Front desk staff was excellent - went out of their way to be helpful. Spoke very good English. Would have liked entertainment at night at the hotel i.e. music to listen to while having an after dinner drink.

This is my first trip to Europe, and luckily I pick this hotel thru Itravel2000. Read some negative comments, but my own personal experience is total satifaction. I was staying during Jun 9 to Jun 17, arrived early (9 am) and the reception was happy to help me with the check-in, store my luggage, give me an upgrade. The room is clean, I got a view of the Eiffel Tower, room is big and all facilities are new. (apparantly they renovated in 2009). The hot buffet breakfast is more than what I can expected with such a wide selection, the front desk is always helpful, their English is good., and a simple "S'il vous plait, excusez-moi" to start the conversation will help you a long way.

The hotel located right at the centre of Montmatre, Metro is only 2 mins. away. Lots of restaurants around. Moulin Rough is 5 mins. walk. Sacre Coeur is only 20 mins walk away with the beautiful view of Paris, a MUST to visit. All other attractions are just few stops away.

I enjoy my stay, a word of caution, I encoutered 4 occasions of pickpockets in the metro, one actually targeted me, 4 little girls just surround me and rob me, luckily I was alerted and other good Parisian help me to get away. So be VERY ALERT when travelling in the Metro. Otherwise, Paris is such a beautiful city... Enjoy.

We spent 7 days in Mercure Montmartre in April 2009. When we arrived we asked for the room at the higher floors (you can see the Eifel Tower from high floors only). At that time the top hotel floor was under the renovation so when we get in our room the noise was really bad. We decided that the view is less important than the quietness so we asked to change the room and it was done with no problems.

The breakfast buffet was the same all the time, but there is enough variety of food so you can get what you like (the selection runs out quickly so get there before 9:30).

The size of rooms is relatively small (for the spoiled North American standards) but are typical for the European hotels.

All in all the hotel is on good location, it is clean and well maintained. The furnishing is little bit outdated but all is kept clean and the service was good.

We will probably come back, if not in this particular hotel, then in the another one in the Mercure chain.
