I was very excited to spend my week at Aguas, but that was shortlived. The staff was rude and acted like we were a nuisance for even asking for water. There were little to no activities open, despite what the hotel website said. We ended up booking at the very end of the season, and unbenknownst to us it was the week all the local cubans were allowed to stay at the resort. They were quite rude. The buffet food was seriously lacking, and none of the a la cartes were open. This will be my only trip to cuba for a few years, I can only handle being treated rudely because I didn't tip for crap service for so long. Luckily my group of friends and I met some great guests at the resort and had a good time despite all the problems..

Hotel and Room : Hotel is not super fancy, it is old, but still enjoyable to spend time in. Our gardenview room was good, everything worked well and we had a good sleep. We got a bottle of rum but no water. Had to buy a bottle for 2 pesos.

Food : Always the same for breakfast. For dinner it changes. Its good in general, a lot of choices. Always some meat, rice, potatoes, vegetables, fruits, soup, beans, salad, pasta, bread. We strongly recommend the a la carte restaurants, ambiance is nice, service is excellent, food is better than buffet. Burgers, sandwiches, hotdogs at the beach are very good for lunch. Good desserts and ice cream at the buffet also!

Beach : Beach is awesome. A lot of chairs, not a worry. A lot of shade areas. Only downside is there is a lot of residues from the ocean in the sand that never seems to get cleaned up.

Workers : Some are absolutely amazing! They are happy and give a very good service all the time. Some seem less happy and expect a tip. Tip everyone regardless.

Excursions : We did the Jeep Safari Yumuri and it was a blast. Very packed day, lots of fun. You get to drive in the city and off roads, swim in a cave, had a good lunch, snorkling, ect. Was worth the money for sure!

Entertainment : Was not impressed. Not a good resort if you want to party. Lots of famillies and couples. Lack of activities during the days. Shows at night are so-so, would of like them to make the people participate and have fun instead of just sitting there and watch.

Tips : Bring you own towels, they charge 15CUC deposit each. Bring some munchies if you like, they sell pringles only for 5,85 CUC. Bring your own mugs.

It was the worst hotel I ever saw it was suppose to be beachfront which it is not my bed was dirt could not sleep in it the staff was not friendly and the resort itself was dirt I would not give it a 1

Très belles vacances. Restaurant à la carte très bon sauf pour le buffet qui est très petit et plutôt froid surtout pour les pâtes. Ne vous attendez pas plus car c'est un 3 étoiles donc pas beaucoups de service au buffet mais plus la semaine avancait plus on voyait de l'amélioration au buffet.Par contre la plage est belle avec un peu de coquillages en entrant .

Après mon 9 ieme voyages a Cuba (4 étoile)je ne savais pas a trop a quoi m attendre dans un trois étoile. Agréablement surpris du site et de la bouffe en général. Je recommanderais sans hésitation. seul point négatif le service au table et la plage avec un peu de coquillage sur le sable mais bon.

I recommend that all booking agents should stay at these places before selling these hotels to the general public. When booking this hotel it sound wonderfull. Upon arrival the hotel looked very nice at the front reception. I had requested a ground floor because the person I was traveling with has a right leg injury. We were place on the 3rd floor with no working elevator. 1st flr lobby, 2nd flr coffee bar/liquor bar, 3rd floor dining, and we were 3516 that makes 6 flight of steps to climb for someone who has a right leg injury. Was not pleased with the food, the breadfast was horrible we did not have lunch dinner was just as bad as breadfast. If you missed dinner you were screwed till freakfast the next morning no food in the night. Two nights of dining out.

The bungalows are wonderful,spacious, 2 rooms with each their own terrence or baloncy, 2 TV'S seperate tiolet and sink areas,wonderful. The alcarte restaurants were also wonderful. BUT the line ups at the buffet, snack bars, bars and coffee bar is unexceptable !! They need more staff. The common area are filthy, the floor in the outside buffet area I don't think has seen a mop. The service sucks, they do not know how to wait on people they all have attitudes except for the alcarte restaurants were some what better. No service no tip is my motto. The maid service was WONDERFUL !! we had Elizabeth and she made sure we were well taken care of...thanks ( Betty ) fresh towels and spotless daily.

Overall a good choice of resort and we would go back again....food could be a bit better (have travelled throughout Cuba) Staff are friendly and accomodating when you tip only! which is now typical of Cuba...

we had a great 4-night trip. travelled with another family - all together 4 adults, 2 toddlers and 6-month old. the rooms were clean, but try to get the bungalow if you can, it's closer to everything (beach, pool, restaurants). The trip was everything we were expecting from a 3-star hotel, so we really enjoyed our stay as much as you can with 3 little kids :). I would recommend this hotel for short getaways.

The food at the buffet was much better this year. Could have had a garbage receptical at the west end of the beach near the path to the bungalows.

An older resort with many steps and an elevator in the main building that works if you hold your breath and stand on one leg for 8-10 minutes. The buffet is adequate and the alacart Italian was the best. OMG they are finally seasoning their food with fresh herbs. You do not go to Cuba for good food; it was a nice surprised on my 5th trip & 2nd to Varadero.

What a disappointment. Was depressed from the moment I arrived. Sub standard all around!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Pour le prix payé, ds l'ensemble, pour notre 1 er voyage en sol cubain ; c'était bien correct, bien sûr tout n'est pas parfait .
L'HOTEL ; simple sans prétention ,elle demanderait un peu plus d'attention et d'entretien mais sommes toutes si vous n'êtes pas trop regardant, c'est OK .
LE PERSONNEL ; tous très gentils , ns en avons rencontré aucun qui fût désagréable ou bête et si créer un lien avec eux et que vs donner régulièrement les pesos (tips) il seront d'avantage très avenants .
LA NOURRITURE ; la fameuse nourriture ! Il vs faudra quelques jours pour vous y habituer et à trouver ce qui vs convient le mieux mais , il y a quand même un bon choix au buffet et ont fini toujours à se nourrir et pour avoir jasé avec plusieurs autres voyageurs installés ds des 4-5* il semble que la nourriture c'est partout pareil !
Le seul GROS HIC que ns avons observés c'est la propreté de la vaisselle qui très négligées (par exemple); au bar à café du grand hall , les tasses ne sont tout simplement pas lavées mais seulement rincées !!? prenez votre café au bar et observez !
au buffet ns avons aussi observés régulièrement des assiettes mal lavées et tachées d'aliments !
RESTO à la CARTE ; BOF ! seulement si vs voulez vs faire servir ou de changer la routine d'aller au buffet !
( Ns avons préféré le CUBAIN )
LA PLAGE ; très belle couleur turquoise beau sable blanc , 4 ou 5 pieds de coquillages brisés avant de rentrer ds l'eau mais après très beau sable doux.
Le GROS BÉMOL c'est le grand nombres de touristes COCHONS qui laissent trainer leurs verres de plastiques et pailles partout sur la plage DÉSOLANT ! ns en avons même vu qui les enterraient ds le sable pour ne pas les ramasser. L'hotel ne semble pas non plus faire d'effort à ce sujet ainsi pas de poubelles (1 ou 2) à l'entrée et c'est tout puis aucun personnels pour faire le ménage en fin de journée DOMMAGE avoir de si belles plages et ne pas en êtres plus conscients !
Dans l'ensemble, avec quelques petits ajustement cette hôtel pourrait-être très bien !
Ns y retournerions probablement quand même avec un bon prix en connaissant les quelques lacunes nous pouvons êtres plus vigilants !

L'hôtel est très bien, nous n'avons pas payé très cher, alors nous ne nous attendions pas à être servis comme des rois. Le seul point faible sont les restaurants à la carte, il est très difficile d'en avoir un, dans notre cas nous avons eu droit à un seul. La plage est belle et large, mais beaucoup de coquillages proche de l'eau qui font mal aux pieds lorsqu'on entre dans la mer. Pour la nourriture, les déjeuners sont très bons, les dîners au snack bar sont bien aussi, mais le buffet le soir est le même choix de repas 7 jours sur 7.

Je suis satisfait de nos vacances à cet hotel. En gros c'est très bien passé les vacances pour ma famille. J'aime beaucoup les plages et la tranquilité du site, la bouffe aussi. Merci bien!

Les 3 restaurants à la carte sont bon, par contre il est difficile de réserver donc si vous désirer y manger je vous conseil d'aller voir vers 19h30 si il y a de la place, car certain ne se présente pas....
Plage magnifique, mais pourrais avoir amélioration au niveau des déchets, manque de poubelles.un petit truc ramener dont vos verres de plastique vide quand vous quitter, ou bien emporter vous un gros verre de plastique pour votre alcool et donner le à la fin de votre séjour!
Terrain de tennis correct, si vous avez envie de jouer, et si il vous reste des balles donner les au service d'animation il en on besoin.
Et comme partout ailleurs à Cuba, ils ont toujours besoin de tout, alors faitent vos valises avec des vêtements et souliers que vous n'utiliser plus ici et donner vos effets au travailleurs sur le site, vous donnerez donc une deuxième vie er recyclerez en même temps......bonne vacances

If you have any problems with walking this is not the place for you to be. Alot of walking around to get to your room to the beach and entertainment. This hotel is ok needs some work done to the buildings the plumbing had some issues with hot water but told the front desk and they took care of it. Food was not so great I didn't starve I did manage to eat something everday but the varity was not so great. So for a 3 star it was ok and it doesn't get any more star's from this traveller. I wouldn't stay here again but for the first time to Cuba hey it was ok.

Do not recommend this hotel to seniors or people having difficulty getting around - allot of walking from place to place and lots of stairs

L'hotel etait bien. Je trouve que pour le prix qui est très bien l'hotel est bien. Nous avons eu une très bell expérience à l'hotel.

First time in Varadero and probably our last.

This was as expected as I have traveled to Cuba about 22 times. Food was below the usual standards for Cuba - front desk the least friendly and helpful of all staff. Do feel the change in the political climate. People a little more agressive for money and items. No hot water the whole week - beds, bedding all need an overhaul. However for the price i paid as a single person this was value for the dollar. It still is a safe place for a single woman to travel.

Overall, this was a good resort. The friendly staff, with the exception of the front desk reception, made up for any short falls. Not much for entertainment to choose from - a good group during late afternoon. There was a bank on site and the teller hoarded $1 pecos and was not very congenial. Spent alot in tips, but the staff deserved it.

We had a GREAT time. The beaches were superb. staff was beyond friendly. We upgraded our room to a bungalow & I'm very happy we did..very close to beach & pool & activities.Wonderful opportunities to take extra excursions as well.
