Les lieux auraient besoin d'etre rafraichis. L'acces a la plage reste a désirer.

Il y a un peu de négligeance envers la propreté de la plage... si tu es un ancien client ils sont à tes pieds... nouveaux clients ignorés... sauf les 2 jours de pluie endroit fantastique à découvrir

J'adore cet établissement. Les travailleurs sont tous tellement gentils et dévoués. Ils font de mon séjour un moment spécial à chacune de mes visites. L’hôtel est bien, pas trop grand et pas trop petit. On y trouve toujours quelques choses pour nous satisfaire au buffet et au restaurant à la carte.

Une piscine était en rénovation, les fontaines étaient mal entretenues, la plage est inexistante près de l’hôtel puisque l'eau est trop haute depuis plus d'une année, décors un peu ravagé par une tornade en 2006 et l'Eau de la mer avait des algues, internet est extrêmement lent. La bouff est très bien, le personnel aussi, la plage accessible à 500 Mètres de là est super et les chambres sont propres.

Plage superbe, hotel sans prétention pour du repos et tranquilité.
Endroit pour experimenté le naturiste.

un peu sauvage, mais dans le bon sens du terme... avec cette vue sur la mer, surtout un soir de pleine lune...lol!

J'ai fait un très beau voyage ....

We have stayed at Playa Blanca ever since it was built as Barcelo. We have found the staff to be very friendly , food is decent and rooms are clean. We enjoy the beach all the time and we are fully aware that the beach in Cayo Largo comes & goes, but one can always find some beach. The last week we spent there Apr 6 to 13th, the beach was excellent, sun shone every day and wether was hot...just perfect. If you are looking for alot to do on Cayo Largo, then this is not the resort spot for you....Cayo Largo is pure R&R and that is what we love in a vacation. We were well releaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay once again...we will return.

We just returned from Cayo Largo two nights ago. We stayed at the Playa Blanca Hotel. I must say it was beyond my expectations! I expected it to be just a basic hotel with nothing fancy. It was beyond that. I would rate it higher than what it is rated. Last year we stayed at Sol Pelicano (just down the beach) and it is a higher rated hotel than Playa Blanca. Not in my eyes. We were upgraded to a suite as our room was not ready! Had a fantastic view of the resort and ocean from our two storey room. Room was clean and well maintained! Food was great - you will never go hungry -we enjoyed it. Had seafood one night at the buffet which was great. I commend the staff who work in Cuba and on this island. They work 20 days straight and they put in LONG hours. They then get 10 days off. You see them early at breakfast and they are still there 8 - 9 PM at night. Always greeting you with a smile and never grumpy or complaining. You would not see this in Canada! One of the staff in the dining room has a 3 year old son at home. Imagine leaving a 3 year old at home for 20 days to go to work!!! My heart goes out to the staff.
Overall we had a fantasic time! Weather was superb - food was great -swimming in the ocean was fun (riding the waves)- I would go back tomorrow if I could! One couple on our flight has been there 31 times!! They go 2 - 3 times a year! Now that is the life!!!!

Très franchement des rénovations s'imposent ce site pourrait être un vrai paradis si les installations matériel seraient adapté à l'endroit. Par contre l’île opère son charme sur nous ce qui nous aide à oublier le reste.Température idéale ....

Very basic but great people and food fairly good, always find something to eat. Clean rooms, maid service very good.It always helps to leave a small gift or some money on pillow each day.Staff around the resort very helpful.
Look for the WW 2 biplane that sprays for bugs.

Plage exceptionnelle. Restauration et activité de l'hôtel un peu ordinaire.

C'était notre 3ième voyage àCuba en 3 ans (aussi Cayo Coco et Cayo Guillermo) et nous avons été très déçcu de la plage, piscine et chambre. Beaucoup de moustiques. Nous n'y retournerons pas.

Hôtel tranquille pour gens tranquille, en quête de vacances reposantes. L'endroit est propre, le service au chambre adéquat. La mer n'était pas disponible devant l'hôtel (vagues trop hautes eau pleine d'algues) mais c'est les aléas de dame nature. La plage est toujours aussi belle et permet de marcher longtemps...

l'hotel est petit, ce que nous apprécions.NOus avions un bungalow vue mer, tres propre. Le personnel tous tres gentil et souriant.Le midi, toujours du BBQ sur charbon de bois: délicieux, avec du beau saumon.
tout était parfait sauf, ce qui pour nous est tout de meme important : la mer.
Épouvantable! des algues, meme à la plage sirena. De plus, de la mousse brünatre et blanche en énorme quantité sur la plage. Je sais que ce n'est pas comme cela d'habitude, et je leur souhaite que ca se règle.j'ai beaucoup aimé et j'y retournerais si ce n'était de la plage et de la mer.

I'm not difficult to please. Having said that, this hotel MUST improve the bathroom lighting immediately in the main building (bungalows have bathroom windows from what I hear). Completely dark in there! Yanet the maid is awesome; her towel animal skills are unbelievable. I'm usually not impressed by this kind of stuff, but I was this time.

Food was great, even for Cuba standards. I was really surprised.

I'm sure you've read other reviews about the beach being washed out so I won't go over that. I knew, so it wasn't an issue for me.

If you are a poolside lounger you won't like the people who hoard chairs. Just go to the beach.

I would like to see this hotel and others figure out who their target market is; you can't be everything to everyone. Wishful thinking I know, but it will eventually happen so why not now... That is most important to me when I book (demographics).

Overall it was a good place to go; the repeat customers love it there and keep going back.

The rooms were very clean with working fridge and A/C. Stayed in the bungalow section - you have your balcony which is a bonus.
Food is Cuban standard but selection is good.

Excellent location, beautiful, pristine, virgin beaches, clean comfortable hotel. Food and drinks not up to 4 stars standards, but fine if you are not too picky.

Très beau séjour... dommage pour la plage qui n'était pas accessible au moment où on y était, les vagues venant du nord ne sont pas arrêtées car pas de barrière de corail, du coup la plage est inexistante, on doit aller plus loin a la plage sirena et paraiso (magnifiques plages!!!)

The climate is great and the island has some beautiful beaches. This is not a four star resort as advertised. More like 3 max. Food wasn't great and we all got sick within two days of arrival. Grounds aren't that well maintained and the overall appearance of the resort is a little shabby. We liked the beach and the staff was friendly. We stayed at the Tryp in Cayo Coco last year which is also a 4 star but it was much nicer and the food much better. The other downside of this hotel is there are a lot of nudists who some times wander completely naked into the non-nude area of the beach. These people are ignorant and annoying.

Business levels seemed to be down for March break week so the resort seemed very spacious. Well maintained grounds and pool. No beach in front of the hotel but 300 yds west they've created a beach with a bar, lounges and palapa umbrellas. Food was as expected but then you don't go to Cuba for the food. Bar staff need to smile more. Service seemed to decline as the week passed. Lots of "noseeums" and mosquitoes however they did apply pesticide to control them. Housekeeping excellent!
Overall this is a good resort for the money.

Pour avoir séjourné à 3 reprises à cet hôtel et connaissant bien Cayo Largo, je constate avec grande déception le déclin de cet établissement.

Je me conterai de dire que l'hôtel est désormais rendu un 3 étoiles tout au plus. Tant qu'il n'y aura pas d'investissements majeurs, Cayo Largo, anciennement reconnu pour être un petit joyau des Caraïbes, connaitra une bien triste fin.

N'ayant pas eu l'accès à la plage du tout, de par son inexistence, nous avons loué un Jeep toute la semaine pour profiter des installations du Sol. À cet endroit et étant situé dans une baie, la plage est demeurée accessible. Malheureusement, même cet établissement m'a bien déçu, l'ayant connu à ses tous débuts.

Bref, si vous avez déjà entendu de ce formidable endroit, je vous invite pour le moment à vous tourner vers une autre destination. Sinon quoi, vous serez bien déçu!

À ce qu'il paraîtrait, un gros complexe formé de petites Villas serait projeté. Reste à voir s'il bénéficiera d'une plage, puisque celui-ci serait situé tout juste à côté. À suivre!

Séjour merveilleux! Rapport qualité/prix bien. Il manque un peu d'entretien, mais tout de même, le site et l'hôtel sont très propres. Toutefois, nous avons eu beaucoup de mouches et de maringouins. Le personnel parle bien français et anglais; ils sont très attentifs à nos besoins et aussi très serviable. Séjour agréable. J'y retournerais. Beaucoup trop de vent lors de mon séjour; impossible ou presque de pouvoir se baigner dans la mer. Malgré tout, les plages sont magnifiques à cet endroit. La plage de l'hôtel est quasi existante en raison de la marée élevée.
