I have been to many resorts and this is the best one I have visited! It is NOT a party resort, rather, a beautiful quiet getaway. No loud music at the pool, friendly staff, and breathtaking views, great snorkling right off the beach. If you are a party animal, please stay away from this resort. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is the place for you! They use bottled water and the food was great.

Service was excellent! Food was great! Power went out one night for approx 2 hours had to get dressed in the dark before dinner! Snorkling is breath taking! Nice and quiet! Flight not happy wanted a direct flight we had one stop had to get off plane and noticed our luggage was off to had to get a supervisors attention. They didnt really want to listen to us finally my husband took him to our luggage and they brought our luggage back onto the plane not happy

WE HAD AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL VACATION. THE RESORT HAS A LOT TO OFFER. YOU CAN DO AS MUCH, OR AS LITTLE AS YOU WANT. THE STAFF WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO BE PLEASANT AND HELPFUL. WE MET SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT WERE ON THEIR 5-6 VISIT AT THE PARADISUS RIO DE ORO. THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES TO THE SERVICE AND QUALITY OF THE RESORT.

We couldn't have been treated better. This was our 3rd time at this resort. There have been expansions since our last visit (being the deluxe suites). We were very well looked after and we stayed in the Junior Suites. Staff always seem to go out of their way to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. We will return again.!!!

This was our third time returning to this hotel and one of the main reasons is because it is supposed to be "Adults Only". To our dismay, this time there was a very large group staying in the villa near us with 10 - 12 children of all ages. When we questioned management, we never did get a straight answer, except that this was a very wealthy family from Venezuela. I didn't see anywhere in the "Adults Only" description where it stated, "depending on how much money you have". I think that this should be addressed with the hotel, and we will definitely think twice about going there again.

Staff, food,amenities were all excellent. Friends had recommended this resort, and we enjoyed it too. i don't think "a dream come true" would be applicable to ANY vacation, but e expected it to be first class, and it is.

As we arrived at the hotel we were greeted and were given our rooms right away,our room was big nicely decorated and clean we also had a balcony .we were well situated between the restaurants and the beach and poll area.
The staff was always willing to help and fulfill any request we had.there was a variety of food and a lot of it the wait staff was great always smiling and willing to serve.
There was entertainment every night and it was very professional and enjoyable.
I would recommend this hotel to my freinds and have done so already.

We have stayed at many all-inclusives and this one has been the best. The resort was lovely, the food very good, entertainment jaw-dropping. Everything top notch. We'll be back next year!

This was our seventh visit to Rio de Oro and we will go back again. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food service is great. We enjoyed the entertainment, the snorkeling. Daily activities and excursions are very enjoyable. One of our group caught the stomach ailment that was going around but the doctor at the hotel was wonderful - service and medication were provided at no charge and within hours the patient felt 100% better! Lovely sandy beach for walking and sunning. Good snorkeling, lots of fish and coral to see,only a few yards out.

Beautiful,Great Vacation it was a like a dream come true.. Wonderful staff, accomadations, clean, wonderful clean resort. Food was exceptional..Great weather, relaxing!I loved the outdoor shower.. one of our morning highlights..

This was a return visit for us to Paradisus. We enjoyed ourselves so much last year we had to return. Staff remembered us from last year and treated us like family. We have been to numerous Sandals resorts in the Carribean and the food at this resort is as good with excellent presentation and variety. The wines are a little young but so what! If you like to snorkel this resort is excellent as you can reach the reefs that other people are paying to go too right off the private beach. I have nothing against children but I have paid my dues and do not like to be in the same resort for various reasons that a lot of you can relate too. The atmosphere is laid back so if you like to party all night this might not be your first choice. We are so active during the day that come 10 pm we have had enough for one day. Remember to tip the staff. They are not payed in convertable pasos. Tipping people for good service with a pesos here and there is not going to break the bank especially when you consider the tip for mediocre service back home for an evening out can cost over  of the bill. We will return to this resort again next year and hopefully longer than a week.

Everything was amazing at this resort. The rooms are getting dated, but they are a good size and are kept very clean. The staff are second to none, and will do almost anything to make your vacation the best ever.

Staff very friendly and always smiling. Suggestion would be to perhaps have more staff at hand when new arrivals are coming in. Hotel is also very nicely decorated and food is amazing.

best resort in cuba

Great time. Lots to do. Staff went out of their way to accommodate. Food was delicious. Will definitely return.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay a week. This is our second time and it gets better. Good excursions. Nothing bad to say except there was no food when we arrived at 11pm and Room Service food was cold and unpalatable.

An excellent hotel with wonderful customer service. Ask for something and it's done. Wonderful variety in the main buffet and good, hot food in the a la carte's (Japanese show table was the best). Beach is a mix of sandy and rocky, but the rocky areas make for excellent snorkeling just a few feet from shore. Standard rooms are spotless - a little basic, beds hard and bathrooms dated - and provide everything you need. Grounds are gorgeous and don't hesitate to try the spa services: They're provided at a very high standard (our family runs a salon/spa in Canada and we were very impressed). Plus, the spa facility (pool, beach etc.) are just stunning.
REMEMBER: A 5-star in Cuba is NOT the equivalent of a European or North American 5 Star. BUT, for Cuban standards, this resort is as good as it gets.

2 days after arriving my husband was very ill with a gastrointestinal illness for 3 days. Other people from different countries were also ill with similar symptoms. I don't think it was the food because I ate the same food and wasn't ill. The staff were aware of these illnesses and showed concern. The TV news reported that 4 planes from Holguin Cuba had several ill people on board and Health Canada felt it was a virus. There were no alcohol hand wash stations and the washrooms by the pool and beach needed more freqent cleaning especially with so many ill. These basic necessities are not used to prevent illness even after suggesting these measures to the management. This was our second trip to this resort. We were not ill on the first trip and raved about the quality of the food and resort in general. This time there were nets over the food stations to keep the birds away from the food but these nets were also handled repeatedly by many people. Cuba is not equipped to handle or prevent a viral outbreak. I would also like to mention that since the opening of the Royal Service at this hotel I have seen a lowering of the quality in the standard resort.

Un excellent cinq étoiles pour Cuba. Il n'y manque qu'un peu de rafraîchissements au niveau des installations et équipements. Sinon, il ne mérite plus de faire partie de la chaîne.

Hotel surrondings are beautiful, food is amazing at the Royal Service restaurant, the staff at the restaurant is top notch, rooms are very nice, the beach is small but private, great spot for snorkeling. The hotel was a little slow in cleaning the beaches from sea weeds and where working during mid day when guests where lounging, rather than first thing in the morning. WiFi was not available and Internet was terrible slow. Overall a nice resort, my second time at this resort.

This is a great resort. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. The food is terrific and varied. Lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, cheeses and great desserts in the buffet. The al a carte restaurants are generally very good however the Japanese restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The beach is a bit of a problem in that some of the sand has been washed away and therefore it can be very tricky crossing the coral but with the coral also come some beautiful fish. This is our 4th visit and we intend to return.

My 3rd time at the Paradisus, as always it was absolutely wonderful. Stayed in the Royal section this time; it was top notch, excellent service, great food and drinks. Atmosphere was a bit too subdued for my taste, classical music playing, everything hush and hush, I suggested they play Cuban music instead. We'll see next time I go... because there definitely will be a next time!!
