Beach was beautiful. Adult pool catered to excessive drinking, hooting, hollering and rowdyness. Was awaken every night of my stay by drunken yahoos or fights in the middle of the night. Buffett food was not good. Service at buffett was not good either. I was expecting more!!

Great family trip. Nice resort, but showing its age

We had an absolutely amazing week. The food, accommodations, the beach and all the Dominican workers were awesome. They were so friendly and helped us whenever needed.

Great hotel, Very well kept, staff was great at cleaning it and making it look nice. Food was not too good and all of our family members got sick. Either from the water or food that was served. We had to visit the hospital twice during our stay and it put a damper on our vaccation. Talking to other people at the same resort we found out that alot of people were getting sick as well.
I think this hotel should look into preparing their food carefully.

I was thoroughly overwhelmed by the hospitality. We had great room service and the buffet food selections were very good.

5TH time to this resort and love it. We were in the same room over looking the ocean as last year. The staff are very friendly. Can't wait to go back next year

Overall happy with the hotel. Beds were uncomfortable though.

The only negative of the vacation was Spring Break for quite a few so it was very noisy and did not appreciate drunks on beach and around the pool

Pour notre part, nous avons été agréablement surpris par l'hotel!
Très belle hotel, belle chambre avec toit cathédrale. Très bon restaurants particulièrement le Paris et le Japonais.Plage superbe.
Nous avons payé le supplément pour les chambres rénovés (premium) et ça vaut vraiment la peine...de vrai 4,5 étoiles. Seuls points négatifs....Les chambres non rénovés ressemblent plus a motel "cheap" des années 70.Et nous aurions aimé avoir plus de mélange de jus avec de vrais fruits.
Nous vous recommandons fortement cet hotel!

Très beau complexe et bien aménagé. Les distances sont pas trop longues entre les piscine, resto etc et les chambres. Idéal avec jeunes enfants !

For the price, it was more than adequate. The rooms were kept very clean(probably because we made sure to tip everyday.) The beaches were beautiful and it was not overcrowded. We were always able to get a beach chair and pool chairs with no problem at all. The food was good and there was a lot of variety because of the 6 a la cartes. The staff was very friendly and always helpful.

Prestige Class is not an upscale room or service at all. We were in Bldg 2 which is one of the renovated bldgs but it is not great. Our door had a 1"gap at the top of the door. We came back from the beach one afternoon and our door was being sprayed with urathane and our room was filled with the smell of the chemical. We had to air out our room and leave for a bit so we didn't breath that in. I am sure the gap at the top of the door didn't help. Ants were all over the room. We were a family of 4 and we only received 2 towels for the beach and the pool. Called front desk three times and still didn't get any more towels. We had to walk to the front desk and demand towels. Fridge was filled 2x the whole week we were there. Requested to change rooms becuase we were right behind the club/theatre and the noise would go to 3-4am every night. We have 2 kids but the resort didn't care and didn't move us. Spoke to Air Transat rep and still didn't get moved.

Buffet was hit and miss. Practically had to chase staff down to get utensils and glasses of water. Tips didn't go far in this place. It seemed as though it was expected from the staff but they didn't want to work for it.

Kids club was great. Kids loved the trapeze and the trampoline and the family pool area. The main pool with all the activities was filled with spring break kids and the water was disgusting. These teenagers/university students were allowed to funnel beers at pool side. Loved that my 9 year old son was exposed to that.

I will never go to a Barcelo Resort again.

An excellent resort. Just don't go during the American and Canadian University breaks diaster.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at any resort. I am so upset for being sold a package to my family of two children to this resort as a 4 star family resort when it was clearly a 2 star week at a wild University resort. I will be asking for a full refund for the following reasons; I did not sleep all week due to screaming students; nakedness; vomitting everywhere, blood in elevators, broken bones, black eyes, drunk students falling everywhere. Never mind the rudeness my husband experienced by the students as well as did many of the other travellers. This resort has lost of a lot of adult paying travellors that will never return due to this bad experience. I paid full price for a 4 star and experienced a 2 star party resort. This was a thoroughy discusting experience that I have video taped and will be releasing to media as a "family" March break sham. my entire family and all the families that had to experience this terrible resort. Can you even try to imagine how it would be to be sitting at the pool with your kids and hearing the DJ for the University students offering up a contest entitled who can do the most sex postitions?? The beach was beautiful; however the staff were stressed, frustrated and overworked due to the rude behaviour of all the students at the resort. Staff listened to complaints by us and other adult visitors however nothing was ever done about the all night noise in the hotel. The management at this hotel made a very bad decision in hosting a University party at a "family"resort. They have lost many potential family visiotrs that won't be going back or referring this resort to anyone.

Afin de vous mettre en contexte, moi et ma conjointe voyageons tous les ans ou a peu près durant la même semaine soit celle de relâche généralement en Février.

Nous avions opté pour l'option prestige donc près de $200 de plus afin d'obtenir...un bracelet différent des autres et apparemment une chambre plus moderne. Pour le reste, aucun avantage. On nous avons avisé que nous aurions droit aux restos à la carte sans à avoir à faire la ligne tous les matin: Faux. On nous avait avisé que nous aurions droit à notre frigidaire rempli tous les jours: Faux. On nous avait avisé que nous aurions d'autres avantages sur le site: Faux. Bref, ne gaspillez pas votre argent pour cette super option.

Nous avons étés totalement désappointés par notre expérience au Barcelo Premium.

Reçus dans la plus grande indifférence et désorganisation lors de notre arrivée, notre chambre ne fût prête que seulement vers les 18h00 après avoir mis de la pression sur le gérant.. autrement on y serait encore je crois. Nous n'étions pas au bout de nos peines, car la chambre obtenue possèdait 2 lits doubles et sentait tout ce que ne devrait pas sentir une chambre d'hotel respectable. NOus avons dû ouvrir la porte patio et la porte de chambre durant plusieurs heures avant de pouvoir sentir autre chose que la cigarette et les égouts.

Côté nourriture, nous avons vu rarement pire. Le buffet était infecte, les plats souvent vides et prenait énormément de temps avant qu'on les remplace ou remplisse. D'une saleté épouvantable, je ne pouvais imaginer de quoi avait l'air les cuisines. Les restos à la carte étaient ok si votre pêché-mignon est d'aller au restaurant Le Vieux-Duluth...

Sachant bien que c'était la semaine de relâche, nous nous attendions évidemment à un peu de casse vu que les étudiants en profite pour faire la fête mais ce que nous avons vu et vécu n'avait aucun sens. Plusieurs plaintes venant de plusieurs dizaines de familles et couples ont étés faites durant le cours de la semaine mais sans résultats. Un vrai zoo.

Coté positif, la mer et la plage fut notre exil durant la semaine. magnifique! Mais j'ai bien peur que ce soit tout ce qui peut être caractérisé de magnifique à cet hotel.

Bref, je ne retournerai jamais au Barcelo Premium (Premium shit) comme disait si bien ma conjointe.

Ne gaspillez pas votre argent. Il y a tellement d'hotels et d'endroits à visiter dans le sud.

Le Barcelo Premium catégorisé 4 étoiles? laissez-moi rire.

We enjoyed our 2 week stay at Barcelo Punta Cana and will be back for another vacation. The food was great, alot of variety, the restaurants were also excellent, beach was beautiful.
Staff and service were also very good, we have no complaints.
The only thing I would like to see is more cappuciano makers at the other bars and available earlier in the morning.
We are looking forward to our next visit to Barcelo Punta Cana.

Hotel is nice. We were lodged in the older part yet decent. Buffet food is good and tasty. A la carte restaurants food was quite good and personnel is friendly and eager to please. Hotel reception was adequate and fast.
Beach is impeccable.
Only very negative was that hotel was invaded by youths on march break. Witnessed some animal acts and very loud ans stupid behaviour. Shouting and partying until 03:00 or 04:00 in morning, with room doors banging to booth.
Not sure hotel security really cares that much. My wife and I will never go back south during march break. And if I went beck to this place, I would ask for a room located to the front of the hotel rather than ocean view for more peace and quiet at night.

Expected a little better of the room for 4 star. Did not get the room i requested and was disappointed. Room needed some upgrading as i was in the older section of the building. There were never enough towels provided or they did not have any available when needed.

I had a great time -met many friendly staff and believe me they can make or break a vacation for a single person.

When we first checked in it was a bit of a nightmare... we were given a room with two double beds - we went as a couple - our phone didn't work and neither did the lights. After 3 visits to the reception desk they provided us with a new room. This room had 1 king bed - much better - and a great view. The bathroom leaked but nothing major. The staff were excellent very friendly and were easy to communicate with for the most part. The food was good and there was always something to do during the day.

Overall it was great. The beach was amazing and the service was outstanding.
We had a little issue with the room the first night and eventhough it took a little longer to get fixed, it was the only incident and after that was just pure bliss. We totally recomend this resort if your not picky about food. The a la carte restaurants were very nice but the buffet did not have that much variety. But as I said overall it was great.

Great resort. This was our 3rd time there. Beach is super clean and staff is so friendly and helpful. Weather is always great. Lots of restaurants to choose from and food is good. Always a great vacation. Great value for what you pay for.

Had an amazing time... Would be coming back in a few years....the whole holiday with this hotel was very relaxing and peaceful

Voyage en famille. À notre arrivée vers 14h, les chambres n'étaient pas prêtes. De plus, nos ados n'étaient pas dans le même bâtiment que nous. Nous avons eu accès aux chambres à 16h seulement. Par contre, après plusieurs argumentations, le lendemain, les chambres n'étaient pas une à côté de l'autre mais au moins dans le même bâtiment. Les chambres de luxe classe prestige étaient acceptables mais plutôt 3*, la propreté de la salle de bain était minime, j'ai pris ma douche avec mes gougounes toute la semaine! Par contre, serviettes disponibles sans problème même serviettes de plage. Nous avons eu recours au service de concierge pour débloquer la toilette et le service a été rapide et efficace. Très bruyant pour dormir beaucoup de bruit lorsque la porte de la chambre donne sur l'atrium. Plage magnifique, forfaits excursions très dispendieux pour les familles. Buffet acceptable, resto à la carte moyen à l'exception du japonais très bon. En général beau site de vacances mais plutôt classé 3* pour ma part.

This was the 17th country I visited in 2011. I was not impressed with hotel rooms at all. Very runned down: leaky ceiling, tv doesn't work, power outages left people stuck in elevators, water shut offs during the day, toilets didn't flush, no fitted sheets on the bed, ran out of pool towels. etc.

I've experience friendlier staff but many that helped did try their best. Wonderful pool facilities and lobby. The hotel layout is well done and easy to get around.

Quand même bien en général, bouffes très bonne mais je dirais que c'est max un 3.5 étoiles..A éviter le temps des fêtes car over bouqué et manquait d'eau pour prendre une douche ou flushé la toilette, ou juste de l'eau bouillante à très peu de jet, manquait de serviettes de plages..J'ai Payé trop cher pour cette saison à cette Hotel.
