 Fantastic

The Marina was a clean and beautiful hotel and provided a great atmosphere. You would not know that you were in the downtown district. The staff were very friendly and the hotel provided great food.

 2nd visit to Renaissance

Second stay at the Renaissance Aruba, Marina. Staff is generally helpful and efficient. Received a free room upgrade since we did not want to be in the noiser part of the hotel that overlooks the lounge and main street.

Rooms have comfortable beds, but the bathroom, especially the shower. It is outdated and should be replaced.

The dinners at L.G. Smith Steakhouse Restaurant were excellent as was the service. Angus beef steaks, surf & turf, pasta, or chicken.

Buffet restuarant was good but boring very quickly, especially for breakfast and lunch. Dinners at the buffet were usually seafood - lobster tails, crab legs, scallops, shrimp, and four types of fish.

Ate only once at the other Renaissance Hotel, the Resort Hotel, and the food was okay. Service was friendly and good.

Did not use the swimming pool at the hotel. The pool is small and you cannot swim if there are more than six people in the pool.

Private Island beaches are small but comfortable and convenient. Food service is available at your beach chair or you can sit down at the restuarant part. Wifi on the beach is also a nice feature.

A trip to Eagle beach is a must. Palm beach was a bit rocky and very crowded. Baby beach is calm and shallow in some parts, but very rough with strong currents where the snorkelling is.

 Aruba Island

This hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. The food was great and our room was smaller than expected but very comfortable and clean.

 Aruba Renaissance Experience

The Aruba Renaissance Marina Resort and Casino was as expected, a large hotel chain resort. The only two areas that we found that would be rated as "poor" was that there was nothing to do at the hotel in the evening hours! No entertainment or activities were offered other than the Casino. The other negative is that the private island beach is directly across a small channel from the airport runway! The constant roar of passenger jets taking off was enough to make conversation almost impossible at times. The Adult beach also had a lot of rocks to contend with when entering the water. Water shoes are definitely recommended! The family beach was busier but less rocky. There was also no activities offered at the beach. The rooms were typical for this class of hotel, and were clean and efficient. King bed was very comfortable. The staff were freindly and accommodating in all areas. The food at this location was five star plus! Best we have ever experienced in all are travels in the Carribean. The weather was consistant and hot! The island also has a constant breeze and beautiful clear turquoise water to cool you off when needed. We would return to Aruba but to a different resort, as we are more beach orientated. For those who like a more urban experience, with lots of shopping, but still with a Carribean flare, this is the resort for you!

 NOT a 4 star

very dissapointed.Grungy furniture around reception was not a good first impression. Our room was o.k. but faced into the centre of the hotel making it dark at all time of the day. Bath tub looks like it may have been painted at one time and now had no shine, looked dirty. Food was good. Steak house very good with good quality steaks. The seafood restuarant has Lobster, crab, lovely sushi, salads every night.

 Great spot

Very commercial in an urban location, perfect for shopping especially fine jewellery as hotel is in a high end mall. Scenic location and very unique with fantastic food and alcoholic treats similar of what we are familiar with here in Canada. I don't think the private island beach is all its cracked up to be as the boat ride after a trip or 2 the novelty wears off. I suggest if you want internet to try and pick up wireless in your room 1st before committing to purchase through hotel as I needlessly paid for the whole week and discovered on 2nd day I could get free however they would not rebate the difference in days! Different cruise ships in port almost daily directly out front of hotel which brought huge tourism to the area. I would go back in a heartbeat just hope they don't get too carried away with the pricing!!! Not sure why this isn't rated 5 star??

 Great Value

Private beach was nice but the noise from the nearby airport was annoying at times. Everyone was super friendly and the service was the best I have experienced to date. The all inclusive package was well worth the extra money.Overall a great holiday!

 Great Experience

Very Close to the Airport. The room wasn't ready right away, but we were able to stay by the pool and eat while we waited. There was nothing special about the room, but that was okay as we were hardly in it. We went all inclusive, too expensive not too. It was a tad annoying to sign for everything compared to a typical wrist band. However, the food and drinks were leaps and bounds better than the all inclusives I've been too. I had more Lobster tail in 1 week than ever before. The private Island was beautiful and we never worried about finding a lounger. The boat ride to the Island was enjoyable as well. The Flamingos, crabs, lizards on the Island were nice to see up close. The service was excellent all around. The hotels location is downtown, so a little louder than something secluded, but it was cool to be by the Marina and see some nice boats and the cruise ships daily. The flea Market is an easy walk with typical nic nacs. I would not recommend the Submarine tour, expensive and no bang for the buck. (we didn't have kids with us). There were no activities to keep us busy, but we were there to relax. Again, I will stress how good the food and drinks were. We would definately return!!

 Renaisance Marina Hotel

My wife and I always dreamed of going to Aruba and I will highly recommend the Marina hotel to anyone. The staff were excellent and the food was awesome especially The Steakhouse. The weather was great and the pool was really refreshing. Our room was close to the lobby and we never had any problems I loved the convenience. It was so neat watching all the ships from the pool. The jeep ride is bumpy beware very off road. My only suggestion would be to have some entertainment at night. We cant wait to return in the near future.Remember it is very windy but it is so welcoming as it is very hot.

 Excellent

An excellent place to stay, the staff were friendly, helpful and always pleasant, the rooms were clean and very comfortable, they had all the things we required. The beaches were wonderful and clean, nice place to spend time with children or just as a couple. The pools are well kept and always lots of towels available. The restaurant food and staff were beyond our expectations!

 Excellent Vacation

Really enjoyed our stay at Renaissance Aruba. Although a tad expensive the quality of the food was outstanding, whether doing the buffet or ala cart. The hotel was well kept. The private island was fantastic. The only concern was that there weren't more activities included in the all inclusive pkg other than the casino.

 Happy times

The hotel is located downtown Oranjestad. It has no beach on it's own but if you're in the pool you can see the ocean. The pool area is clean and attractive. The problem are the loungers wich are very often soaked from the frequent showers or broken. The staff is fantastic and the food is amazing. For us it was all together beyond expectations and we will definetly try to come back.

 We loved Aruba!

The hotel bar and lobby were very comfortable. The pool was perfect for cooling off and enjoying the view of the marina and cruise ships. The room was small but nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and lots of pillows! The bath tub was dated and needed replacing. The restaurants were amazing and the staff so pleasant, professional and accommodating!
A wrist band would have been a more convenient, relaxing service rather than having to sign off on the bills.
The traffic was busy in front of hotel and the smell of diesel often wafted through either because of the traffic or the boat in the lobby.

 Excellent Hotel and Service

The reception staff was excellent for check-in and any questions. Bartenders, what can I say, WOW. Prompt and great guys. The rooms were average and had nice view of the resort. The food was the best next to Princess Cruise Lines. The private island was great for families or just hanging out as lots of space and loungers. Everything and everyone there was fabulous. Close to shopping malls and airport(planes didn't bother us). Excellent vacation.

 Great expierience

We loved this hotel, we had the all inclusive at the Marina. The rooms were more like a hotel then typical all inclusives and the bathroom was small and plain. But after that everything was fantastic. Beautiful location, the people and staf are amazing. Food was premium from start to finish. Best food I've had at an all inclusive. Spent most of our time at 3 locations, adult pool and bar, ocean suites swim up bar and beach, or the private island. All 3 have their perks and very very enjoyable with fantastic staff, food, and drinks.

Great resort, definitely great value for money based on what we paid (approx $1500/person for all inclusive). Island and people are beautiful, would definitely return to this resort/island.

A Place to go back to!

The Rennaisance hotel was great. It was nice you could go to the other hotels and eat there too.We ate at the A.G. Smith three times. It was so good. The food was great everywhere. Weather was perfect. Our room even had a kitcen area with sink and microwave and couch area.we went on the jeep tour and submarine tour.Visited the island, saw the flamingos. We swam in our pool.We were busy all the time.We will be going back in the future.

 A Really Good Time

The hotel staff, service & especially the food were amazing. Stayed at the Marina (adults only)which is where better bars & restaurants are located. Rooms were basically "hotel size & style, but ok & clean. Private island & beaches were a bonus, no pan-handlers, never fighting for chairs (anywhere on resort) and the 7-8 minute boat ride that picks you up right in the hotel lobby was very unique & refreshing. You are right in the downtown area, so lots to do including shopping, restaurants & enterrtainment. The only downsides to this resort is there is no long stretch of beach to walk, and there's little to no nightly entertainment in the main bar area. For those who gamble (not my thing), two casino's right on resort property.

 One Happy Island

Truly a beautiful resort with all the extras. This place is well run and the food and drinks are the best. The Island Suites were very nice...beds comfy. It is spread out with lots of room and it is so nice. The staff were also so hard working. Very good value for your money will be going back and staying in the same place

 Renaissance ocean suites

The hotel Should not get more than 3stars. Has no entertainment for any kind in any occasions.
We spent two weeks through Christmas and new year. Did nothing after dinner.
The house keeping was very poor. They do not vacuum the floor if you leave items on the floor like socks shoes ....assuming it is personal.
The bathrooms smells they hardly mop or clean the counters again we left our stuff on it like toothpastes creams..... Untouched ....
The matresses were very dirty.
What more should I say? The lobby was way too small for anything.
No beach at this hotel. You have to take the boat to the island every time" you should never go without Gravol".
The restaurant at the island has lots of flies.

 Can't wait to go back!

Just returned from 1 week at Renaissance Aruba and can't wait to go back. Amazing food and service! The private island was the highlight of our stay. We have stayed at many "all inclusives" and the Renaissance was by far the best experience to date.

 Renaissance Marina Tower Aruba

The Renaissance Marina Tower in Aruba was a great resort to stay at. It is 14 and would recommend it to adults and we would definitely go there again...food was great...service and staff very genuine and friendly and helpful...loved getting on the boat to go out to the private island and beaches...food, beaches and scenery great out there as well...it was also very nice to be able to go between the Marina Tower and Ocean Suites to eat or swim...more of a variety being able to go to the swim up bar and pool. Choice of drinks was unbelievable...could order anything...stores and casino right there...very beautiful island!
