Tres bel hotel ! Restaurant a la carte super. On mange tres bien, bon buffet tres varie meme des sushis. Il y a des algues dans la mer mais la plage est belle. Pour ceux qui ont été a Cuba la plage est plus belle a Cuba. Le staff est gentil, par contre il ne parle pas tres bien en anglais ce qui nous permet de pratiquer l'espagnol. Le seul point negatif c'est qu'ils ferment les lumieres du Bar au lobby le soir apres 11h30. Il dervait les laisser ouvertes pour ceux qui veillent tard. J'ai adoré mon voyage j'en ai eu beaucoup plus que ce que je pensais. Qualite prix excellente

Il y a eut quelques problèmes dans la salle de bain :
- ampoule brûlée - femme de ménage s'en est occupée sans aucune intervention de notre part.
- eau qui coule du plafond à cause du climatiseur - un petit mot et la femme de ménage s'en est occupée immédiatement.
Donc, service excellent.
Buffet très bon.
Machines à café permet des cafés sans attente quand on le désire. Très bon.
Pas ou très peu d'attente au bar. Pour certains jus, on peut même se servir soit même.
Personnel généralement souriant.

Conseil aux voyageurs:
Apporter des trucs achetés au magasin à $1. Maquillages pour femmes. Jeux pour enfants,... et laisser quelques cadeaux chaque jour à la femme de ménage. Elle va vous aimer et vous serez aux petits soins. Il faut spécifier sur un bout de papier que c'est un cadeau pour elle afin qu'elle ne soit pas accusée de vol. Elles sont fouillées lorsqu'elles quittent les hôtels.

Very nice resort. Very large, but the transportation was wonderful. Beach was very rough and windy, but enjoyable. Excursions were excellent. Lobby staff was a bit uppity.

service was terrible,rude staff, the front disk have bad management I ask waiter for glass of water he told to go and get it and so many incident,like no beach towels no water in the room,its funny the sweeper stand at front door at beach restaurants as host. never go back

Excellent hotel rapport qualité prix. La quote de 5 étoiles attitré à cet hôtel est dû aux sections Ambar et Esmeralda qui eux sont des endroits exclusifs dans ce ressort exclusif. Si par contre vous resterez au Punta Cana ou au Bavaro attendez vous plus à un Ressort 4 à 4.5 étoiles. La plage était superbe et le personnel incroyable. Le site est gigantesque - fait pour ceux qui aiment marcher. Les chambres sont un peu désuètes mais on s'entend bien que nous n'allons pas là bas pour la télé ou l'air conditionnée. Ceci dit par contre, les appareils électroniques dans les chambres sont dû pour un remplacement urgent - surtout la télé dont les couleurs sont tous des tons différents du vert. Finalement, nous avons eu le droit à 3 réservations dans des restos à la carte pour le souper, en ce qui concerne les 18 autres repas (7 petits déjeuners, 7 dîners, et 4 autres soupers) les choix étaient restreints au buffet du Lobby ou au resto au bord de la mer... À recommander des petits snacks bar un peu dispersés sur cet énorme site afin de permettre un peu plus de diversité. Cet hôtel est à recommander 100%, nous sommes revenus tous enchantés et y retournerons sans hésitation.

We had a wonderful stay at Bavaro, Bahia Principe. There were absolutely zero complaints. The only thing that I disliked about it was the beach was very crowded and narrow, however, it did not affect our vacation at all. The beach was great for a long morning walk/run.

First of all Punta cana is Amazing and so are the local people, the staff went beyond for us, but the cleaness of our room was awful we had cock roaches all over our room, in our bathrrom in the dressers all over my diaper bag, as for the hotel it has gone way down it is no loger a 5 star, it should be rated as a 3 star our bathroom shower head sprayed all over the place it would soack the floor and our alarm clock got changed 5 times and still didnt work, the a la cartes all of them were buffet, they were not good, there is nothing for children to do, a very small pool for kids, and no splash pad, as for the dominicans they are AMAZING People, as for the tourists that were in the hotel, They were aweful, they stole our seats, they were rude and ignorant and mouthly, they stole towels and stuff out of my beach bag, i do not not recommend this resort for families, i do however recommend the BARCELO BAVARO PALACE DELUXE OR IBEROSTAR OR THE MAJESTIC, i have stayed in all and they are amazing for familes of singels or coupels.....

The Gran Bahia Principe Bavaro is a fabulous property. It has gone over and above our expectations. The food was spectacular and the staff all went out of their way to ensure that our vacation was enjoyable.
We would recommend this property to all who are considering visiting to Punta Cana.

If you read bad reviews about this place...these people are "unpleaseable."We had a great trip and this place is very clean and the staff are very friendly. Always had someone bringing us water and asking if we wanted drinks at the buffet. 3 and 4 people would be either coming to bring or take plates away and not expecting a tip. This was way better service than we ever received in Cuba, Mayan Riveria, or Jamaica. The beaches and water are the best we have ever seen.
TIPS: BRING BUG SPRAY, LOT OF BUG BITES AT NIGHT WATCHING ENTERTAINMENT. BUT ENTERTAINMENT WAS GREAT. EXCELLENT MICHAEL JACKSON IMPERSONATOR. GET THERE EARLY FOR SEATS... SMOKING WAS BAD EVERYWHERE BUT THERE ARE LOTS OF PPL WHO STILL SMOKE.. GO FIGURE! BRING ROOM SPRAY... LIKE FEBREEZE AS THE ROOMS ARE EXTREMELY MUSTY SMELLING AND THE AIRCONDITIONING WAS NOT OVERLY COLD BUT WORKED WELL. BRING LOTS OF SUNSCREEN AS WE HAVE NEVER APPLIED SO MUCH AND STILL BURNED. MEGA TRUCKS EXCURSION WAS GREAT... FOR SUNQUEST ONLY BUT THERE ARE OTHERS JUST NOT CALLED MEGA TRUCKS... THEY DID ASK FOR DONATIONS FOR THE SCHOOL.. DID NOT LIKE THAT AS THAT HAS NEVER BEEN ASKED IN MEXICO, ETC... DID BRING LOTS OF ITEMS FOR THE KIDS AND MAIDS. LIKE MAKEUP AND BRING OLD CLOTHES, SHOES, ETC AS THEY WILL GLADLY TAKE THEM OR YOUR TOUR GUIDES WILL TO GIVE TO THE LOCALS.. AMERICAN MONEY IS ALL YOU NEED.. BARGAIN WITH THE SELLERS AS THEY TRY TO RIP YOU OFF LIKE ANYWHERE...POOL AND BEACH CHAIRS ARE RESERVED LIKE PPL THINK THEY ARE ROYALITY... JUST TAKE THEIR TOWEL OFF IF YOU SEE THEY DON'T COME BACK FOR A LONG TIME AS THIS IS RIDICULOUS... WE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM GETTING CHAIRS AT THE BEACH... OOHH.. THIS HAS BEEN THE FIRST TIME THAT PPL THAT WORK THERE HAVE BEEN SO INTERESTED IN LEARNING ENGLISH... SO WISHED I HAD BOUGHT EXTRA SPANISH/ENGLISH DICTIONARIES WITH ME TO HAND OUT TO THEM. AIRPORT WAS EASY TO GET IN AND OUT OF.. ONE OF OUR BEST VACATIONS OVERALL :)

Can't say enough about the staff at this resort. We were 2 families travelling with an 11 month and 9 month old. The staff went out of there way to accomodate at means and even stop to make friends with the kids. Although the size of the resort is quite big we found it walkable the whole time and knew the trolleys would be by if necessary. Only negative is the lack of alcohol in the rooms. For those with a longer journey to the bar this could be frustrating. Take a bottle of your favourite for the room and yoou are covered.

Good experience overall staying at this resort. It is very big - like 5 hotels in one so lots of walking but a shuttle is available. Entertainment was always good during the day/evening. Lots of activities to do at the beach/pool. Casino/kareoke bar are fun. Not a big party atmosphere after the shows are over at night. Mexican and Japanese a la cartes were good but not the French. Met lots of other couples as we were a couple travelling alone. Would go back to Punta Cana but to a smaller resort.

Booked Bahia Principe for a family vacation with my wife and two boys aged 12 and 14. The Sunquest/Thomas Cooke staff were fantastic. very helpful and ready to answer questions and offer advice and assistance. once at the hotel we were pleased with the efficency of the check in process with very friendly staff. Our room location was perfect (Villa 23) - close to pool and beach. The room is just okay. No real complaints but it was lacking when compared to the rooms at the Esmeralda. for example the fridge only kept the water and beer cool at best. the AC barely worked and as a result the humidity in the room was so high that everything constantly felt damp. Minor complaints and certainly nothing that would spoil our trip. The restaurants were good with only one exception - the seafood place is garbage. The staff at the resort staff are excellent and very friendly. The resort is huge which might be a turn off for some. The beach is packed daily and makes it impossible to move around or to just chill out and relax. The pool isn't quite as packed but it is very busy. The pools away from the beach are a little more civilized. We got up at 6:30am every day in order to get to the pool and reserve chairs. Unpleasant but necessary if you want a good spot. The breakfast buffets were very good while the lunch buffets were just okay. For dinner buffets i would suggest that you get to dinner before 8:30. Should you choose a later dinner you'll be faced with picked over food that is lacking in freshness. We learned early and after one unfortunate experience our meals only got better. The a la carte restaurants were all very good. All in all we had a great time, enjoyed Punta Canada (lots of Canadians) and will likely go back.

Très très grand site, mais facilité de déplacements par les navettes qui passent régulièrement. Et il y a toujours possibilité de marcher.
Le buffet pour déjeuner/dîner/souper est climatisé et il n'est pas à aires ouvertes. Très bien. Très grand choix et très bon. Un truc: ne pas mettre de tout dans notre assiette...se composer un repas normal et le repas suivant, changer de menu ! On se lasse donc moins vite et on apprécie.
Nous avons fait le resto Garden Gril, l'Italien et l'Asiatique avec le cuisinier qui prépare la bouffe pour 12 personnes. Pour nous, tout était vraiment bien. Le personnel est vraiment gentil.
Il y a également 3 snacks pour le midi qui sont au bord de la mer - choix plus restreint qu'au buffet, mais tout de même bien.
Pour les pourboires, nous laissions $1. et quelques petits cadeaux le matin et ce fut grandement apprécié par les dames qui nettoyaient la chambre. Pour le buffet ou les snack, nous laissions $1. sur la table. Et pour les restos, il y a souvent plusieurs personnes qui s'occupent de nous, alors nous laissions $5.
Très grand et beau lobby pour la soirée pour prendre un bon café ou un bon drink.
Il y a également le Casino ... plusieurs machines à $0,01 !!! Donc, possibilité de d'amuser sans se ruiner !
Il y a un local Internet ($12./1 heure) ou si vous avez votre portable, il y a le wi-fi dans le lobby, c'est donc gratuit.
Le magasinage au Pueblo Principe... ils sont envahissants et demandent très cher, mais on négocie. Il y a aussi les marchands sur le bord de la mer et avec eux, on peut vraiment plus négocier.
Pour la plage, c'est un hic. Le complexe est vraiment grand, alors sur la plage, ce n'est pas trop intime. Par contre, nous avons toujours eu un palapas étant donné que nous allions déposer nos serviettes avant le déjeuner, avant 8hres/8hres30. Et la mer, tout de même belle, mais avec pas mal de vagues.
Pour avoir fait plusieurs complexes en République Dominicaine, le Gran Bahia Principe Bavaro est un très bon rapport qualité/prix.
C'est certain que nous le recommandons.

A nice looking resort. But way too big! And the worse part is that there is no security staff for the sprawling resort. Three days before we were to leave, someone broke through the 2nd floor balcony (seriously, it's a 15 foot climb) broke through the patio door and stole iPod and camera AS WE WERE SLEEPING!!!! Management clearly didn't care. Someone will be badly hurt, raped or killed one day! When we were there the week of February 20 2012, someone else was robbed of all their cash when they were away from the room. BEWARE!!!!!! To add insult to injury, they charge you $4 US a day for rental of the safe! Money grabbing rats! And don't get me going on the food! Good cafeteria food. NOT A 5 STAR RESORT---FOR SURE!!!!

This is the worst food I have ever had. I lived off of bread and 7 dollar bags of doritos. The room was dirty and the beach was far away. Do not go here no matter what other reviews tell you. Even the a la cartes were brutal. We were duped by terms like "junior suite" and "premier section" (which is the worst one)

We are two seniors and were booked on the 3rd floor, to many steps with No hand rail.Complained. Changed to ground floor.Room very overrated.Evaluation 2*.
Food and overall service 4*

Huge resort, grounds were kept clean and beautiful, rooms were spacious and clean, too many small kids that should stay at the kids pool but were everywhere. Staff were friendly and worked real hard. Beach was beautiful but needed periodic cleanup of the seaweed that is washed up to shore. Food not too bad.

This resort is slightly, but deceivingly 4 resorts in one. It is huge, impersonal but immaculately maintained. You will get a workout walking the complex, or spend time waiting for shuttles.
Beautiful pools and beaches are available if you get to them by 6 - 7 am (assuming you'd like chairs).
Food was a 3 out of 10, maybe 2.

It's a big resort but everything was above our initial expectations. Cust service is good (some staff do not speak English but it's not a big deal). Rooms, pool and grounds are all well kept. Food is good.
