Charmant endroit, respectueux de l'environnement. Les édifices se trouvent discrètement dans un boisé. C'est un endroit romantique avec une belle clientèle à majorité italienne et française. Nous recommandons cet hôtel. Nous avons été satisfaits à tous les points de vue; beauté de la plage, restauration, personnel, propreté et entretien de l'ensemble. Le complexe n'est ni trop petit, ni trop grand pour s'y déplacer. Nous avions déjà été à Cuba et en République dominicaine dans des hôtels 4 étoiles. Celui-ci offre un peu plus, à tous les points de vue.

Très bon séjour à cet hôtel,six jours de beau temps la plage semble la plus belle de la région par contre il faut se lever assez tôt pour avoir une place à l'ombre, le personnel est très souriant et met tout en place pour rendre notre séjour agréable.
La nourriture dans les restaurants est bonne mais le service un peu rapide.

du 14 au 21 avril 2012 - Nous revenons du Catalonia Playa Maroma, tout était parfait, la nourriture, le service, la réception. Le personnel est toujours souriant, serviable et très attentionné. Les restos à la carte tant qu'à nous sont très bons, l'italien: nous sommes allés à 2 reprises et la nourriture était excellente, le grill steak house, moi mon steak fondait dans la bouche, mon mari a choisi autre chose et a été déçu, conclusion tout dépend de notre choix. L'espagnol et les tapas bons aussi. à 20mn en taxi de Playa Del Carmen (5e ave). La plage est tout simplement magnifique et très très longue, idéale pour les grandes marches (pas besoin de souliers de plage). Je retournerais sans hésitation à cet hôtel.

Nous recommandons cet hôtel sur tous les plans : qualité et rapidité du service, excellente nourriture, propreté exemplaire et personnel attentionné et très sympatique.

Nous y sommes allés pour la mer et la plage. C'est un succès. Nous sommes entourés d'une végétation très dense. C'est un endroit parfait pour se reposer. On en a pour notre argent. The hotel was fabulous, not the most impressive in terms of lobby/entrance decor but the 'privileged' room was worth the upgrade. The grounds were lovely and the beach was amazing, white powdery sand, no rocks and almost no seaweed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Nous revenons d'un séjour de 7 jours au Catalonia Playa Maroma. C'est notre premier voyage au Mexique et notre 11e dans les Caraïbes (Cuba,République). Ce fut une semaine inoubliable: Acceuil chaleureux, personnel toujours courtois, souriant et disponible à répondre à nos demandes. La chambre (nous étions au Bloc 3, chambre 3112) était propre et bien entretenue à tous les jours. La douche nécéssite une rénovation mais pour le reste, tout était bien. La nourriture au Buffet était excellente le matin et le midi avec beaucoup de variétés. Celui du soir aurait besoin de plus de changements car les mêmes mets revenaient souvent. Par contre, les pâtes qu'on nous préparait à notre goût, étaient très bien apprêtées. Nous avons eu droit à 4 Restos à la carte. Nous sommes allés 2 fois à l'Italien et 2 fois au Grill. Les 2 restos offrent d'excellents et succulents repas et le service aux tables est impeccable. Concernant le site, tout est très bien entretenu. Le sentier reliant le Lobby à la Plage (environ 500 Metres) nous fait passer à travers une mini jungle, le tout agrémenté d'une musique calme et reposante (du style de celle dans les centres de massage). Au passage, nous rencontrons quelques coatis (animaux de la taille d'un chat et ressemblant à des raton-laveurs). Ces animaux sont inoffenssifs. Bien sûr, comme tout animal, il ne faut pas les provoquer.
La plage est sublime et très comparable aux plus belles plages de Cuba. Elle est large et longue. Son sable blanc et poudreux nous a rappellé celui de Punta Cana et de Cayo Santa Maria. Nous avons eu droit à une Paella cuisinée directement sur la plage: quel délice!
Seul point à noter: vous devez être très tôt le matin pour réserver vos chaises sur la plage. Mais cela semble être un point à noter à tous les endroits où nous sommes allés surtout en cette période de l'année.
Nous recommendons cette Hôtel pour la qualité de son personnel, de la plage et du site très enchanteur, sans oublier les restos à la carte qui soit dit en passant ne requièrent pas de réservation à l'avance. Allez-y, vous serez combés.

Nous avons apprécié l'ambiance intime de ce complexe avec l'allée centrale aménagée au travers de la mangrove, ainsi que les différents blocs d'habitations avec ses balcons donnant vue sur la cour intérieure et ses fontaines. La plage est magnifique et propice pour effectuer de longues randonnées avec des sections vierges de développement.

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on a very long stretch of white sandy beach surrounded by a tropical jungle-like setting. We found the meals were delicious.

Un endroit agréable, chambres confortables avec une terrasse individuelle, très bon buffet, les serveurs aimables même sans pourboire (mais 2 fois plus avec :), une très belle plage bien qu'un tout petit peu surpeuplée. Des coatis absolument adorables. Des excursions pour tous les goûts (évitez celle de la bijouterie avec chauffeur, une perte de temps terrible; Chichen Itza par contre à ne pas manquer (surtout avec Fernando comme guide). Les restos à la carte très bien aussi (l'italien est très raffiné). Bref, un endroit plus qu'honnête pour l'argent (1000$/personne).

Beautiful beach. The rooms were ok,food o.k (not enough variety)front desk not helpful.Road in to hotel a little scary, it make you fear what hotel you picked.Very friendy staff members. THANK-YOU to Johny (entertainer) and Mariella (lounge waitress) they were both awesome!

The staff are attentive and friendly, the a la carte restaurants (especially Toscana/Italian) were very good, the beach is fabulous (though you need to be an early bird to get a beach chair--too many "saved" without occupants), our room was spacious and clean, the pool was picturesque, and our 'tour' guide (Marie-Pierre) was tops. Avoid the "information" booths coming out of the airport--they appear to be official guides but are actually slick salespeople for time-share/long-term vacation purchases. They will eventually get your time [calculate what you are paying for it!] and at least some of your money if you get involved (Probably OK if you have a lot of time and/or are shopping for a time-share). Your bus to the hotel will be waiting in the outdoor area and you can book any vacation package from your hotel. The "Privileged" upgrade is worth it. A nice 'European' flavour with a mix of English, Italian, French, and German guests. The "size" (under a thousand total capacity) is nice. A cross-section of ages, but more "mature." Good value for money. Take at least one excursion. Ideal stay would be 7-10 days.

Nice Hotel very friendly staff, amazing beach food was fairly good..just a great time ..it went by to quick...strongly recommend this hotel for the money, would come back in a heart beat.

Acceuil et services excellent,Plage exceptionnelle de sable blanc et mer bleu,nouriture très bonne et beaucoup de choix. Chambre standard très ordinaire. Gros inconfort des fumeurs au lobby au spectacle et près des bars intérieurs.

overall very good value. great beach and pool. privilege rooms by pool were very nice and close to everything. very well maintained property and friendly and fun staff. Food was good lots of choices. wish we were still there.

14 of us travelled together. We had beautiful service at all the "hot spots" - the pool, the beach, the a la cartes and the buffet. Food was excellenct at all the sites! Thoroughly enjoyable.

Overall a good experience. Staff was fantastic, Animation/Entertainment staff excellent, house wine not so good, buffet average, a-la-cartes average. Difficult to get into Steak house unless you arrived prior to opening. Housekeeping very good. Beautiful Beach. Guests should not be allowed to place towels on chairs to reservc them several hours in advance of when they plan to use them. Chairs were reserved by 7 am and often not used until late morning. Arrived around 10 am, but room not ready until 3:30-4:00.

We were well taken care of. Check-in and check-out went well. luggage was well organized. Rooms were dated but clean. Food was excellent!!! No booking for a la carte restaurants.
Beach was wow....A little too windy by the beach.

When we arrived the front desk was friendly, effecient and fast. We got to our room, we had read reviews before we had left, about the rooms yes they could use a little update but then who spends their time in the rooms, so it didn't bother us, they were clean and effecient and that is all we wanted. The buffet was very good for every meal and they had a different theme for every night. The beach here was the nicest beach we had seen in Mexico, they cleaned the seaweed up every morning, the water was beautiful, waves were fun to play in, just be careful a bit with the riptide even though they always had a lifeguard on duty. There were many europeans here, about 90% of the people, very few canadians, so not a lot of english was spoken here, mostly in spanish, french and italian, but when we asked the staff to speak english they did their best, and after a few days of asking to speak in english, as soon as they saw us, right away they would speak english. The event staff, like Johnny, Johan and Andreas were great, they made our stay very memorable, The entertainment at night was usually quite good, don't expect a Vegas show, but they do their best, The staff puts in long days 12-14hrs. I would highly recommend this resort to my friends, definitely worth the price.

Great hotel and staff! First time to Mexico and couldn't have picked a better place. Would go back in a heartbeat!

The staff at the hotel were really great, the pool and beach are really nice, we have a Privialge room and so that was good too. The major downfall of this hotle is the food! It was very repetitive and not even the al a cart were very good. Drinks at the bars were for the most part thrown togehter, nothing fancy. The entertainment staff do their best but defianly do not cater the English speaking travellers as most people were French speaking which was fine but Kids Club staff also spoke mainly French or Spanish and I felt bad for my English speaking child who could not participate in many of the activities. For the price it was okay, wouldn't go back. This was our 3rd time in Mexico this year so we know that there are better resorts out there. Also bring small demoniation pesos for tipping we tried repeativly to get change at the reception and money exchange to no avail and the staff really do a good job and deserve the tips!

This was our favorite all inclusive so far...we travel every year. I realize not everyone thinks the same so let me explain why we feel this was the best all inclusive.
For us a good beach is a must!Maroma is beautiful and you can walk forever on this beach..yeh!.This is a small resort, no high rises here yeh!again. The atmosphere is typical of mexico yeh!The nice walk through the jungle path was a treat every day. No need to line up to get a a la carte reservation and plan your whole stay in advance.yeh!You get 4 a la carte...The Buffet was so good that we almost felt sorry we were missing it when we went to the restaurants! Every night at the buffet was a different theme.They even had a white and milk chocolate foutain one night! Really love the chic Italian restaurant, The filet mignon at the steak house was quite good.
The rooms on the privilege side were lovely. Tiling in our rooms was a bit old but hey! how much time does one spend in the bathroom.
Staff is extremely nice. If you can speak a little spanish they are easily impressed.
Only dissapointement for us was the lack of nightly live music. Sylvia and Luppo sing in the main lobby a couple of nights. They seem like lovely people but the show was basically Kareoke.
Tip: if you sit on the privilege side of the beach you can get drinks served to you which we never saw on the other side.

Charming and relaxing resort! Recommend a stay anytime!
