickly. Check in system made it a breeze. Luggage was dealt with and we sat with a drink in the comfortable lobby until presented with a clipboard to complete. The rooms were beautiful, with new bedroom furniture although our bathroom was tiny, especially the tub, and a little dated as well.
Food was fine, although choices are really just italian, fine dining at the Platinum or the buffet, which was rarely open for dinner. Staff at the Platinum were fabulous, especially Marcia, who made us feel important by remembering our names and having flowers on the table just for us. The garden staff were great. On one walk across the golf course, they scaled a tree and brought us fresh coconut water! The pools were cool (not heated) but beautiful. We loved our stay.

Is truly a Jewel. The staff is amasing and the location is perfect.

We were very happy with this resort. The staff was exceptional. The room was spotless and the food in all of the restaurants was very good. The beach is small but very nice for swimming.

Great hotel, we would go again to the Jewel. Two Suggestions:
1. Get Scotchies to cater one night of authentic jerk chicken.
2. Bring in more local Caribbean fruit (sour sop, guava, etc)

Great food and helpful friendly staff. The beach was nice and clean but fairly small. The nightlife/entertainment was not great. Overall a great vacation place. The resort was beautiful with plenty of recreational options

Staff was really good and the beach was great. It was a little loud around the pool every day from the entertainment staff having a microphone all the time. When we got there they had us in a room beside the service elevator and you could feel the room vibrate evry ten seconds all day. However within 2 days we had a room change and all was well. The food I would only rate as a 3.5 star as there are minimal choices for food at dinner. Only 3 restaurants were open and 1 was extremely small and the buffet, which should be open every night. was always closed.

Nous avons apprécié ces premières vacances en Jamaique bien au delà de nos espérances. La gentillesse, la bonne humeur et l'empressement du personnel de l'hotel faisaient contraste avec tout ce qu'on a pu entendre sur la réputation des jamaicains. Nous sommes allés plusieurs fois au Mexique, en République Dominicaine, à Cuba et en croisière et la qualité du personnel, des repas et des boissons au Jewel nous a semblé supérieure à bien des égards.
La plage est très agréable même si elle n'est pas très longue pour marcher.

Once the 90 minute trip from the airport was behind we a great vacation. The beach was not great for those long walks but everything else(room, meals, service, entertainment) was first class. We've been to Mexico, Dominican, Cuba and this was our first but not last trip to Jamaica. We enjoyed this resort more than any other destinations we've been to. A big ya mon to Mickhugh, Shorty, Jason, Princess, Lisa, Chelsie, Blackie Chang and so many others.

From the moment you step off the bus at the front reception area - you are treated fantastic. Food was very good - bar staff always tried hard to impress each day with a new drink made just for you. Lots of activities all day long - which you can join in or just relax. Everyone should enjoy this resort.

If we can get the same price or better
next year, we will return. Only complaint, was our room view/location.

name only a few. Mystic Mountain is a must do! Sometimes the sun was scarce but it was all good mon!

Hotel was wonderful but Thomas Cooke not so much. Flight was changed two weeks before leaving, into two red-eye flights, with no alternatives or compensation. I'll never use them again.

La nourriture est d'un grand raffinement, tout est santé, jamais d'huile ou de graisse dans le fond des plats.
À noter la propreté des lieux, le montage des tables au resto et buffet est impeccable, aucune tache sur les nappes, napperons.
La tenue vestimentaire du personnel est digne des grands établissements hôteliers.
On sent que les employés de l'hôtel ont plaisir à vous faire plaisir.
Tranquilité des lieux, repos assuré.
La végétation est luxuriante.
Tout est parfait, un hôtel à découvrir.
Un moment inoubliable a été le souper sur le "pier" à la belle étoile avec un saxophoniste talentueux.

Everybody is genuinely friendly and helpful at this resort! I recommend this resort for a comfortable, relaxing a romantic getaway. The Pizza place is phenomenal. Rooms are nice and clean, but if you are expecting something extravagant then this is not for you. Bring enough cash unless you are ok going into the city to cash your travellers cheques. Staff is amazing, lots of activities with nice amenities.
