 Great Value

Good, The check in went smooth. The the hotel is huge. The trains take a long time to come to go from one part of the resort to the other. I loved the fact that you did not have to make reservations for dinner. They have lots to do on the resort. You do not have to leave the resort to have fun.

 Great rersort

Greated us with hot towels to freshen our face and hands! Jiminez at reception goes beyond call of duty! Food was great. Go see Richard at the concierge desk to reserve all your a la carte restaurant. We tried six of the nine they were all great.

 Grand Palladium Bavaro

This is a very beautiful resort, it is a real shamed that everything shuts down at 7:00. We have never been to Punta Cana and I don't now if this is typical.
I would have really liked to see more activities for young people. We couldn't even find a volley ball to play with at the nets. Again im not sure if it was just the resort but it was march break at there was no pool life after 7 pm. There were hoards of people at dinner and no one out at night...Food is good, however we noticed that everything had a sweet taste to it and that in itself made us ill. I was gratefull when we found that the airport pizza was normal...yay.
My wife and I have spicy taste so that could be our own preference. Everything was well prepared and the staff was great. If you want a quiet and relaxing vacation and you like sweet food you will be in heaven. If your there to have fun and party a bit then I would recommend finding another resort.

 WONDERFULL HOTEL/RESORT

VERY GOOD SERVICE - WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ANY INDIVIDUAL. STAFF VERY HELPFUL AND RECEPTION STAFF EXEMPLARY. ONLY COMMENT CONCERNS THE LIVE SHOWN. THE ELABORATE COSTUMES AT BOTH THE MERENGUE AND THE OTHER VENUE, THE PERSON WHO CONTOLLED THE LIGHTNING FOR THE PERFORMERS SHOULD BE TRAINED AS HAS NO IDEA OF ILLUMINATING THE WONDERFUL COSTUMES THE DANCERS WERE WEARING AND PERFORMING IN. I DO HOPE THE ENTERTAINMENT DIRECTOR TAKE NOTE OF THIS COMMENT.

 Excellent

This our second time at the GPB and didn't disappoint. No sense in wondering where the negative reviews come from, I guess I just don't have those high standards.
Our flight from Calgary was uneventful with the exception of having to sit on the tarmac for 45 minutes because they didn't have a place to park the plane. Not Air Transat's fault.
Transportation to the hotel was fine and made better because we purchased a few Presidente's for the ride. No other drop-offs.
Check in was smooth and both couples got suites next to each other in the Bavaro section 1226 1227. Rooms were awesome and just as I remembered, large living and bedroom area and massive bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and two sinks. No issues at all with either room.
Food was great with lots of selection at the buffet and went to 2 different buffets with the same quality and selection. Took a few minutes when it was busy to get the servers attention but no biggie. Must have been a fairly busy time while we were there but still numerous tables available for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Went to the steakhouse one night and they mixed up our order due to a language problem I would guess, so took an extra 10 minutes to get our food. Our favorite was the Japanese and got a Hibachi table both times which was cool. Great show both times and never made a reservation at either place.
Disco was fun, Sports bar was great and the food was really good especially liked the wings and pizza. Show was ok but I'm not really into dancing so can't really comment on it and only went once, our friends told us the comedy, circus and Michael Jackson shows were good.
Went to Hemingway’s almost every evening for a quiet time and then depending on how we felt we either called it a night or went to the sports bar, disco or lobby as the live music was good.
We used the Dolin dive shop for 3 days and 5 dives total, a little disorganized but the dives were good as was Rod the Dive Master. The sub wreck was pretty cool.
Spent the mornings at the awesome beach and our friends always got a Palapa as they are not sun people, no problems getting a lounger any time. We go to the pool in the afternoon and all pools were busy however we always managed to get loungers for 4 every time we went. Entered a few of the pool contests and had a lot of fun doing so.
Casino was lame but we spent our $10 dollar complimentary chips and left.
All in all a great hotel and really no problems encountered. Didn't like the hotel vendors they were pretty annoying. Nothing to do with the hotel but really didn't like the vendor shops at the resort edge as the were really pushy and insisted we go into their shops, got out of there pretty quick.
Found the servers to be really friendly and eager to please especially when we tipped them.
Would definately go back for a 3rd time but as we travel to different places often it may not be for a few years.

 Beautiful resort / sub-par rooms

This is a beautiful resort, lovely and abundant restaurants, pools and amazing beach. We especially enjoyed the variety of places in the evenings to relax and listen to music. The one drawback was the room -we had plumbing problems and extremely musty smelling linen, door locks that didn't work, terrible pillows (we ended up having to rent pillows at $3 per night) and before insisting on a complete bedding change my husband contracted a fungal infection under his arms from the bedspread. An unfortunate situation for an otherwise lovely resort which means we would not return. Great experience with Dolin Dive Shop and Divemaster Marco - wonderful trip for diving to Catalina Island

Grand Palladium Bavaro (Good vacation value)

I have stayed in PUJ on several occasions and this is one of the most beautiful resorts I have stayed in (best so far was RIU PC Palace but it was more expensive than the Palladium). The resort may want to improve the quality of the meals in their al la carte restaurants. In terms of value for the money, this is an excellent resort. I found the adult spa facilities to be wonderful as was the new pool that just opened on the last day of our holiday. Beach is excellent, lots of shade/sun available.

 Wonderful Ladies Week Away

In comparison to the all inclusive chains we have travelled to before in Mexico & the D.R.(Barcelo,Principe,Las Brisas), Grand Palladium surpasses all of them with rooms, service, cleanliness, staff friendlines,,ala carte restaurants and especially entertainment. Although we were not in one of the recently renovated rooms, our Jr. Suite was huge and beautiful and with the exception of the older, hard double beds and was much nicer than we had expected. Evening entertainment was top quality at the theater show as well as the band every evening in the hotel lobby. The disco was full most nights with all ages as well. Food was good quality if you do not expect top notch American fare - which you do not get anywhere on the island. The ala carte restaurants were our first choice (ate buffet only 1 night)as we are not big buffet fans. Drink quality was good - the beach bar was under staffed and always lined up. A beachside lunch hut was under construction and would have been preferred to going inside to the one buffet offered in the aft. We are planning for next year and the Bavaro section of this hotel would definitely be our first choice again!

 Our trip 2011

The grounds were beautiful but the place was too big for our wants. We had a wedding there and the placement of our group was too far to meet up often. There were 5 pools and most of our family had rooms on the Bavaro, but their rooms were closer to another pool, so that's where they hung out. Way to much walking to sit and relax. The main lobby buffett reastaurant was not open for lunch.

 Very Nice Spot

Was pleasantly surprized with the rooms and hotel. Found the staff and restaurant staff to be very rude at times and show no respect towards their customers. On one occasion at supper i ordered something and they brought the wrong thing to be so i said this is not ours. No problem he took it away only to be brought back in a minutes and i was told it was mine and he put it down and left!!!!! Wow. Every night we went to supper there was something that happenend to ruin the night. This is my second time to Punta Cana and I was very surprised at how big this place is but is layed out not too bad and there is always transporation to get around. The casino is way too small but what do you expact. all is forgotton when you see the beaches though. All in all a great value for the money.

 Liked it a lot

This place was better than expected
Sports club was great if you have kids or are a sports fanatic.
Beautiful well kept grounds . Was big enough to give lots of variety without feeling lost.
Staff was very helpful and when we did have a couple of small problems with our lock , it was dealt with quicker than I could return to my room.
We were offered a room upgrade no charge upon arrival.

 Bel endroit !

 Awesome holiday!

This holiday was my first away and from this experience and what I have heard from other travellers, the bar is set high! We stayed in a junior suite which was an amazing room... huge bathroom, large room, jacuzzi, balcony. Only complaint was the beds were not the most comfy I have ever slept on.
The beach is absolutely amazing with plenty of beach bars and a beach snack shack so you could have lunch right on the beach. The beach is also cleaned daily and is gorgeous and great for swimming. Also, one of the buffet restaurants open for lunch was right near the beach which was super convenient.
The resort was quite large, but we found the walking nice and it was great to have lots to see. Usually anywhere you needed/wanted to go was no more than a 5 minute walk.
There was a great selection of a la carte restaurants all with excellent food. The buffet restaurants always had seating available and an amazing (hundreds of items) selection with a different cultural theme each night.
There are lots of day excursions that can be booked (at extra cost) on the resort with anything from parasailing to dolphins, fishing, dune buggies, catamaran trips, etc... too much to name.
The staff were also very courteous and super friendly. Would definately go back again!

 Grand Palladium Bavaro

Best all-inclusive for value and service. Liked being able to walk to or take the train to the other 2 adjoining Palladiums (Palace and Punta Cana). Lots to do, located on gorgeous stretch of beach. Friendly outgoing staff made our vacation the best yet! Book Air Transat for Imperial Club upgrade, free 30 min Internet daily and use of other 2 Palladium facilities.
