If you want to relax and get away from the world, this is the place for you. The service is phenomenal, the food and drinks are excellent, and the grounds are beautiful. We would go back to this resort in a heartbeat.

Une des plus belles plages et mer que j'ai vu... comparable aux plages de Cuba! Pas une roche dans l'eau, sable blanc et mer aux teintes de turquoise... Vraiment beau! En plus, j'aime beaucoup faire de l'apnée et il y a plein de poissons, raies, coraux à voir pas très loin, c'est super! Mais attention de ne JAMAIS nourrir les poissons dans la mer, car ça attire les barracuda et une dame s'est fait mordre à cause de ça.
La chambre était très bien (nous avions une chambre de qualité supérieure dans le bloc 6). Lit très confortable. Il est à noter qu'on ne voit pas la mer d'aucune chambre du resort, mais si on est au 3e étage, on voit par dessus les arbres, ce qui donne plus de luminosité.
La nourriture est très bien en général. J'ai moins aimé le resto Tapas (décor magnifique, mais nourriture trop froide). Mais le steak au resto grill est vraiment très bon et le resto mexicain très bon aussi. Le choix au buffet le matin et le midi sont très bien et pour tous les goûts.

Faut vraiment être chialeux pour trouver quelque chose de négatif!

à notre arrivée à l'hôtel nous avons été acceuillis avec un beau sourire et gentillesse. Nous devions attendre à 15h00 pour accéder à nos chambres, mais en attendant on peut aller manger au buffet près de la plage et c'est très bon. Le personnel de cet hôtel parle bien le français et ils sont très aimables et polis. Pas besoin de pantalon long pour messieurs, un bermuda, chemise ou polo avec sandale sont acceptés, et c'est super de ne pas réserver pour les restos à la carte. Notre préféré : Les Tapas et le Grill sans oublier le buffet en soiré est très bien aussi. Il y a beaucoup de québécois et d'italiens. La plage est vraiment belle, il faut toutefois aller réserver ses chaises tôt le matin, si poissible avant 8h00. Pour le retour à Montréal, nous devions quitter l'hôtel à 6h20, alors nous avons demandé un appel de réveil et aussi demandé de venir chercher nos valises, ils sont très ponctuels. Nous avons passé de très belles et inoubliables vacances. Je vais sûrement y retourner, pour moi c'est un 5*. C'est l'endroit idéal pour se reposer et faire le plein d'énergie.

matelas déformé et inconfortable
party de piscine du vendredi soir est assourdissant dans les chambres (bloc 6)
interdit de partir seul avec catamaran et impossible d'avoir un tour avec guide.
Pour la plongée en tuba; ordinaire pour personne habitué. Pour voir un petit récif, dépassé les limites de bouée et allez du côté gauche à plus de 150 pieds.
Beaucoup de monde sur la plage qui est très étroite, ne vous fiez pas aux photos car le terrain du resort est très petit, on peut marcher de chaque côté et se baigner aussi mais pas s'étendre avec une chaise.
Pour les amateurs de scuba (plongée avec cylindre) ne faites pas affaire avec le kiosque du Catalonia (Une plongée $70 us) allez plutôt à droite sur la plage marchez 5 minutes et vous verrez un peu en retrait un gros poisson blanc sur un hutte, c'est un centre de plongée certifié PADI, guide et instructeur d'initiation de plongé de première classe (2 plongées =$70 et initiation 1 plongée $90).
En général c'était très bien,ça dépend toujours ce que vous recherché.

Nous avons grandement apprécié cet hôtel pour la quiétude de l'endroit et les espaces intimes qui inspiraient la détente. L'endroit est propre, chic et superbe. Une semaine de rêve en amoureux!

For the price we paid for this resort package, we expected a lot more.

We were at the Valentin last year which was superior to the Catalonia by far.

Third time and CRT continues to be amazing. Clean white sand that leads into aqua blue water, no weeds stones shells. Lots of palapas, palm trees. Nice pool. Waitress service at beach and pool. NO RESERVATIONS at a la carte: Mexican, tapas, grill, Italian. Jungle vegetation with animals, butterflies, birds. Quiet with few activities. Nice trios/quartets in margararita bar in evening. ADULTS ONLY

Drawback: no ocean view, 1.5 hrs from Cancun, entertainment at night in theatre is low quality, ONE WEEK ISN"T LONG ENOUGH!!!!

Quiet vacation, just what we needed.

Loved that the hotel was adult only! Made for a nice relaxing , romantic holiday! No kids at the resort made a Huge difference in the noise level and cleanliness Expecially in the pool area! Pool restrooms always clean, not sandy wet floor like we experienced while at the other two resorts. Pool was less used than at family resort so it was absolute pristine and when I would go swimming it was always only a handful of guest in the pool at any given time! We actually went to two other resorts and then the above became even more apparent. Also due to it being adult only it was more 30 age group. The food was very good! We actually went to the buffet dinner every night because they had such a great selection , from Salade's , cheese , bread, fruit, vegetables and meat that we where very content ! Plus no wait time to be seated and eat! The food was fantastic! Waiters where great! ( we always left a tip) Always promt to fill your glass and see if you needed anything! House wine was as good as any house wines here in Canada!
The guest at this hotel is varied , lots of Europeans! Which I loved. More Italian's i would say than other nationality( heard this was due to a year contract with an Italian travel company but that was just on hearsay) , Also Germans, french, French Canadians, English Canadian's and probable last would be American's. So you hear many languages and accents!

Most of the people working at the resort speak English well! They actually can take English classes at the resort three times a week!

There is always something going on at the resort. Dart competitions, dance classes, aqua fit , beach volley ball, water polo, Spanish classes, and even Mexican cooking classes! Susie and rolando are fantastic , always getting people involved and making every one feel comfortable! Great shows at night to relax and watch after dinner!

All in all. We loved the resort! We Would Recommend this resort to everyone! Only negative for me was I have a bit of a bum heal and there are not mod of transportation ! So you need to walk! But having said that it is not a huge resort and it only a 5-7 min walk from main building to pool! Also room's on main floor have a musty smell. Third floor is best!

This was our second week at Catalonia Royal Tulum, the first was 3 years ago. We hada wonderful time and would highly recommend the hotel to any couples that want a relaxed fairly quiet holiday with a fabulous beach. The staff are amazing, the food is good and the beach is wonderful.

En haute saison,il est probable que vous n'obteniez pas votre choix de chambre mais ça se négocie!

Super belle plage mais levez-vous tôt pour sécuriser vos chaises longues et surtout un palappas si vous voulez de l'ombre. Nourriture: passablement de choix; beaucoup de légumes et de fruits; peu de fruits de mer; bonne cuisine surtout le mexicain mais c'est une question de goût! Chambre très propre, fonctionnelle, tout est en marbre, décor moyen, lit assez ferme. Beau spa et gym avec tout l'équipement nécessaire.

Resort is located in great area with nice beach. Resort itself was good, clean, well maintained. Service was OK but not amazing. When I paid price for Royal resort I expected more. It seems to me that management wants to charge royal price for average service. You could see management cuts corners to save money. Restaurants had good food but limited selection, variety of food in buffet was disappointing. For the same money I could get much better service at Grand Palladium, Barcelo or or Iberostar.

Petit site ou le personnel est très agréable et où chacun s'efforce de nous dire quelques mots en français. La plage est très belle. Palmiers et palapas sur la plage: c'est ce que nous recherchions. Nombre de restaurants limites mais pour une semaine c'est ok. Bouffe très bonne.

Très belle hotel, buffets et restaurants à la carte très bon, plage et mer magnifique. nous avons passé une très belle semaine .

L'hôtel est situé sur une belle plage. On peut entrer dans l'eau sans chaussure. A promimité quelques coraux, plongée en apnée agréable, plusieurs variétés de poissons. On est toutefois un peu tassé sur la plage.
Le service est d'une très grande qualité, courtois.
La nourriture est excellente, restaurant à la carte tous les soirs, si désiré, et sans réservation !
Propreté excellente partout sur le site et dans la chambre.
Endroit paisible, idéal pour les personnes qui veulent relaxer, se reposer. Pas vraiment l'endroit pour de grosses fêtes de groupe, ambiance plutôt intime. Superbe spa.
Spectacle très moyen (danseurs qui font du lipsing...) et très américain, peu d'ambiance mexicaine.
Nous gardons un excellent souvenir et recommandons cet hôtel sans hésitation.

Bel hôtel très propre avec du personnel accueillant. La plage est magnifique et les installations très conviviales. La nourriture est bonne et l'hôtel est très propre. Par contre, manque un peu d'ambiance. Certaines zones devraient avoir de la musique (ex: zone ou il y a les lits de plage) et il serait agréable qu'il y ait un lieu de rencontre accueillant pour l'apéro ainsi qu'après le repas. Présentement le bar n'est pas très intéressant. Je ne recommanderais pas à une personne seule qui veut rencontrer des gens.

Très bel environnement ,plein de végétation et d'animeaux sur le site,on doit passer sur des ponts au dessus les mangroves pour aller à la réception.La nourriture est exceptionnelle(calmars , poissons et au grill steak angus aaa pizza au four à bois et shushi) même les vins maison espagnols délicieux et nous avons l'habitude de voyager nous avons été agréablement surpris.La plage pas trés longue mais trés belle.Le personnel toujours souriant et avenant.Endroit à conseiller

We went in a group of 6 people. The overall experience was very good. The only downfall was how the resort caters to the Europeans, mostly Italians. Because of this, I would NEVER return to this resort. I thought I was going to Mexico, not to Italy!!!!!!!!!! In my own opinion, this resort shouldn't even be available to North Americans. I would never recommend this resort to anyone.

Hotel was nice, great location, and good food; however, we wouldn't return to this resort for the one fact that it caters way too much to Italians. It was about 80-90% Italians visiting the resort and the resort caters to them considerably more than any other nationality by having all Italian evening shows and a predominately (if not all) Italian entertainment staff that rarely interacts with anyone other than Italians. At one point we exchanged towels mid-day and entertainment staff member at the desk would only speak Italian to us even though we spoke Spanish & English to him (we are Canadian). This was very rude, along with the all Italian shows. Other than this the resort was very nice and the staff, other then entertainment staff, were very pleasant and gave great service.

Perfect way to recharge our batteries this winter. This resort has an incredibly relaxed vibe with a great layout. The main walkway between the lobby and the pool/beach was so pleasant, a winding stone path thru forest full of local furry critters - we never could get tired of that walk! The beach is incredible - plenty of palapas/chairs, white sand, no rocks, great snorkeling, and relaxed walks in both directions with no other big resorts around. Food was solid, great variety at the buffets and the grill and tapas restaurants were great. Not a party resort. About a 50/50 mix of North American and Italian guests, which we liked. Room was basic but clean and had everything you need. Incredible service everywhere. Great spa. We loved the warm jacuzzi pools overlooking the beach - what a great idea! Would go back in a heart beat.

les vacances à temps partagé, je ne suis pas capable en vacances. Les employés de vera tour sont tous a fait formés pour te faire gober n importe quoi. des vrais sangsues lorsque tu ose leur apporter un sourire. mais chanceuse je ne parlais pas italien et je ne me suis pas forcé sur l anglais alors ils ont du abandonner.
