This was our first stay at a Riu, and was an absolutely wonderful experience. I think the only thing that was really a surprise to us was that the beach seemed very open to just about anybody. We are more used to the security in the Mayan Riviera, so it was different. A great place to stay..

Great hotel and a superb location. The staff were very accommodating and the restaurant staff was exceptional.

The hotel itself is exceptional in every way - classy, grand, posh. Very clean rooms and premises.

Staff: super-friendly and accommodating. The entertainment was so-so.

Food: overall great. The main large buffet is very good. Krystal has amazing food. Guacamole didn't live up to our expectations.

Ocean: As warm as the Pacific ocean can get.

Facilities: jacuzzi and sauna, gym, bars, free wireless internet in the lobby (in-room wireless costs $10/hr or $15/day). Free kayaking and sailboating.

Tourists: Mostly mature, few young people (teenagers and students are busy partying at the nearby Riu Jaliscu). The public is reasonably quiet, well-behaved, and very friendly.

Just returned from the best vacation ever.Not a thing to complain about.Location was spectular,service at this hotel was unbeatable.We were treated like royalty.Being a vegetarian I was a little worried about the food but there was so much variety it was difficult to decide what to eat every meal.Would we go back? You bet!

1st class all the way. Facilities were excellent, staff was amazing, service was great. One in our party is vegatarian and another has significant food allergies - all special requests accomodated with no problem

Hotel was great - great decor, staff and food - Bathtubs were a bit weird as they had a very narrow rounded bottom - hard to balance while showering - preferred for tropical holidays with all the sand. One person slipped in the tub and was very lucky she did not seriously injure herself- shower curtain slowed her fall to the tiled floor. Jacuzzi are great for a ski resort but not a tropical resort - who soaks in a tub after a hot day on the beach???

Excellent service, superbe hotel, très bonne bouffe. Propreté exceptionnelle. Plage propre et excellente pour la marche. Très beau voyage! Rien de négatif à dire. À recommander et à refaire.

beyond expectations

went with family - this is my mothers 5th time at this resort. Was very impressed all in all.

Initial check-in was smooth - room was ready - however first room had a runny/broken toilet so we switched rooms. second room we were given - we soon found out was already occupied when we walked in on an older couple having sex - so we were then upgraded to a partial ocean view room. We really enjoyed this room. Rooms were maintained twice a day and the service was above standard.

Pool water was warm - i've never swam in a resort pool so warm - really happy with this.

Noticed that the meal service was great if you got there early - the later you got there and closer to closing time the table service went downhill really fast.

We did three tours - Got prices from the sunwing agent - then happened to meet a guy named Sammy on the beach in front of the Palace who sold the same tours - although at a much cheaper price. Sunwing agent wouldn't budge on his price and tried ALOT of swindle moves to get us to book with him... and got very angry at direct questions about what the differences were between him and Sammy on the beach. I wouldn't say the sunwing guy outright lied - but he definantly talked in circles that would make most people think it was dangerous to book with Sammy the beach guy.

We booked all three tours with Sammy - the only difference was that the other people on the bus paid quite a bit more. Same tours as the sunning rep, on the same bus as the people who booked with him. Oh and to make it better - When the bus picked us all up in front of the hotel for one tour, the same sunwing rep came outside and was trying to screw us around with the tour host - luckily the host just ignored him. You would think that the rep would know by now that maybe some tourists can understand spanish.... Realistically, this was the only downfall of our trip to the Palace.

Dinner at the Steakhouse Entree was just so so and i felt like eating at the buffet was better. The mexican restaurant "Guacamole" however was very good with excellent service.

The rest of the week went off without a hitch and we have plans to go to a Riu Palace again - it's rare we go to the same place twice, but we would consider going back here again.

BEYOND AND MORE EXPECTATION THIS STAY AT RIU PALACE PACIFICO WAS MY THIRT YEAR THAT I GO IN VACATION TO THIS RESORT,IT'S A WONDERFOL AND A MACING RESORT ,THAT I RACCOMAND TO OTHER GUEST.

Awesome experience...very clean, plenty of staff waiting to assist you! Lots of food choices...something for everyone!

One of the nicest Hotels that we have ever stayed at!!It truly is a palace...Very safe place for a vacation...

Hotel was beautiful, very clean and constantly being cleaned. All staff was very friendly and helpful, from booking of restaurants to front desk to bars. My only complaint was you could not get a chair at the pool unless you got up really early in the morning and placed towels or books on the chairs to hold them. This was not a major issue though because there were plenty of chairs on the beach. The beach was awesome as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel and visit it again myself.

BEST RIU WE HAVE EVER STAYED AT,STAFF WAS EXCELLENT, HOTEL WAS LOCATED IN AN EXCELLENT AREA,ROOMS ARE JUST BEAUTIFUL, WE RECOMMEND THE HIGHER THE BETTER,WE HAD AN 8TH FLOOR ROOM WITH AN OCEAN VIEW,COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR ANY BETTER,THE SUNRISE,AND THE SUNSET VIEWS WERE JUST FANTASTIC TO VIEW FROM HERE. THE OCEAN VIEW WAS ALSO BREATHTAKING. THE OTHER 2 RIU'S ARE A 5 MIN WALK AWAY ALONG THE BEACH,ALL KINDS OF SHOPPING & (FLEA MARKETS) AVAILABLE IN BUCERIOS A 30-40 MIN WALK ALONG THE BEACH,THE POOL IS REALLY WARM,AND SO CLEAN,HOTEL WAS ALWAYS IMMACULATE,THE FOOD,THE DRINKS,NEVER A DISSAPOINTMENT, THE ENTERTAINMENT AT NIGHT WAS EXCELLENT.WE HAD A BLAST,WE WILL BE BACK!!!

This is definitely a 5 star hotel. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The food is good with a lot of variety. There is good access to the beach, which is great for walking. There are lots of beach loungers and pool loungers. There are lots of bars and specialty restaurants. One thing that we did not like was the continual pushing of the alcohol. You could not just sit and enjoy the beach, pool, or lobby without continually being asked what you wanted to drink. It was relentless. The staff are friendly and try hard to make sure everything is well looked after.

Very nice resort; maybe a little quiet for my liking. The rooms were beautiful, however the beds were a huge disappointment...very hard. We did end up requesting pads for the beds which helped. Service - bar staff, pool staff, entertainment staff and cleaning staff were excellent. The buffet had a very large selection, although did get repetative and it was difficult to make reservations in a la carte restaurants. We were also under the impression that we could use the a la carte restaurants at the other 2 Riu's since we were in the highest level and that was not the case.
Overall, good experience.

This ,"all inclusive" vacation was
simply , fantastic. And we'll do it

The Palace was awesome, there was only one thing I was dissapointed with, I booked garden veiw and got a room with a veiw of the parking lot for the resort next to us.

We were overwhelmed with the hotel, room, service, restaurants, beach.. and could not find one thing to complain about... fantastic place. We had stayed in Riviera Nayarit on previous occasions but not at this resort and would definitely return on future vacations.

This place is fabulous. Very clean ,well maintained, a palace feel. Very victorian. Food is good, still a buffet. Food is very salty not sure why. Maids are always cleaning and sweeping. I made sure they got tipped as well as the cleaner constantly cleaning pool area Bathroom. Having a clean bathroom is important and it is nice to Notice their hard work by an occasional tip. No theft this trip. Free wireless and courtesy computer was Nice. Pool was warm and a lg even warmer pool. Beach is lovely for walking on.

We visited the Palace for our 10th wedding anniversary, November 2011 and decided to go back for Christmas/New Year's because we had such a wonderful time. Unfortunately, it was not the same experience. For our tastes...it was just way too loud at the pool with a guy on a microphone trying to get everyone into a party mood. We went to the Jalisco last Christmas and were hoping to have a more "civilized" environment at the Palace. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the staff are very accomodating and polite. The buffet could be changed up a bit for lunch.

The hotel is beautiful, really is like a palace and very clean.Would likely return.
