Hellooo Montego Bay- Jamaica!!! Hellooo Iberostar Rose Hall Suites!!!

We initially wanted to stay at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall because the previous year we stayed at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso in Mexico and we LOVE IT. The Grand Rose Hall was all booked. Our travel agent booked us instead at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites.

When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with a welcome drink at the reception area as we got checked in and got our information. It was a family vacation and also travelling with seniors.

Reception – Easy check in and check out. No problems here. The staff was friendly and courteous! Very professional! Even helped me with my internet questions!

Guest Services – dealt with 2 gentlemen (Wayne and I just can’t managed to catch the name of the other gentleman) they booked my restaurants and provided me with the information for the Christmas Eve Gala Dinner. They even knew which restaurants served what. Steak and seafood were a priority for us in Jamaica!!! LOL. They were very friendly, courteous and professional!

Hotel and grounds– beautiful and always cleaned!! No words to describe it, you just have to see it for yourselves.

Room - it was above my expectations. Oceanfront view and pool area view, located on the first floor and we were pretty much close to all areas of the hotel. We were close to all the pools, the beach, the restaurants and the buffet restaurant. It was amazing especially when you are travelling with demanding family members. They were very IMPRESSED let me tell you!!! The Washroom was huge and had everything even a PHONE!!! Yupe a PHONE!! LOL. Housekeeping does an amazing job and turndown at night is special too. The housekeeper leaves you a little chocolate(s).

Food - was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed the 2 days that we had BBQ lunch at the beach were they served us BBQ jerk chicken and pork. They had a steel band playing and the Star Friends danced to the vibes. If you’re dining at the Mexican al a cart restaurant Roderick is your man! Had an amazing soup and the main course was lobster tail grilled with garlic!!! Yummie!! And Shane is your man at the Mediterranean Restaurant!!! If you love seafood these are the places you need to go. Had surf and turf dish and I couldn’t stop licking my fingers….it was soooo good!!! If you’re a steak buff, Ruby’s Steakhouse at the beach is where you need to be!!! The crew at the Miranda Hill buffet restaurant will treat you well!!! Francine, Rosa, Tracy, and Maricka, are your ladies!!!At Miranda’s you will find everything from the Jamaican food section to pastas, homemade pizza, beef and seafood paellas, fish, cooked meats, side dishes, soups, breads, desserts galore!!! Fresh juices, cheeses and any type of drink or coffee / teas you want!!

Drinks - Drinks were awesome. To get the BEST BOB MARLEY SHOT, see Wilson at the lobby bar!! He will hook you up with the best Bob Marley shots ever!!! Melissa and Dewayne will get you anything you want or give you a suggestion. They even had my favorite drinks, Grand Mariner and Red Port Wine!!! Woo Hoo!!! Orville at the pool bar is who you need to see there!!! Cool beer and sparkling wine (Champagne) were my favs at the pool!!!

Beach – very calm and beautiful, life guards always on duty. Found some rocks and shells that I bought back home. Chairs and umbrella shades everywhere. Great if you want to get some rays or just have a nap in the shape and watch the little ones make sand castles or participate in water aerobics with either Krazy Kenny or Malvin. Music is always playing!! We had a beach party at night with a live reggae band, lots of singing and dancing!! Even a fire show took place.

Pool – The Star friend’s crew always has something going down to do. Water volleyball, water polo, and water basketball in the activity pool and in the infinity pool there is the magic carpet! Hilarious game to watch and not so easy to participate in…..you need to be very FAST! If you want something that is easy going then it’s the lazy river pool you need to be in. They have tubes that you can just hang on or float on and all you have to do is lay back and relax or you can just sit in the whirlpool. If you get an opportunity check out the spa, the wellness pool and Jacuzzi is amazing!!! They have these heated chair beds that so nice to lie on….very warm.

Entertainment - The star friends were amazing with the guests and especially the little ones. Krazy Kenny and his crew did an amazing job!!! Every night at 9ish there would be the nightly event. They had the kids show at 8 and at 9 it was for the adults. It was non-stop entertainment.

Christmas Eve - was super cool, Krazy Kenny’s crew did a super job, they had Santa show up on the beach parasailing!!! I never knew Santa could do all those stunts in the air!!! Hilarious!!! Then he finally made his entrance and gave out gifts to the little ones and guests that were staying at the three Iberostar hotels. I have to say that the staff and management at the Rose Hall Suites, they go ALL out!!! The day was topped off with a Christmas Gala Evening that was the buffet dinner with AMAZING food and ice sculptures and finally the Live Nativity Scene!!! Excellent Work!

Tipping – It is alright to tip the staff. They are very, very grateful, so if you can and the service is good then tip!! Exceptional service was provided during our trip, hence tipping was done; from the bars, restaurants, buffet, beach, housekeeping/turndown and lastly the bellboys. ;))

First time in Montego Bay, first time in Jamaica and definitely going back there again and staying at IBEROSTAR ROSE HALL SUITES!!!! =))) Ps. You can’t go wrong with this hotel chain or this hotel!!

I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to the hotel STAFF and its Management. You are hard working individuals, always putting your guests first. Always with SMILES and sending out HAPPY VIBES!!! Yeah Mon!!!……No Problem Mon!!! Keep up the great work and VIBE atmosphere at this hotel! Sending an “EH” your way from Canada!!!

The hotel itself was in an excellent location, beaches clean, swim up bar was fun, staff very friendly and accommodating. Lots of entertainment. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Wonderful family vacation for one week. Entire family enjoyed and we would recommend for others.

only 20mins from airport.Check in was fast.
Rooms were spacious and clean. we were on 3rd floor and had a nice view of the ocean.
The buffet was great, with a good selection and a Jamaican corner with Jerk and curry.We went to all the a la cartes and loved them all. probably the Mediterranean was our favourite, we had lovely red snapper and a huge lobster.
Didnt have a problem getting chairs at the pool or beach.
only negatives were the quality of the bath towels and dressing gowns, they need replacing.

My wife and I decided to go to Jamaica for our honeymoon, and were extremely pleased with our choice of hotel. We are both picky eaters and the food is amazing. The drinks are made properly and the staff actually enjoy working at the resort. I don't think you can find a better resort for the price. Don't pass this place up!

This was our first time ever doing a resort and it exceeded our expectations; This was our honeymoon plus we attended a wedding while we were there. Staff is very accommodating, friendly, approachable and the food is tasty and a variety of everything. The beach water is soothing, warm and clean. You don`t want to get out once you get in. The pool bar is great. Our room was always cleaned twice a day. 24 hour room service was great. Bar service in the rooms. We can`t wait to go back again. We`re afraid of trying other resorts and being disappointed.

Food is great pools are nice. They need to have more than just one guy raking the beach there was a ton of seaweed all the time. Had to get up at 6am to find lounge chairs near the pool! Thus was our second time there quality has slipped probably won't go back!

We arrived at the Suites Feb 20, 2011 and found that we had been upgraded to the Grand (Adults only). The Grand is beyond expectations, complete with a butler for your floor. The rooms are large, we had a king size bed, sitting area, huge oceanfront view, complete with swing, couch and table..very very nice. You had your choice of pillows from a pillow menu (I kid you not), and a choice of over 100 dvd's, tons of TV channels and we made our reservations via our butler as soon as we arrived. All the restaurants are excellent, we enjoyed the Japanese the best, but let me say all were excellent. Buffet both morning, lunch and evening had a great selection of good food. If you love seafood (and I do) there is plenty (lobsters, mussels, clams, shrimp, sword fish). The service at the hotel was excellent. Orders for drinks are taken around the pool and the beach, so you don't have to leave the comfort of your beach lounge unless you want to. All the liquor is premium brands (grey goose...etc). The Beach grill (Wednesday,Friday)has some great jerk chicken and pork. The beach although not long for walking about 1/2 a mile is great and the water was warm. The only fault was that for some strange reason, people were up at 6am reserving chairs and beach beds at the pool (crazy but true), we had no problem getting a spot at the pool or the beach as my husband likes to get up early..otherwise it would be take what you get. That was the only downside to the place. Internet is free in the room, just have to ask for a cable and the password at the concerige desk and Wifi is free in the lobby. . We enjoyed our stay and this place is going to be hard to top.

one of the best vacations we have taken ever. beaches were lovely, food was great, entertainment, staff, rooms and the list goes on. it's pretty hard to find fault with this resort.I would certainly return and I recommend this to all!

C'est certainement un de nos plus beaux voyages jusqu'à maintenant. Le personnel est vraiment très gentil, on sent de la sincérité dans leur dévouement et leur sourire. Nous sommes prêts à y retourner n'importe quand.

Vraiment satisfaite, d'une propreté remarquable et la nourriture est excellente je vous recommande tous les restos à la carte. Le personnel est super gentil.

Resort very nice, clean and food was good. Beach is great and lots of interesting things to see when snorkeling around the coral reef right off the beach.

Just got back from our honey moon. We are both chefs' and let me say that the food is awesome! Definitely go the fine dinning resto, we went twice! The staff is amazing too, really made us feel at home:) its wasnt that busy, which we loved... no lines, no waiting, great service. Just know that you have to bring the party!!! WE SURE DID! And happily left the resort with 3 bottles of rum from participating in nightly acticities:)and of course the smoke is great, and cheap!

Excellent hotel, exactly as shown in the photos. If you are looking for quiet and relaxation, this is the place for you. If you want to be closer to the real Jamaica, it's better to stay closer to Town, but for us, we can't wait to return to the IRHS.

Fabulous! Loved it completely. 1 week is definitely too short though. Would definitely go back and stay for 2 weeks. Extremely clean. Everyone was fabulous. A must go to place. Loved everything and the staff is simply the best. Ya mon!

It was a wonderful week. Staff were wonderful. Food was great.

Wonderful! We went with 2 adults & 2 kids ages 10 &12 over March Break.
Lots of activities available with entertainment staff, most of which we didn't do, but the choice was up to us. The ones we did were fun & well run. Only ate at buffet so we didn't stress about getting to a dinner reservation on time, and the variety & quality of food for both kids & adults was great.
Lifeguards at beach & pool, and snorkeling in the swim area at the beach was a nice bonus.
Staff were very friendly, we only had 1 issue with our safe on the day of arrival (not the fault of the hotel but of prior room occupant) & it was fixed promptly.
Hotel was extremely clean & well cared for, grounds were beautiful.
We tipped $5 or so per day between airport transfers, bellhops, housekeeping, minibar, meals, & pool bar. We didn't feel it was expected of us at all, but it was appreciated.

Hotel was well run and the beaches were great. The kids camp was excellent for the kids and we had trouble getting them out of the camp for family time as they were having so much fun. I would reccomend this resort.

We had a fantastic time at this resort. We have been to 5 different resorts before and this was the best. The rooms were modern and clean. We had an ant infestation in our room the first night but the next day it was resolved quickly by the front desk. They gave us a new room which was clean. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were traveling with a six month old baby and the staff were very accommodating. The beach was nice but there is a lot of seaweed floating around. The infinity pool is a nice touch and we also enjoyed the lazy river. It is obvious that the staff work very hard to make this resort great. We will certainly go back!

We are family of three: me, my wife and our seven-year old daughter. This was our second trip this year, we stayed at the Rosehall Beach next to the Suites and we'll go come back to this hotel again without any hesitation.

This is a very nice hotel. Close to the airport, very clean, exceptionally managed (Santo, the manager does awesome job). Rooms are large and very clean, fully equipped, from bath robes, new coffe maker, fully stocked minibar, DVD player to spotless bathroom and proper hair dryer (leave yours at home).
Beach is very nice and clean as well, we always could find chairs near the water (though you need to 'reserve' a spot at the swimming pool early). There are three groups of large rocks under water, 20 meters off the beach with lots of sea life: thousands of coral fishes, you can see stingrays, sea urchin, octopus, I saw barracuda and lobster. You don't need a snorkeling tour, just swim a bit from the shore and have fun. Me and my daughter were feeding fishes there. Fantastic experience.
Buffet restaurant was pretty good, lots of options for anyone from seafood lover and red meat eater to vegetarian). Forget about a la carte ones, if you really want them, make reservations right away. They are overbooked.

Entertainment for kids was outstanding, from kids club to mini-disco. Nikeisha and Meisha at the Lucy's club work hard and Star friends: Noodle, Blanka, Monkey, Ras Slick, Carlos and others are absolutely terrific. Kids were all over them and guys were outstanding. My 'RESPEC' to everyone.
Room was cleaned very well, nothing to complain. Check in was done in 5 min.
Folks, remember one thing, you come to relax and have fun, not to demand this or that. Start demanding and you'll be miserable. Relax, adjust to the Jamaican 'no problem' and you'll really enjoy the time. We need to have new glass for coffee maker, I called few times, with no success, I just called manager on duty and asked jokingly for the thing and it was done. No big deal.
One note, when you order drinks at the pool bar, go to the swim-up section, not the upper corner. The upper section is staffed by trainees, ask the same drink ten times, you'll get ten different drinks. :-) Go to the lower section or swim-up and you'll get what you expect. Easy.
That's all, I'll give it 4.5 out ot 5.
My 'wish list': more premim liquors, I wouldn't mind if they have Grand Marnier, some cognac or things like that. They are considered 5 stars after all.

We just love the place and wished for few more days. (By the way, US folks can choose 7, 10 or 14 days. I'd stay for 10 days, why cannot our tour operators do that?

Our trip was fantastic. The service was great. The food amazing. The hotel was extremely clean. My only complaint is the rocky beach. We passed by some other hotels in Montego Bay and none of them looked like they compared to the Iberostar. I will definately return.

The hotel was perfect from start until the end. You get free internet in the lobby, but also, if you bring an ethernet cable with you, you can get free internet in your room too (using the username and password that they use in the lobby internet which you ask for at the front). The rooms were super clean. The beach was really nice. The pool was really nice. The entertainment was the best I have seen. You leave memorizing all their names and with a smile on your face. They don't seem to appreciate tips very much. Very friendly people. The market close by has really good deals (but don't go too far off the resort). Although we went during rain season, it rained only for a few minutes and the sun comes out again.

It was a beautiful location, food and staff were great!

A well run and enjoyable resort, the food was very good and the staff helpful and friendly. The only minor criticism is that the resort is designed to have the majority of dinning and bar facilities indoors. In the Caribbean I like to be outside.
However, having said that, a good resort and one I would recommend.

Very nice hotel, very spacious and clean. Very classy. The food was good and the staff was very friendly. For the first time, we actually enjoyed the entertainment on site. Unfortunately, the sand of the beach, upon entering the water, was full of small rocks which hurted our feet. The best value was indeed to take the suites which allowed us access to the other Iberostar hotel.
