My daughter and I needed a get away and went to this location. The hotel needs allot of work and most of the staff were uncaring and at many times very rude. It seemed as though most of the ppl we met on our trip felt the same and shared issues they had experienced. The phones did not work, water was cold for first couple of days, then the water was off constantly, power would go out, sliding glass door would get stuck. Other guests had cockroaches, water leaks, air conditioners were not working and the reception seemed as though they were annoyed by any concern. I would not recommend this place to anyone and feel the value for the $ i payed was poor. Every guest that I met will be sharing their concerns.

The trip from Punta Cana airport to the hotel was painful....4hours in the bus after 3hrs flight was too much to take. Staff very friendly, room nice and clean, food not bad but most of the time was cold. Entertainment was terrible, the worse I have seen in a long time.

We booked last minute at peak New Years Eve Time and hence there wasnt much choice. It was priced high for the rating and this may as well be a 1 or 2 star. Half the resort was closed and the other half needed severe maintenance. Everyone had some issues or the other. No 24 hr food or drink service. Sea sports kiosks hardly open. Most of the staff was lazy except for when managers were around. Saving grace was a handful of staff (Amauris, Mario, Antonio, Thomas) that was hardworking, sincere and a real pleasure. We made the best of our time. Horrible sound system at the disco and staff wasnt too engaging.

Les employés de l' hotel étaient très gentils, pas beaucoup de touristes étaient présents, les chambres faites attention que les portes soient bien barrées, surtout la porte patio, l' eau de la douche était pas très chaude, la plage est belle, mais n' achetez pas nimporte quoi des vendeurs et faites baisser les prix de ce que vous achetez! Vous pouvez aller au magasin tout près du site (chocolate plaza)ils vendent des souvenirs pas cher et il y a un bar et un café internet où vous pouvez utiliser les ordinateurs pour 30 pesos pour 30 minutes soit moins de 1 dollard us où bien vous pouvez appeler au canada ou usa pour 10 pesos par minute soit 28 cents us, Le buffet était moyen mais quand même bien. Très bien pour pratiquer son espagnol car seulement quelques employés parlaient anglais et peut etre 1 ou 2 parlaient français. Nous sommes arrivés à punta cana et avons fait le trajet en autobus c' est 3-4 heures! Mais c' est pas grave car vous visitez en même temps ce pays très pauvre et pris quelques photos, J' en pleurait presque quand je voyais la pauvretée des gens. Vous pouvez boire de la bière dans l' autobus que le représentant de sunwing vend 5 $ chaque (un peu cher!) mais ne lui donnez pas de pourboire, il en a déjà assez. Pas beaucoup de spectacle sur le site, si vous voulez un endroit qui bouge vous devriez aller ailleurs, endroit correct pour relaxer.

One unpleasant incident only, when 2 of the entertainment staff came uninvited to our table, sat and starting eating.

Je suis partie avec une de mes amies.Nous ne savions pas à quoi nous attendre étant donné qu'il s'agit d'un trois étoiles. Toutefois, nous avons été agréablement surprise. Comparable à un 4 étoiles. Notre chambre était à 30 secondes de la plage!

Juan Dolio is a sleepy resort village. People who want to relax, snorkel, enjoy the beach will like this place. If you want a busy night life, go somewhere else. Loved the snorkeling just off the beach. Staff were really nice, rooms were big and clean. Many different pools, flamingos and ponds with fish made the grounds interesting. Loved long morning walks on the never ending beach, watching pelicans feeding was a bonus !

Beware of sea urchins in the water, I stepped in one and had to go to Emerg to get all the spines removed from my feet

belle hotel avec un service tres mediocre. La recptionniste en particulier qui n'avais aucune facon avec les clients(surtout canadien). les geo devrais etre changer selon notre opinion.les gens de santo domingo n'ont pas l'aire d'aimer les touriste, pas tres courtois.

Okay so my girlfriend and I just got back from Talanquera and absolutely loved it. The late flight and 3 hour bus drive was kind of long, but we took it as a free site seeing trip. Check in was fast and our room was upgraded to a king size bed (originally 2 double beds) and an oceanview with a balcony. The room was very clean as were the sheets and towels all week. Hot water was almost instant in the shower and remained hot for as long as you wanted. Talanquera is VERY quiet during the week (we had maybe 40 people in the whole resort)which also meant the beach was quiet and basicly childless. Beach is very big and has nice sand and you can walk for miles down the beach to check out the other resorts. The employees are exceptional and we have had so much fun with all of them. This is not a place for young people to go who want to get "smashed" and go crazy at a disco. A couple complaints we had was that although the food was good, it was EXTREMELY repetitive. We couldn't wait to eat Wendy's at the Punta Cana airport on the way home. They do offer hot dogs, hamburgers and nachos around 11:30 at night outside the disco. The resort does have a lot of beach vendors but a simple no thank you will be good enough. If you want to have a good time make friends with Eric from the animation team and if you're interested in some excursions talk to Danielle at the dive centre. We took the atv'ing excursion offered by him (not by Sunwing) and werent sure what to expect. They pick you up and drive you about 1 minute down the road to their location which is beside the casino outside of the Costa Caribe resort. It cost $60.00 per atv for a 2.5 hour tour through the villages, jungle, and sugar cane fields. Absolutely amazing but make note to wear some older clothes because you can get super dirty! All in all I would give this resort a 3 star.

Very tired looking in bad need of upgrading. Must have been a beautiful place in it's heyday!. Too bad it was such a long bus ride from Punta Cana airport.
We enjoyed the experience and we got what we paid for!!. Certainly wouldn't pay full price, would maybe go back if we could arrive at a closer airport and knew that some refurbishing had been done!. It served it's purpose ....Sea, Sand and Sun!!

It was the worst experience ever. Had to wait for over 3 hours every day for a clean beach towels, no clean cutlery, card key wouldnt work most of the time. Same food everyday not much of a variety. Got herrassed on the beach by locals.3 hour bus ride to resort from airport and rude employees.

What a wonderful time in paradise.

This resort had very lush gardens with a touch of soothing charm that is hard to resist.
Many fish, turtles, flamingos, fountains, water falls about the grounds.
