Hotel was good you did have to be a mountain goat to walk as I did. Never seemed over crowded.The place is a little tired but they work at its up keep. Friendly people who work there in all capacities. Beach could be longer and if they put a new hotel beside this place then it definitely would lose its appeal and succlusion. I would definitely go back to this place.

We just returned from Costa Rica and had a wonderful vacation at the resort. The staff was very friendly, the food was good and the location of the resort is wonderful.

The Resort was a little behind in getting our room ready. We waited until around 4:30 p.m. to get the room and they ended up giving us free internet in the room
(a value of about 70$)for the delay, a nice perk, seeing we did have a laptop.
The accomadations were nice and the people very friendly. The food was OK, not great, always warm not hot, the best meals we had were at the al a carte restaurants. The breakfast buffet was pretty good but still the food was only warm, unless you had a fresh omlette or eggs made to order.
The beach was clean and easily accessible. Lots of offsite tours offered through the resort at reasonable prices. Very hilly property with shuttles that you could order by phone and arrived in a timely matter any time day or night. We had a problem with bugs (spiders) in the room one evening that was taken care of when we went for dinner (they came in and sprayed). All the bungalos had great view of the bay.

Good hotel. Food okay. Need to be able to be mobile as built in hills. Dry season in the northern area so not as lush as I envisioned Costa Rica.

A great week at the Hilton Papagayo. Staff were very friendly and anticipated your needs. Any concerns raised were immediately addressed. A la carte restaurants were good, especially the Italian restaurant. In general, food could have been warmer.

We had a great time here. The staff were lovely, very polite, there if you needed them and not in your face. The food was great although one day i did get sick. I recommend Dukoral ahead of time for any Caribbean or Latin American destination, just to be sure. We went on an excursion and the amount of wildlife we saw was amazing. There were monkeys, birds and iguanas at the resort. The weather was perfect, hot but a nice breeze blowing all the time. If you are ocean swimmers I would recommend going at a different time as during December there are a lot of jelly fish. We swam in the pools instead.

Pools, accommodation, staff were great. Black sand beach not to our taste. Beautiful vistas. Loved our week in Costa Rica.

Just fantastic I would go back or recommend to anyone. Pool, rooms, staff, food and drink are all excellent.

Although the staff were great and tried to be helpful, the resort fell short on food and entertainment value. Fortunately, Costa Rica is great country and has loads to do so we highly recommend the country, just not this resort.

A wonderful vacation great trips and a fantastic spa .....a must !

Great for relaxing and taking tour's the hotel staff were alway's helpful !
