we have stayed at a couple of all inclusive resorts and we would rate this mid range. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was ok. It would have been nice to have some more authentic bahamian food. The 2 a la carts we went to were excellent (sir Alexander and Krystal )

Not a five star hotel although I have stayed there many times. Close access to Atlantis, great ocean & close to downtown

Overall, we had a great time. We had a beautiful view from our room (all have been renovated now), and the weather was fantastic. The hotel itself doesn't compare to the Atlantis property, so I'm not sure how they have the same star rating. It's a little run down, but if you can see past that, it's not a bad experience at all. The food and drinks were great, with a wide assortment of brand name alcohol (Chivas, Johnny Walker, Martini & Rossi, etc.) which you usually don't find at an all inclusive resort. The restaurants were all good, there are just some plates to avoid.

There were plenty of chairs on the beach, even when people from the cruise ships would come over to use them. Because of the size of the pool and the area around it, the same can't be said there. The pool water needs better chemical treatment, as the water was a bit cloudy.

During our time there, there were mostly adult couples at the resort, and in turn, I wouldn't recommend bringing small children. There wasn't much for them and the language and activities got a bit boisterous at times.

If you're okay with the above, I don't see a reason you shouldn't give it a try.

Gross misrepresentation of facility. Five star rating far too generous. No means to escalate concerns. Ceiling fell to floor in front of Sir Alexander restaurant Sun. 29 April 2012. "Junior Suite" "upgrade" inferior to most rooms at standard hotel chains.

Generall good facilties, excellent staff and entertainment. Some musty smell in room, and faint urine smell in bathroom.

Average vacation beach was beautiful and clean. Dissappointed in the hotel not to what i thought is riu standards a little old and dirty. No ventilation in the bathrooms and the room felt like it was constantly damp including the carpet on the floor. Food was very good ate at the buffet everynite.

The hotel was great and the staff was very friendly. Well situated and great walking beach. Food could be improved. Gym was ok but should have more mats and some free weights.

5 star food and service - 4 star facility...great personnel, access to all amenities, and beach!

This was my 5th stay at the Riu Paradise Island. I keep going back for several reasons: price is right, hotel is well kept, food is good, smaller hotel, all inclusive, close to outside entertainment, service is good. I was a little disappointed this time as the food was cold breakfast and dinner, and the bartenders at the pool didn't pay much attention to you unless you were a "regular" drinker. On the up side, the front desk, maintenance department and serving staff were fantastic.

nice hotel, prob more a 4 star. excellent service, excellent food. would go back.

The night staff upon check in were really slow. They also mixed up quite a few bookings. Many unhappy people had to be relocated the next day to their original booking.

a nice hotel. not resorty like mayan riviera or dominican but still nice. only one pool but has a pool bar. except for the roughness of the water, the beach was great.wide white sandy beach with crystal clear turquoise water. we also felt pretty safe there with what we believe are some of the most friendly people anywhere. the food was excellent and the service top notch. i would recommend and do it again.

This was our second time at the RIU in Nassau and we would not hesitate to go back again. Four nights was not enough. Next time we will stay for a week.

Hotel was below expectations for a 5-star listed property. Would not go there again. 3.5-4 star at maximum, especially compared with a true 5-star property, the Atlantis, next door.

Definetly not a 5 star resort. As it doesn't offer many services and no form of entertainment. The food was good. Room service had very little selection on their menu compared to other 5 star resorts I've stayed at. Housekeeping wasn't the greatest. They never replaced hand or face towels, we had to keep asking for them everyday. The washroom didn't have a fan, so it took a long time for the steam to dissappear after taking a shower. No activities going on during the day or night. The beach was clean, but the waves were very high.

Fantastic Property. Right next door to Atlantis, a stones throw from the beach and only a 10$ (USD) Cab ride to Nasua.... Fantastic 4 days.... 50/50 weather. The Food was very good and the staff was excellent. No complaints.

Beautiful beach and lots of good fun. Nightly entertainment was not as good. A bit expensive for what you get.

This was my fifth time at this resort. It is a great value for the money. The location is great and the food is 5 star. I was a little disappointed this time with our room selection. I asked for 2 double beds since I took my 16 year old son for his birthday. They gave us a king bed room and told us there were no other rooms available. They provided a cot that was not at all acceptable. We made the best of it, but it was a huge disappointment. The weather was not great, but that had nothing to do with the hotel. This may have been our last time at the Riu. Time to try something else.

we love the riu paradise island and have been there twice. the food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. the hotel exterior could benefit from a paint job. it looks very pale and there are many paint cracks and chips on the outside. also the hotel rooms could use a paint job and a bit of a facelift. thank you

the hotel was very nice, the service was very good....the food was good, although we ate one night at the Sir Alexander and the food was terrible.

It was as expected. However small things which could make a huge difference are the following. Poolside restrooms should be cleaned on a more regular basis. Unfortunately there are patrons who over drink and then use these facilities for various ailments. Very unclean in these particular washrooms. The Steak House on the grounds did not meet up to our expecations. However, the breakfast and luncheon buffets were well done and presented.

This was our second time here and they've made some great improvements. Added a new fusion restaurant and updated the rooms. Well done!

It was OK but in my opinion not a 5 star. This hotel is tired and she is showing her age. 4 star at best. You have to get the basics right, clean sheets, comforters, bathrooms etc. need to be revisited. Also my "oceanview suite" was a standard room at most hotels.
Food was good, lots of variety and beach is absolutely amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The weather was great, the food was good and the drinks were flowing. There were some areas to improve on, however it was predominantly positive from our end.

Great vacation, staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to ensure that your stay is comfortable; we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Not much night life or activities for children, but if you want rest & relaxation this is definitely a place to stay. Please note that Ocean View is not the same as Ocean Front!

We were on a short stay vacation- great value for what we paid, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The beach is wonderful and kept clean. Overall cleanliness everywhere was very good.
