Deuxième expérience au Blau Colonial. Ma conjointe et moi avons passé une fort belle semaine sur ce site très charmant et paisble. Notre chambre, qui était spacieuse, était située dans un bâtiment récemment rénové et donnait directement sur la mer. Côté nourriture, c'était très convenable. Quant à l'ambiance sur le site, nous avons particulièrement apprécié la présence des musiciens qui animaient la place publique après le souper. Finalement, un mot pour souligner la courtoisie du personnel partout sur le site.

Over all I had a good time but then I went for a rest .Some of the people that I talked with felt that the hotel was run down and I agree it need a bit of fixing up . But you had to careful because if you left your stuff to dry outside at nights it could be stolen as my bathing trunks and towel was . Of course that led you to wonder about security at night if it was safe to go for a late night walk on the grounds I reported the thief but no one seem to care. The grounds could be better cared for because it appears that they did not care even though they had a lot staff The satff at the front desk could appear to be a bit more warmer when you were talking to them but then again it is probably just a job . My room was very clean every day and the person who did it was very pleasant and amaiable .Overall the staff at the dining room was pleasant also and every where you went someone was always saying hello. I felt that activities that you had to pay for was over priced and that the tourist was been gouraged when we had to exchange Canadian money into pesos I felt that the Cuban government was ripping us off and taking advatage of us so I refuse to be involved .Why do we have to pay 10% to exchange it is a dirty shame a rip off so any avtivities was actually costing 10% more than we were actually been showen on paper The quality of food was a surprise to me because my previous experience had been negative . I had fish every day and beef a wide a sortment of fruits . The beach was clean and the staff excellent

Le site est superbe. Les batiments colorés, j'adore.
Coté nourriture, je n'ai pas eu de problème. Poissons et viande toujours disponible sur le grill. Bananes flambées, humm avec plaisir ;)
Activités payantes : réservé dès votre arrivée car certaine ne sont disponible que quelques jours par semaine et d'autres sont complètes plusieurs jour d'avance.
Visite à Moron: interressants car plusieurs activités ( ferme de crocodile, bateau de vitesse dans la jungle) mais à Moron... on fait vite le tour :(
Plage Pilar : Beau sable farineux, mais c'est tout. Tellement venteux que la mer était trop en mouvement pour moi. je la préfère calme.
Groupe musical cubain, 6 jours sur 7 plus un spectacle à l'intérieur après.
2 piscines; la piscine d'eau douce est rénovée donc très belle. Celle d'eau salée est dûe pour des rénos mais il y a un bar dans la piscine donc pour certains, ils vont la préférer.
Évidemment c'est le sud, donc apportez-vous des Immodiums !!! Difficile d'en avoir sur le complexe. Mais il y a une clinique avec infirmiere 24/24 et un médecin le jour, plus une clinique dentaire.
Endroit calme, pas beaucoup de magasinage à faire, demandez une chambre rénovée ;)

Le dimanche de mon départ le vent était tombé à un niveau moins risqué et aucun des catamarans n'était monté...

Arriving at the hotel is like driving into a small town, with shops and a large courtyard. Only upon entering the main building do you find the lobby. Rooms were basic, but very clean. Beach was great. Water warm. Food was tiresome with little change from lunch to supper. They could have used more variety as it was rather basic compared to other buffet's in Cuba. Food was still great, but lacked variety for Cuban standards.

We had an enjoyable week at the Blau, Weather was good, the room was clean and the maid was friendly. The Al a carte dinners were disappointing and no better than the Buffet. The Disco area is in need of some cleaning and repairs. The coffee bar in the lobby bar was excellent. Overall a good location.

Je suis très satisfait de mon séjour!

For the price, it was a wonderful vacation. Will be returning there next year. Location: 15-25 mins from the airport, we upgraded the room at 20 pesos per day....Well worth it!! Go for it...We got 2nd floor, Room 3137...right facing the ocean. Food was ample but the choice/variety was lacking. Chef's were easy to create to taste. A la Carte's were well presented & food was good. The reception staff & others were extremely helpful. Room & bathroom kept very clean. Coconuts galore! Shrimps in abudance if you like shelling them. I've seen better evening shows at other resorts. Did not check out their disco. If you're looking to party & dance thru the night, this resort may not be for you, but if you're looking to relax, enjoy the beach, swim in the ocean, then this is definitely the place to go to, especially at the price! Massages given by lady near the pool @ 35 pesos was excellent. Tipping works wonders. Cappucino at front lobby bar is the best coffee around that place. Sea water pool is always warm & not too crowded. Great place, somewhat reminds you of the colonial era.

The bar and food manager was somewhat of a jerk. We were a party of 5 and constantly had to wander the restaurant for a table to fit us all and many times had to ask them to provide one or cram into a table of 4 ourselves. 4 of us were sick from the food at some point during the week. We finally realized it was the rice making us all ill. A la carte was near impossible to get into.
Entertainment staff were non existent most of the time in the daytime and when you did see them chances are they were busy making out with the tourists.
Other than those two things, Liber at the fresh water pool bar was absolutely amazing!! Rooms were clean although really nothing to write home about. The front desk staff were also great and responsive of anything we needed. They really did what they could to make us happy. Jose was great from the moment we arrived.
All in all it was an ok vacation for the price.

a notre avis ce n est pas un 5 etoiles, manque de nourriture et quand les plats son vides ils ne remplacent pas, les restaurants a la carte c est la meme chose, la nourriture est froide, depuis 3 ans l hotel s est d eteriore tres rapidement, tres decevant, surtout que cet hotel m avait ete refere par plusieurs personnes

Nous avons fait un beau voyage, la température était superbe, ce qui a aidé beaucoup car si la température est moche, le lobby est minuscule et pas beaucoup d'activités. Le buffet était bien pas super diversifié, toujours quelque chose pour se faire une belle assiette. Il y a toujours du poisson, poulet et pâtes pour les plus difficiles. Le site est colonial, belle végétation, belles piscines, belle plage et chaises en masse. Pour des gens qui n'ont pas trop d'attentes, pour se reposer... c'est parfait ! Le ménage était impécable, la chambre grande et propre ! On peut marcher très longtemps sur la plage, c'est super plaisant. Nous avons fait un beau voyage !

C'est mon troisième séjour en un an au blau colonial et j'adore l'endroit! C'est super propre, bien entretenu, les gens sont hyper chaleureux et j'ai maintenant pleins d'amis la bas. La nourriture est bonne et assez variée, il y a beaucoup de poissons et fruits de mers ce qui fait bien mon bonheur. Encore une fois j'ai eu la chance d'avoir la température de mon côté et j'ai pu profiter de la plage abondamment :) j'ai hâte dy retourner !

The staff at this resort were absolutely AMAZING! Very helpful and friendly. Overall this was an amazing resort, very few complaints. The food wasn't that great, however I have learned this is generally the case anywhere in Cuba.

J'ai adoré mon expérience de voyage au Blau Colonial. Je pense avoir payé mon forfait un peu cher après avoir comparé avec les autres voyageurs par contre. L'hôtel est très propre et le personnel est vraiment très gentil! J'y retournerais sans hésiter. Par contre, il faut avoir des attentes réalistes: c'est une style "colonial" (ce n'est pas un grand hotel chic du style 5 étoiles mexicain!), et la bouffe est correcte, mais sans plus. Les restaurants à la carte ne sont pas particulièrement impressionnants et il y a assez peu de choix au buffet. Mais bon on va à Cuba pour le soleil, la mer et la plage, pas pour la nourriture: c'est bien connu! Je suis partie sans attente à ce niveau et je suis revenue en ayant mangé, sans être malade et avec de merveilleux souvenirs de tout le reste! Super voyage!

Très beau séjour car je suis une personne très positive en vacances,je n'y retournerais pas mais je ne regrette pas mon séjour. Chambre grande et propre, nous étions 3 et chacune avait son lit, beaucoup d'algues sur la plage mais en avançant dans la mer, eau translucide, beau sable doux, endroit parfait pour la baignade. J'ai bien mangé toute la semaine mais c'est la première fois que je vais à un hôtel où il n'y a que du beurre à mettre sur nos rôties le matin, aucune confiture ni gelée. J'ai fait une fois Cayo Guillermo en mars et cette fois-ci Cayo Coco et très venteux, à l'ombre sur la plage, il fait trop frais à mon goût.

I loved the resort - it was beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. Our standard room was large and spacious and I adored our bathroom. The staff was accomodating and friendly. The food was okay - certain times of the day were better for the buffet but a la carte dinners were great. I recommend the Creole Restaurant, fish was delicious. This was not a party resort; this was the sit back, get a tan, read a book, make some friends kind of resort. Just wonderful!!

On arrival, no hotel staff members to greet bus to direct people where to check in. This was a common theme for all arrivals.No bathroom doors in suites. Had a really hard time getting clean beach towels.Staff were friendly and helpful.Resort bathrooms were disgusting.Grounds could use more maintenance.Food was average.

Hotel magnifique, on peut marcher sur le site en toute quiétude. Les gens de l'Hotel sont à notre service. La nourriture est de mieux en mieux. Ils ont construit un nouveau restaurant...il faudra lui laisser le temps de se parfaire. Alors bon voyage et promenez-vous sur la plage, elle est magnifique!

“ Décevant”

Ça fait 18 ans que je voyage et sincèrement je suis très décue de cet hotel.Franchement, lorsque nous sommes arrivés, il n`y avait rien à manger!!!Habituellement lorsque tu vas au buffet, il y a de la bouffe partout mais à cet hotel, le buffet est très petit et le choix très limité!D`habitude, je m`en sors avec des pâtes mais la sauce blanche pour les pâtes était liquide comme de l`eau et pas très bonne!Le buffet ouvre à 13h00, pas évident avec un enfant de 3 ans!!!Nous sommes allés au snack bar,qui lui ouvre à 12h00, il n`y avait pas de cuisinier et seulement 1 serveur!!Même chose si tu veux un verre, il y a seulement 1 barman alors soyez très patient!!Les chambres sont correct et l`hotel bien situé.Si vous êtes avec des enfants, ils vont vous donner une chambre bien située mais mon couple d`amis qui n`avait pas d`enfant,était situé dans le lobby qui est très bruyant!Par contre, la mer est très belle.Croyez moi, j`ai beaucoup voyagé,et pas seulement dans des 5 étoiles,et je ne recommande pas cet hotel.Nous sommes arrivés le dimanche et déjà le lundi, mon chum était malade(après avoir mangé un hamburger douteux).

Nice hotel, a little dated, but very clean. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. The number of "stars" is irrelevant as the Cuban star system is close to random, but this is a nice resort, strangely laid out, but in a way that seems to make everything close and accessible.

very enjoyable, would definetly return

The reviews I read leading up to our vacation at The Blau scared me, but once I got there, all my fears faded away. Some people are just impossible to please, and I met a few while there. For the most part, everyone seemed to be having fun. I found a week wasn't long enough to experience the entire resort.
Firstly, there was always something tasty to eat. There WAS available salt, pepper, ketchup, mayo, and additional sauces. We went at different times, and unless you showed up 10 minutes before the buffet closed, there was plenty to eat. Fresh custom omelettes in the morning, great pasta station, fresh fish and chicken. If you are expecting inch thick steaks, lobster, or crabs legs, I suggest the Bahamas, but then again, its 3 times the price.

We requested, in advance, an upper floor suite overlooking the ocean, with a king bed. We got exactly that, with a separate living room an additional washroom with 'locking' door, huge television, coffee maker, and jacuzzi bath. Extremely pleased. Spend the extra 35.00, you won't be disappointed. Did I mention 2 roomy balconies?

We spent most of our sun time on the beautiful beaches, although they do have a fresh AND a salt water pool, with bars and attached cafe/restaurants. We attended all 3 a' la' cartes. I enjoyed the Italian and Seafood the most. It was nice to experience the local Cuban fare as well. Most of the staff were very attentive. We did tip, but not always.

We spent most evenings at the piano bar. Great entertainment and bartenders. We made many new friends among the guests and staff, all over the resort, and certainly plan on returning in the future. We have been in Cuba a few times in the past, and there is certainly nothing wrong with this resort. I found the entire staff, although overworked, did their utmost to assist you, and still smile.

If I could change one thing, I would book a different week, as it was Spring Break for the little ones, and there were hundreds of them. :-) This is, in my opinion, a family oriented resort, so it should be expected.

The area has great snorkelling on pristine coral reefs, with an abundance of fish. A real rarity in this world. A real nice place to visit.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. After so many bad reviews of Cuba I was pleasantly surprised. The beach was narrower than I thought but the water was incredible. The food was good although at times would run out of certain things.
Overall a great experience.

C'était la 1ère fois que nous allions à Cayo Coco et nous avons choisi le plus bel hôtel! Les employés, qu'ils soient serveurs, barman, femmes de chambre ou femmes de ménage, tous et toutes étaient TELLEMENT gentils. C'est vraiment la 1ère fois que nous ne rencontrions des employés aussi charmants et chaleureux. Ce site est à recommandé...Bien sûr on doit vouloir se mêler et ne pas être coincé!

Excellent j'y retournerais demain si c'était possible.....De retour au Blau après 5 ans j'ai été encore une fois emballée par le site, la gentillesse du personnel etc. Les journées à la plage étaient paradisiaques, la plage est suffisamment grande pour que nous nous y sentions au calme, malgré le nombre de clients de l'hôtel. Les chambres sont toujours aussi confortables, la salle de bain grande mais malheureusement comme souvent dans le sud, les installations sanitaires ont parfois quelques défaillances.... Mais bilan global: Excellent.

c'était ma 4ième fois à cet hôtel et ce n'est plus ce que c'était.Obligée de me faire changer de chambre,pas d'air climatisée.Après pour ce qui était de la chambre tout était correct.La nourriture était médiocre ,un matin sur deux ,pas de bananes si vous en voulez ,donnez un pourboire au serveur et vous en aurez.Jamais de miel.j'aurais dû faire comme les bananes j'en aurais peut-être eu.Les algues sur la plage ne sont pas ramassées.On s'est quand même amusé dans l'eau d'un turquoise inoubliable.somme toute,c'était la dernière fois.

Belle plage! Bel endroit au bout nord-ouest pour la plongée en apnée lorsqu'il n'y a pas trop de vagues.
Difficile de manger en dehors des heures de buffet. Les casses-croûtes et bars ferment tôt. CLOSED.
Buffet limité, répétitif et de qualité moyenne.
Le personnel semble à bout de souffle et fait de gros efforts pour garder le sourire.
Peu d'animation le jour. Belle plaza centrale pour flâner. Spectacle dans la disco, salle fermée peu aérée. Piano bar à ne pas manquer.
