 As expected

I cannot complain, considering the price I paid.
If I wanted better accomidations I know I would have to pay for it.

We really enjoyed our vacation at the Coral Costa Caribe. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and staff cleaned it everyday. We did not have a hairdryer or coffee maker in our room which was a bit of a dissappointment but nothing we couldn't live without. Food was really good and there were many choices. We loved all the ala carte restaurants.The pools were well kept and the bartenders where really great especially at the garden bar. If you want a nice place to vacation with no frills I would recommend this hotel. Good value for the price.

 Ok

Thought hotel was a 4 star but found it to be about a 2.5 star. No fridge in room. Traveled with a baby so stuck baby food on air conditioner because no fridge.Only given 2 500 mls bottles daily.

 A dissappointing vacation for the family

After a 3 hour drive from the airport (not 90 minutes as stated) We found the hotel to be dirty and run down.
We asked for ocean view/ 2 double beds / joining rooms as we had 2 boys with us and a balcony. Most important to us was joining and balcony which we didn't get. While we were checking in, the girl said to come back tomorrow to switch. So we went when she said and they said come back in a few hours so we did. Then they said come back tomorrow. We decided at that point to just give up and not worry about it....except while we were going to our room, someone was checking into the room ajoining ours with a balcony. Back down we went. We asked why we couldn't have had the room joining ours as someone else had just checked in and they said they had asked for it. So we asked if those people had paid more money to get what they wanted....of course not.
The manager ended up moving us to 2 balcony rooms with king size beds which had double size sheets on it so by morning you were sleeping on the bare matress...which was kind of gross.
One morning as we went for coffee...there was human feces in the stairwell. For 2 hours nobody cleaned it up so I had to finally tell someone it was there.
The layout of the buffet is not great, you are tripping over people because of posts and walls they have in the way.
The kitchen area was disgusting and dirty. Most times you had to go find your own cutlery and napkins. Our boys went to get a pop one day and were told to go sit down...and then nobody came to get them one. The food itself wasn't bad, and mostly the people were friendly.
The beach was not beautiful by any means but it was kept pretty clean by the resort.
The vendors were the worst I've ever seen at my vacations and were constantly trying to sell you something.
We made the best of it and still had a decent vacation with our boys. Considering the stars were better on this resort compared to our last trip, we truly expected a better resort. We won't go back to this one.

 Coral costa caribe

The hotel was very clean ,but the toilet plug up twice and no fridge for cold water to drink in the room . The lobby attendant had no money to change 20 dollar bil . The hotel from puta Cana was too too far from the airport to drive on those bad roads .

Mise a part notre mauvaise experience que ayons du changer de chambre au debut de notre sejour, ce fut asser agreable.
Marleen nous avait promise une chambre pour le Dimanche 5 jours apres notre arrivee, mais nous avons pu changer de chambre que lundi finalement.les chambres sont ordinaire avec des lit asser ferme mais propre.
Les chambre sont fait asser tard en journee a environs 3 ou 4hrs pm et les servittes ne sont pas toujour changer.

Nos amis (2 autres couples) on eu une chambre avec de la moisissure et ont du se battre pour avoir eux aussi une autre chambre, l'autre couple on pratiquement eu aucune eau pour se laver du a une defectuosite d'une pompe qui n'etait toujour pas reparer a notre depart.

Les retaurants sont tres bon.
La plage est bien entretenu, mais les vendeurs un peu arcelant, eviter de marcher vers l'ouest a l'heure du souper il y a un type avec une machette qui essaie de vous vendre des coco a tout prix et si vous refuser il s'enerve avec sa machette.

Le snack bar est excellent poulet et frite.

Piscine l'eau etait douteuse et le spa definitivement l'eau etait trouble.

L'hotel est un peu defraichit coter toiture et boiserie si rattachant et dans certaine chambre.

Le perssonels des resto et buffet sont amical surtout Odalis au buffet, vous pourrez le reconaitre a ces expressions "acuna
matata et alleluya".

L'excurssion a l'ile Saona etait tres bien.

Si votre chambre n'est pas insister pour la faire changer pour une autre.
Je croit que certaine chambre ont ete renover mais la majoriter ne le sont pas.

 Second visit to Costa Caribe

I am a senior, 65 and was there Apr/2010 alone to play some golf and enjoy the Carribean. Excellent golfing close by with free shuttle. I was pleasantly pleased with level of service, food, atmosphere and condition of hotel, it was not more or less than I expected after reading reviews. I went this time for a month, my wife joined me for the last week, she also was pleased with the hospitality and that our day to day needs were being met. This is not a 5 Star, but nor are you paying for one. I explained that to my wife and there were no let downs. I insisted on, and was placed in a ground floor room away from disco. The buffet was more than adequate for 3 meals a day, variety, quality, freshness and pleasant hardworking staff to make us comfortable. I also enjoyed the mostly European mix of travelers, many of whom spoke English and made terrific dinner companions while I was there alone. We are very experienced travelers and will return again.

 13years coming here

I still love coming here with my family but it is not as nice as when I first started coming and 50 percent worse than 3 years ago. Good staff who been there long time need to be recognized. Great to see my old friends again. My daughter is ready to come back again too. Change shows themes too. Same ones all the time.

We arrived at 5am after 10hrs travel and were told since we didn't arrive day before they did not have a room for us. after about an hour they found us a room. Looked like it had been used. cigarettes on the deck, shampoo i sthe shower, beds not clean. Bathroom smelled like sewer the whole time. A staff member from phot shop tried to convince our 8 year old son to go to the snack bar and get him a hotdog since it was free for us. I told manager of phot shop and then the staff member came and found me and yelled at me saying why was I going to his boss and complaining and bla bla. Food at the buffet was good but exactly same each day. The cook on the omlette bar was execellent, we tipped him nicely. Cleaning staff for rooms were very good after first day. Very polite and accomodating. Was disappointed that the add said only 15 minutes from the airport. This was true but we flew into Punta Cana - 3 hours away. Driver back to airport was very nice, took us through a couple of towns on the way.

 Hotel surement bientôt en faillite...

Ce n'est pas un 4 étoiles maximum 2.5. Nourritures pas très diversifiées. Nous avons eu meilleur prix l'an passé au Be Live Hamaca et meilleurs repas. Dans la description nous étions supposé avoir un réfrigérateur et une cafetière,on nous as fais patientés pendant 3 jours nous retournions à la réception on on nous disais revenez à 17:00hrs on auras une nouvelle chambre pour vous et non....on nous niaisais à tous les jours. Nous avons eu une cafetière au bout de 3 jours. Des jours on avait des serviettes dans la salle de bain d'autres jours il fallait aller les chercher. Les planchers étaient très sales il faillait porter des bas après la douche. Très décevant cet hotel nous y retournerons plus c'est sur.

 Disappointed

When I got off the bus I was quite shocked that this was the place I had picked. Our rooms were not ready, we had a 4 hour wait for the room. Toilet leaked all over the floor from the tank, most of the toilets in the facility did not flush properly, and they were very skimpy with supplying towels, could only get 1 hand towel for the 2 of us, and if we did not put our bath towels on the floor they did not change them. :( Not much we could do but go with the flow and enjoy our stay, but would not go back to this resort, spoiled after staying at Barcelo Resorts.

 Negative in general

Avoid at all costs. You’ll be disappointed. When I road negative comments before booking, I was under impression that it happen to some random guys. No, it’s not the case! Everyone I spoke to during our stay, have the same kind of problems. It looks like hotel is not investing any money for couple of years: not enough towels, cups, dishes plates, and plumbing broken in almost every room, poor variety of food, service limited....you name it... Be careful, I think this hotel (owners) will get bankrupt at any given moment. Don’t book an advance!!! And be ready for surprises ....

 Awful hotel. maximum 2 stars

it does not seem to be a hotel but a motel. the sheets are not changed. Out of 6 elevators, only 2 are running. It does not look at all as in the photos. The Hamaca hotel costs the same and that is a truly 4.5 stars hotel. I had to be changed 3 times from the room. Something was always wrong, rooms dirty, a/c not working, TV as old as me.

In short, we got at least what we expected. The resort is a three-star, but really quite comfortable. The food was good, much better than I would have expected from a three-star. The room was dated (probably hasn't been renovated in 20 years) but functional and clean. Staff at the resort was, for the most part, very helpful and friendly. No problems with Sunwing flight, tours or arranged transportation. The SunWing representative at our hotel was very helpful. Very nice beach at the resort. Just avoid the "welcome breakfast" (it's a pitch to sell the IVC VIP club).

 2 star

this hotel is NOT a 3 1/2 star. the rooms smelt of mold. we had a leaking toilet that flooded our room. also one day it would not flush at all. the lights dint always work. bed linens were only changed the day before we left so they were on the bed for 6 nights. we had to ask repeatedly for towels, floors were filthy, would havbe a shower only to get dirty feet just getting back to the bed to get dressed.in defense of the hotel they did act to our requests in a timely fashion.

 Disappointed

was disappointed with the bathroom. had the toilet looked at 4 times as it would not flush properly,also one day there was no water ,and twice had to have a shower in cool(not cold)water.

 Hotel correct sans plus !!

nous avons séjourné a cet hotel du 11 au 18 avril 2011. belle température(1 seule soirée de pluie).un peu décu de la température de l'océan l'eau etait plutot froide,mais la plage était belle.La nouriture était excellente, le personnel agréable et l'hotel etait correct,quoique un peu vieux.c etais plutot bruyant la nuit jusqu a 4 heure du matin mais bon.la plus grosse deception est le transport pour s y rendre...plus de 5heure15 pour y aller(travaux de construction et heure de pointe)

 Great Time for everyone!

This hotel is older and the rooms not up to date or modern, but they are clean and comfortable! Hot water, comfy clean bed, clean towels and a toilet that works...what else do you need?
The food is fantastic. I am a fussy eater and could always find something I really enjoyed at the buffet for all meals, but the ala carts are out of this world.
Drinks are not watered down and you can get them as strong as you like, or as weak.
The people are what make this hotel from the maids to the gardeners to the management to the waiters and waitress's to the bartenders to all the Chocolate Friends! Everyone makes you feel at home and at ease! You can do as little as you want or partake in all the offered activities. You decide...no pressure
The beach is beautiful, clean and there are always chairs available. The staff at water sports go out of their way to make your dreams of scuba diving, snorkeling or even the banana boat come true.

If you have a lousy time at this hotel, I would say it is your fault! Take the time to get to know the staff and enjoy your stay! I have come to this hotel alone and had a great time as well.

 Overall a good vacation

We found the hotel to be a 3 1/2 star as compared to several other hotels we have been to in the D.R. Avoid the C block of the hotel if you like quiet as the disco is loud and lasts all night. But we had no problem changing rooms. Miniputt made of cement only! No good. Beach good for walking and collecting shells. Nightime shows were the worst we have seen so far. Beach snack bar bad. Buffet restaurant adequate. Did not get sick at all though and tried most everything. Rooms just adequate and water just hot enough to take a shower.
Get a good price and it's worth it.

Nous voyageons de 2 à 3 fois par hiver et je suis agréablement surprise de la qualité des services et de l'endroit pour le prix. La nourriture est excellente et l'endoit et "super". Nous avons eu de très belles vacances.

 A 4 star Hotel it should be rated to 2 star Motel

Poor maintenance of the rooms, some rooms were closed for a long period of time resulting to have a bad osmell. I do not believe the ded sheets were changed fequently.

Overall good. But lack of hot water was a problem. Rooms are getting a little long in the tooth. Toiliets did not work well. The beach and pools and dining were very good.
