beautiful open concept hotel, rooms very nice and clean w full free mini bar stocked daily - water, beer, pops. Staff was wonderful, friendly, and nightly entertainment was second to none. Food was delicious, lots of options. honestly, as my second trip to cuba, i was thoroughly impressed and will def be back

We stayed March 28-April 4th for the first time at Iberostar Varadero and I must say the resort and staff were absolutely outstanding. I will try to keep review brief but I’m so pleased with the entire resort I may get carried away!

Check In- We arrived at 2:00pm and requested block 15. The reception staff were very happy to help and we rec’d the room we wanted on third floor. We were told it would be ready at 3:00 pm so we booked our a la cartes in just a few minutes and proceeded to Lobby Bar.

Room- Room 1545 overlooking little bridge and gazebo. It was perfect, extremely clean and spacious. It had all the amenities including body wash, shampoo, shower cap etc . The only thing not available was hair conditioner but we brought all of our own things so it did not matter. There was a hairdryer in bathroom but my flat iron would only work at desk table plug which was no problem for me. Our daily maid was Lourdes and she was delightful leaving towel decoration every day and keeping the room in pristine condition. We left her a little gift with money each day

Beach – It was amazing with white sand and aqua coloured water. Yes, mother nature tends to bring in shells and stones but that is no fault of the resort. I think when people complain about this they are being totally unreasonable and should just relax!!!!

Food – We had no problem with the food. Sometimes the food at the a la carte’s would not be exactly as ordered but we could always find something. We preferred the buffet as we are ‘visual’ and like to see exactly what we are going to be eating prior to sitting down. There was always a huge selection and we could not find fault with any of the buffet food. My personal favourite was the pasta bar where ‘made-to-order’ pasta dishes were prepared and you could select anything to be added. At lunch we often had burgers or hot dogs at beach or went to the smaller buffet by pool. There was something for everyone, even French fries!

Staff- I’ve saved the best for last!!!!! We met Pilar the Asst. Manager at the buffet restaurant the first evening while I was waiting to compliment the pasta cook. She asked if we were enjoying our stay and told us if we had any concerns whatsoever to speak to her. It was really nice knowing that every guest was treated with generous hospitality and warmth. Now, I know everyone has favourites but I truly feel that Pablo should be awarded ‘Ibeostar Varadero Ambassador’ as he truly was phenomenal and genuinely went far beyond a bartender’s duties to ensure that each guest was happy and having fun while connecting with them personally on an individual basis. I’m sure he sees the best and worst of many tourists but his beautiful smile and charisma is something we cherished while at the Iberostar. I watched him not only connect with us but with everyone he served. He has the ability to make each guest feel like they are a guest in his own home and words cannot really express how much we appreciate meeting him. We also loved Samuel during the day time at the Lobby bar, he was so terrific and made great Americano coffee! Elienis at the beach bringing drinks to everyone all day; always with a huge smile on her face, she was just marvelous. My heart ached for her as she worked so hard in the hot sun for long hours. Emma at the lobby bar was wonderful too, very kind and provided superb service. Last but not least was Mabel from the buffet restaurant; she always greeted us with pleasant hospitality and quickly knew our favourite table.

very well thought out resort design and good servvice level; food is good for a buffet style; good Mediterrean table service restaurant; beach is very god although sand area is narrow (at time we visited); nice area behind beach with hammocks (quiet and shaded by palm trees);

We were very impressed with all aspects of this hotel. The food was great, service bettter and it was great being at a small resort as we found this to be more peaceful and quiet. We had great weather the enitre 7 days which helps alot. We enjoyed how the staff really went out of their way to get everyone involved and will certainly be going back. We did a day trip to Havana and enjoyed the first half of the trip but then it became a little long.

We had a VERY GOOD vacation at this well-maintained facility!!! :O)

Clean resort,small beach,limited nightlife,not much of a veiw from most rooms.Some staff need to learn more about customer service...don't seem too motivated to do their jobs.Saw many other resorts in the area,this resort looked to be one of the better ones.

I will never go back. Terrible attitude of front desk staff, especially Barbara, almost no wireless internet even after paying equivalent to $25.00 per day. We were charged $25.00 dollars extra because we didn’t check out exactly at noon. Small aunts all of the room, got bit terribly. In the bathroom, there is a bade, but no soap or towel. Food is terrible, no flavor, can’t even get lemon or lime.
Beautiful beach, nice entertainment staff.

The hotel was excellent. The facilities, bars, lounge, lobby, pool, beach bars & BBQ and restaurants were spotless and first class. The food was much better than we expected.
The staff are friendly and would go out of their way to rectify any issue.
The evening shows (live) were very good.

Went here for a friends wedding. Very nice resort staff frendly. Night entertainment was really good and entertaining. One downside was the beach. It was long but not very wide. The water was merky very hard to see anything no fish could be seen. Not snorkeling friendly. Restaurants were good great selection of food tasted like sneiders products (burgers, chicken). Found the resort pricey. compared to other ones.

After experiencing a wonderful time with another Iberostar hotel in Mexico, we decided to stick to the Iberostar chain for Cuba. We selected Iberostar Varadero due to its ranking among other Varadero hotels.

This being my 2nd time in Varadero, i gotta say that Iberostar Varadero blows Playa De Oro out of the water for its overall accommodation, service and restaurants. But it does not match our experience in Riviera Maya but hey it's Cuba.

The beach though is the narrowest along the strip from the shore the the entrance towards the hotel. On days with high tides we walked towards to neighboring Sandals to have a wider sand area and space. This is why I did not rank the beach as a 5.

I am not a pool guy so I did not rank the pool and I am not an entermainent guy so I did not rank it either.

The buffet is standard all-inclussive Cuban fair. It does not mathc Mexico's quality for buffet food but it does beat other Varadero resorts but it is still blend and flavorless. But eatable though lol.

The staff is very friendly and courteous. That's a positive. Frontdesk were kind and flexible.

As for guests, there were allot less rif-rafs at this hotel. It's more for couples and families. This is not a hotel for college kids looking to party.

I recommend this place for couples who don't want to see college kids.

From arrival minute to departure, we were treated like royalty. Beautiful facilities, lots of activities, family friendly, and excellent food, yes excellent food!

This is our second time to Varadero, and we stayed in the resort during Dec 2nd-9th. The weather in Varadero was perfect, the beach was beautiful, and the hotel looked decent, but the food provided was much below my expectation. We stayed in Blau Varadero last time 5 years ago and had a good experience, but this time since we have a small baby with us, we decided to try a 5-star and family-friendly hotel. However, I was disappointed at the so-called 5-star. I felt the food in Iberostar was worse than Blau. Everyday the foods were the same, except salty or not salty. The room was spacious and clean, but there were ants anywhere even on the 3rd floor. In addition, the coffee maker in the room was too old and not working properly. Overall, if you can get a good deal, you can go; otherwise, not worthy to pay a 5-star price for it.

Beau complexe d'allure tropicale et de dimension humaine. La clientèle est très internationale. L'hébergement et la restauration est compatible avec un hotel 4 étoiles de standard international. Bonne animation, beaucoup d'activités possibles toute la journée et en soirée. La formule tout compris permet d'apprécier l'ensemble sans soucis.Du coté des "moins", l'omniprésence des enfants d'age préscolaire devient vite agacant et la dimension de la plage, très étroite à cet endroit, rend les bains de soleil à la mer moins agréable. Dans l'ensemble, de très belles vacances à prix très abordable dans un environement douillet de haut standing.

We had a great vacation and would definitely go again. The resort is visually stunning.
The buffet food was varied (seafood, beef, chicken, porc) including many choices for kids (pizzas, pasta, fries). The buffet also had a great selection of desserts, fruits and vegetables at every meal.

The staff were efficient and friendly. The rooms were large and very clean. The pools were large and beautifully laid out. The beach was great, only a small section of shells to walk over when you first get in the water.

The kids club was fantastic with so many fun activities that our kids decided to stay there practically all day. Archery, bowling, shooting, dance lessons, aqua gym, ping pong, tennis were among some of the activities for adults at the resort.

Don't forget to bring insect repellent if you go to the nightly show, there were quite a few mosquitoes.

The catamaran excursion with snorkeling, dolphins and seafood lunch was well worth and a good value, the kids loved it.

The Havana day tour was disapointing. We were ushered to different places in order to buy things. The tour guide gave us some good information but ended the tour by telling us to visit the last two places by ourselves while he sat at a bar. We never went to the museum that was refered to in the brochure.

Overall it was a lovely resort that did things right and gave us a wonderful vacation. I recommend it.

Fun, family vacation

Overall a very positive experience. Great food, service, selection and very clean. Rooms are lovely and also kept immaculate. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Beach is a little narrow for our liking, but we heard that November and December, a lot of the beach is washed away by the tide. Loads to do if you wish however, if it is peace and quiet you are looking for, you have that too. Entertainment team are seen but not heard...not in your face. No blaring music by the pool or on the beach which is nice. Would recommend this resort to everyone.

Other than the weather (which was still better than here),this place was fantastic-having been to many other All Inclusive resrts, will say the Food here was fantastic with a huge variety at all the restaraunts, the Japanese rest was also great.

Nous sommes allés au Iberostar Varadero pour la troisième année consécutive. Tout était parfait, comme toujours.

L'endroit est superbe, propre et agréable. Les employés sont gentils et souriants, la nourriture est excellente, les chambres sont spacieuses et très propres.

Tout est magnifique!!!

Had a great time at the hotel. First trip to Cuba and very impressed with the staff at the hotel and the people in Cuba. After a couple of visits to the main restaurant, staff already new how we liked our coffee or tea and what wine we drank with dinner. Everywhere we went the staff would great us and ask how we were enjoying ourselves.

Hotel was a great location, and beach was great. The food wasn't the greatest.

Overall rating is good. The big pluses are an excellent beach, junior suites are spacious and clean, and entertainment was very good with different shows nightly over 2 week stay. The food quality and variety leaves alot to be desired.

good a dream come true

De tous les hôtels que npus avons fait à Cuba c'est le meilleur. Digne de ses cinq étoiles. Resto à japonais bof par contre le resto mediterraneo très bon.

Wow et encore wow! Nos attentes étaient élevées au niveau du site, du service, de la plage, des chambres et de la propreté. Attentes satisfaites.

Pour ce qui est de la nourriture, comme nous nous rendions à Cuba, même s'il s'agit d'un 5 étoiles, nous nous attendions à de la nourriture "ordinaire"...sauf que surprise: la nourriture était VRAIMENT bonne, variée et il y avait du nouveau chaque soir! Étonnamment, nous avons préféré les 2 buffets aux restaurants "à la carte". Nous avons essayé le japonais et le cubain, très bon. Ça fait changement du buffet. Nous avions 3 réservations aux restos à la carte (à faire dès votre arrivée). Bon à savoir, vous pouvez y retourner plus souvent lorsqu'ils ont de la disponibilité! Il suffit d'aller voir la personne qui s'occupe des réservations au lobby de l'hôtel.

Nous avons séjourné au Iberostar Varadero avec nos enfants de 11 et 10 ans. Tout est parfait pour des vacances en famille exceptionnelles. La proximité de la plage, de la piscine et de la restauration est géniale! À la piscine, les gens réservent les meilleures places vers 7h30 am. Cependant, nous allons à Varadero pour la plage et la mer! Il y avait toujours des palapas et des chaises disponibles, peu importe l'heure d'arrivée. Il y avait souvent un "placié" à la plage (un employé de l'hôtel)qui nous installait nos chaises en s'assurant qu'elles soient propres...évidemment, il s'attend à recevoir un pourboire, ce que nous avons fait! Pour ce qui est des serviettes de plage, nous avons pu les changer à chaque jours sans problèmes. Il n'en manquait jamais au kiosque à serviettes.

L'animation est excellente et variée, vous y participez si ça vous tente, personne ne vous "achale". Les spectacles sont aussi très divertissants. J'ai bu mon petit cappucino à chaque jour, il était particulièrement bon. Les cocktails étaient très bons aussi!

N'oubliez pas de faire un tour d'autobus à 2 étages, le Varadero Beach Tour. Pour 5 pesos par personne, votre billet est bon pour la journée. Vous pourrez arrêter un peu partout et rembarquer plus tard. Intéressant pour visiter Varadero!

Je recommande fortement l'Iberostar Varadero si vous souhaitez avoir des vacances parfaites! J'y retournerais sans hésitation.

Great resort, friendly staff, beautiful beach. Exactly what my family needed right now. Lots of activities for the kids and a feeling of family at this resort.
