 Évaluation personnelle

Bonjour,

Merci.

Don;t go it is not worth the money

The entertainment started at 10:00pm for
1 hour and was not good. We had to wait in line for the breakfast buffet and the survice was not all that great, you always had to ask for a fork, knife, glass etc. The lobby bar is small not enough tables and chairs. I was not inpressed with food at the alacart restaurants.

 Melia Cayo Santa Maria

Spent a great week at this resort. I have been to Cuba six times and had the best service here. The food, drinks, pool and beach were amazing. Will be going back to this resort again. The staff here make the difference, always willing to the extra mile.

2nd Time... better than the first!

this resort is amazing, staff is extremely friendly, food is very good buffet and a la carte restaurants are all great. Staff is always cleaning the grounds and pool. We would of recommended this resort after the first visit and even more after the second visit. If you choose this resort you wont be dissapointed. The catamaran tour is a very good excursion. If you book this resort say hello to osbiel at the swim up bar and edwardo the gardener from Joel and Chantel from Timmins.

 Wonderful time

Had a wonderful time, beach is beautiful, however it got windy our second day there and couldnt sit at the beach without being blasted with sand, which made the pool very busy, and hard to find a seat because everyone was throwing towels on chairs and not using them. Food was pretty good, snack bar was nice and quick to grab a snack. Japanese restaurant was the best!

 Bon rapport qualite/ prix

 Great vacation!

The hotel was what we expected and the staff were terrific! Take bug spray with you as there are bugs who you won't see, but they see you.

The pool bartender Yoseet was absolutely terrific! What a great guy!

 Great value for your money

This was our first trip to Cuba and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of service and our overall experience with this resort. We have traveled to Panama, and various places in the Dominican Republic (4-5 star resorts) before but this place blew them all away in terms of the beauty of the beach and the food, drinks and service. We would recommend this resort to anyone and intend to return.

 Cayo Santa Maria

A great getaway vacation! The service was excellent. It was a bit of a drive to the resort, but it was like an unpaid excursion. Played a lot of tennis. They have an excellent instructor in court one. She works everyday except Sunday. The food was good and entertainment was excellent. Shows are a little late. They brought new loungers in for the pool and beach area and it made a huge difference for those who don't towel their chairs in the a.m.. Would definately recommend.

 Great Resort!

This was our first time at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria. This is a terrific resort! The staff are amazing; they are always willing to go above and beyond to take care of you. Special thanks to Marco and Fernando (managers) who took good care of us (this is Nick writing if you remember me Marco!), along with the rest of the staff. Also, special thanks to Carlos and Yorlien (both students) who made our time fun and memorable especially during the evenings at the show. The food was very good, lots of variety, and the beach was awesome. The grounds are very well kept and maintained. I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat and cannot stop talking about the resort to my family and friends. It is unfortunate that we had to leave to come home!

 Melia Cayo Santa Maria

Hotel has changed since my last visit about 4 years ago. Still looks nice, service is great as is the accomodation. My biggest problem was the food.. Not well prepared, although there was a variety, it was not well prepared and was cold most of the time.. I found it very bland and tasteless and not of a good quality. Not much of a variety of fresh fruit.

Superb resort with beyond freindly staff

Everything on the restort is spaced perfectly, not too far from the pool to beach...etc...all main areas not too far apart. Services could not have been better than received. Staff (same as last time) were very freindly and helpful. SPECIAL THANKS TO OSBIEL & YOBI (pool bar) also DANNY (main lobby bar) !! Second time meeting Osbiel first for Yobi AND Danny but please note they gave way beyond excellent service!!
Have been to this resort before and would most certianly go again!

 Best Cuba Trip So Far!

This was our 4th trip to Cuba and the best one yet. To start with, We were impressed by the service the first night. We'd had a late flight and they had us all checked in with our rooms when we arrived at the airport. When we arrived to the resort they took the luggage to the rooms for you.
The rooms were in bungalows with 8 junior suites in each so it was larger than normal with a sitting area, king size bed, tv, coffee maker, fridge stocked daily, a dressing area with closet, drawers, iron & board and safe, tub/shower, toilet and boudet room all nice and clean. Our maid was not as creative as others. Only on the day before we left did we get a towel decoration on the bed even though we had left her gifts everyday. I heard others were getting swans, dolls, ships and even lobsters made with towels! I guess I'm just a little jealous cause I like those things too.:(
The beach was truly magnificent! White sand as far as the eye could see with very little if any seaweed. The water was every bit as turquoise and pristine as you could believe. To get to the beach you have to walk on a boardwalk where you will pass the beach bar. Nester will make you anything you want to drink and it's all very tasty. The beach snack bar is at the beginning of the boardwalk. You can order off the menu or have the BBQ, both are good. My only complaint was that there wasn't a washroom close to the beach. You had to go all the way back to the pool area.
I really can't comment on the pools as we didn't swim at them (we swam at the beach), although there are 2 adult and 1 kids pools and seemed to be a popular spot. They are more or less quite central being close to the snack bar/bar and restaurants.
The food! It was better than I have had on previous trips to Cuba. Cuba food is what it is and we were always able to find something tasty to eat. The chefs at the buffet will make you anything you want. There was lots of variety and everything was well prepared. The wait staff and servers were excellent! Always making you feel welcome. We ate at 3 of the 5 a la cartes. Our favourite was the Japanese which surprised my husband that it wasn't all sushi. They put on quite a show and everything they made was delicious so don't be afraid to try something different you might just find yourself having a new favourite.
The lobby bar which is 24hrs. was very popular but never over crowded and you could always find a seat either inside the bar or on the patio in the shade. Juan Carlos, Ernesto, Walter, Rafael and Danny are more than happy to serve you even at the table(this was the first place of all our stays in Cuba that you got table service).
The entertainment was excellent. These people are very talented.
I indulged in the Spa Treatments. Your package includes a wet sauna, dry sauna and a hot tub use. I also had a therapeutic massage which was amazing. The staff there are not the friendliest but if you wait around they'll acknowledge you.
We took 2 excursions, the Catamaran snorkelling and interaction with the dolphins and I went scuba diving. Both were excellent value for the price. We took the mountain tour last year when we were in Cienfugos (amazing) and I heard that the jeep tour was awsome.
We met some really nice people and have started some new friendships.
We will most definetly go back again!

 Great time

We had a great time at this hotel. It met most of the expectations that I had based on the reviews from this website. Our room was on the 2nd floor (request that if possible, as we heard from others on the 1st floor that they had some visitors - geckos, bugs, etc.). The beach was amazing, although it was hard to find chairs. People would go down at 7am and put thier towels out, but if you were lucky the lifeguards could find you a chair later in the day. The pool area was nice, clean and well maintained. Chairs were also difficult to find. The food was not bad (if you are a foodie, you're going to be a bit disappointed). There were several options, the grill station in the evening was great. If you are a coffee lover, be sure to get cappuccino at the lobby bar, so great!!! Also - we did the catamaran excursion, and it was really great - worth the $99/person. Most of the staff were friendly enough, but front desk staff were not helpful, likely due to the language barrier. Many do not speak very good english, so a spanish handbook might help you out! Not many night-time activiites other than the shows (no disco). Many older couples... not a lot of younger people there.
